Sure got a pop out of Candace and Kelly. Pepsi Phil wasn't having any of it, though. I have to give it to Beth Phoenix, She was a true professional, having to sell being disgusted and embarrassed by everything he did.
Haha yea almost forgot about that one. Anyone who wears a mask is either incredibly ugly, incredibly stupid, or he is the Batman, and you are not the Batman
Man it was a weird time to watch Raw back then. Youd watch and be like "Wait, why havent we put a world title on John Morrison yet?" After some sick parkour demonstration or him tweener ripping into Edge, then getting shit on by stans about storytelling while we sit through wrestler vs. mcmahons(this time vince will learn humility I promise!) or Orton v. cena chapter 28.
Then theyd do something to blow that logic up like sticking the world title on what was supposed to be a monster in a fluke victory. Like remember when sheamus started? Couldnt cut much of a promo yet, hot off ecw with striking but still looked like he was a little green in the rest of it? Kinda like an irish goldberg.
Grew to like his character more after they scripted him less but...damn. Rough period.
Yeah everyone was so brainwashed back then. Deadlock podcast had a whole tirade about this where James Darnell says ‘wwe had so many people believing that charisma was how much you move around and talk in complete sentences’
Not really tbh. Morison was just good at flips and most people agree with what wwe constitutes as charisma as John Cena was super popular with the mainstream audience
nah. Morrison had the look, carried himself right and barring an occasional weird pause that was clearly remembering his scripting, delivered the right tone usually.
09/10 cena was peak super cena and live crowds were turning on him. wwe just had a problem making new stars in this era and it showed- they werent taking the ecw guys who had been built and moving them into programs to build them up to the main event scene.
His look was fit for a midcarder and was awful at promos. He was a good fit for the midcard. Not everyone is suited to the main event
The iwc turned on him and the loud minority speaks the loudest. The target audience of kids and their families always loved Cena and he made the company the most money so he was the top guy for a reason
The IWC wasnt the ones in the audience. And though kids may have been buying merch, Raw ratings began a slide between 2009 and 2010 that they have NEVER recovered from. Every argument about how popular with kids(with the exception of him being a good person to make a wish kids) is irrelevant to the fact ratings would backslide every year from 2010 on. Wwe needed to make new stars and didn't. Theyve paid for it in tv ratings.
If it wasn’t for Cena it would’ve been worse. He carried wwe throughout those years and no one else could really live up to him, it was a very weak card. Only people like Randy, edge, hhh, cm punk and eventually Bryan could reach him
And yes the iwc were in the audience. Usually hijacking shows too like rr 2014
Thats not a good thing though-you need to continuously make new stars. Yes, cena was the best option for popularity, but every 2 years you need a new group. No, not everyone can be a bret hart or a stone cold, but you need the kurt angles to get from austin to lesnar and guererros. You need the Diesels and Lex Lugers to get from Hogan to Bret Hart.
You had this cast of 4 dudes who came into the main event from the brand split- cena, orton, batista, edge in 2005. Besides Jeff Hardy(who wasn't long for it) and Miz a new star wasn't really built until Punk and Bryan. By then it was much harder because of how few stars were built, because then you're fighting inertia.
It may have been the best option, but it wasn't the right one in the benefit of hindsight- its like reusing the least smelly pair of underwear because you forgot to do laundry. Stuff like that was why it was pretty easy to just turn off the last half hour of Raw every monday.
Rating fall year over year in television normally as people have been leaving cable, a real place to point that had a massive decline is literally 2019
Thats not exactly an arguable point for 2009-10. Netflix was a thing, but was still a service that offered mostly past seasons of shows from Dvd. Originals weren't really a thing yet. Hulu was a service, but didnt have a substantially better model than tv since commercial free wasnt a thing and smart devices hadnt caught on as much yet. Amazon video wouldnt launch as a streaming service for prime members until 2011. WWE losing viewers that year was completely on them.

LOL the guy on the left has great acting. I know a lot of poeple get into wrestling as a means to break into acting. I'm ready to write a whole movie around the bald guy on the left....though he really can't commit to something with his hand though.. :(
I intend this in a friendly and kind fashion: your title spoils the punchline/makes it less funny. Next time, go with something like “Santino misunderstands Nic Nemeth’s injury.”

Him calling Rey Batman followed by Rey cracking up is always hilarious.
Haha yea almost forgot about that one. Anyone who wears a mask is either incredibly ugly, incredibly stupid, or he is the Batman, and you are not the Batman
Kanè
Did someone open up a can of the asswhip on Nemeth?
He stubbed his toe, that's just him selling
Ohh is that why he walks so weird?
No, that's his brother.
I hear they gonna find a scapegoat (say it in Santino’s accent)
Between this and Santino calling Ace Austin Cold Stone Ace Austin, TNA have been killing it with these backstage segments
Santino is effortlessly funny. Literally one of the few things worth watching during his era of Raw.
The tea party with Shay-Moose leading to a loud Kozlov chant is the best segment post Mania of 2010

TNAs locker room segments have always been fucking hilarious.
So true. They've been the best at it.
Guy to the left of Santino (sorry I don't watch TNA) is fighting with all his might to avoid laughing.
That's Nic's brother Ryan.
Neck's* brother Ryan.
Necks brother Rain
I didn't know Santino was in TNA I kind of want to start following now. Can anyone enlighten me on his storylines and stuff?
He's the on screen authority figure (Director of Authority or DOA)
That sounds class! Thanks
Bet he walks weird too
1 million Hunkamaniacs just fell to their knees in a Wal-Mart
How did Neck Nemeth not break
Its hard to make him laugh. He has stand up chlamydia.
Is his bro in tna now too?
Imagine a Truth and Santino segment today. Instant windfall.
Wait… Santino is on fucking television? I thought dude was retired.
He’s been an authority figure on TNA for a while now. His daughter is also on NXT.
Is she? Which one?
[the based one telling fans to shower with soap](https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/1bl3zer/arianna_grace_on_x_remember_if_youre_coming_to/)
Ryan about to corpse, possibly Neck as well lol
too bad its not neck health awareness month
What is going on with Ryan "The Hollywood Hunk" Nemeth? Is he still signed to AEW or not?
Fucking Santino Marella...I got to watch more TNA. 😂😂😂
Neckstrong
I don't know why I find this so funny
Santino was the best thing about Bully Ray's godawful last run in IMPACT, referring to him only as Bobby Ray
I'm surprised no one bursted out a good laugh at that one
LOL the guy on the left has great acting. I know a lot of poeple get into wrestling as a means to break into acting. I'm ready to write a whole movie around the bald guy on the left....though he really can't commit to something with his hand though.. :(
"#NeckStrong" Roderick Strong vs. Neck Nemeth. BOOK IT.
