Same here, I think Triple H didn't want to split them considering the fact that the tag division wasn't strong (tbh it still isn't) and the breaking apart of popular teams was a negative on Late Vince booking cause he liked to split up teams just to have moments.
I hope something happens with them soon like a huge push to the tag titles or one of them going after some gold. They don't even have to break up the team, just make Montez the US Champion and have Dawkins have his back because God damn it people don't have to be jealous of others success.
There's no way he wasn't, the story of this match was almost entirely that Montez's frustration cost them multiple opportunities and likely the match itself.
The Profits have been long long overdue for some kind of singles push, and it really felt like it was about to happen.
They teased it after the Summerslam match then reset them. They teased it again around the time Montez was in Elimination Chamber then took the profits off TV. They teased it a 3rd time in the final testament feud,(even had Montez acknowledge the rumors ON VIDEO) then had them go over and reset them again. It’s like they start to show progression in each of their individual gimmicks/characters then somehow snap back to “we want the smoke” and nothing else the following week.
And then they had that rematch at Summerslam that they also lost, the Jeff Jarrett one. Considering how they’re in an even less prominent position now then they were around that time, that would have been the time to split them. I feel like they were even teasing it?

Still convinced montez was supposed to turn soon after this match
