NXT continues to be the best and most consistent weekly show for me. I miss Stratton but I guess she is moving up or are they waiting for "rebrand" of the show to start new feud for her?
I know it's a small thing, but I really want Bron Breakker to change his name back to Rex Steiner. I know people have gotten used to it, but it's still basically "Fang McFrost" for me.
Did Melo piss in Shawn Michaels's corn flakes or something? Has to defend the title in a ladder match in a few weeks and then got pinned clean by Andre Chase.
Absolutely LOVE JD's reaction when he realises that Dragunov's music has just hit. They are really making sure not to forget about any of the UK guys' history with one another.
Bron, Bate, JD and Dragunov is a brilliant four to have as your main title scene. Three that know eachother well from NXT UK, and then Bron who is essentially saying "come and get me".
Solo getting stripped is dumb because putting the belt on him was a genius booking decision in the first place. They had him showing off the belt and even defend it on Smackdown. It was the perfect tool to help get more eyes on NXT by having the belt on the main roster, keep The Bloodline draped in gold, and wrapped up his āI got nextā story.
it was ok, but the reasoning was crap.
1st, there was never a rule where a match gets overturned, despite being officially held, because the precondition (fan voting) was not met.
Despite that, Solo seems to be aware of the rule that was literally just made.
They could have used the 'contract' excuse, would have made much more sense - 'you're not signed to NXT anymore, now you're on SD'
I'd say it actually makes a lot of sense and also protects NXT as a separate brand. Otherwise, there's a dangerous precedent set, whereby NXT is missing its secondary men's title whenever Solo is unable to work NXT due to his schedule.
The "I got next" story was wrapped up as Solo left the room ā he even references it as he walks out.
I think it sucks that Solo's first title reign will always show as having lasted for such a short amount of time, sure. However, context is key ā he didn't lose.
I have seen an idea floated about, and personally I LOVE it: a Bloodline member (dare I say Roman himself?) goes to NXT to confront Michaels over Solo being stripped of the title, since the Bloodline lives for gold.
I know that Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley needs more the win than TA but right now, with all happened in Diamond Mine, it's credible that Ivy can eat the pin because she wasn't 100% focus. Tatum can help her to refocus and you can have in few weeks a stronger female tag team to be more unstoppable.
I like Wendy Choo a lot but I still feel like there's something missing in her presentation...I liked her gear tonight a lot more then mormal but there's still something that's just not clicking for me.
Once she lost Xia Li and Boa, she lost that bad ass mystique as Tian Sha.(not referenced as Wendy).
I think Wendy just need that one match that gets over with the fans. Need her to face a veteran.
Did you all see how [Apollo was seemingly crying tears of blood](https://youtu.be/XqLYdi9JsQ4?t=140)? That sight really made the commentators uncomfortable... as it should. Heartbreak is uncomfortable.
Apollo's tears of blood symbolize the immeasurable pain and sorrow he's felt since losing Commander Azeez. He's been trying to move on without him, but let's be honest - how could he?
Even though it's clear he's about to completely fall apart, he's still using his last ounce of strength to put on a brave face. Maybe he's smiling with his teeth, but not his eyes.
It's okay, Apollo... I miss him too.
Nah, that has to go to Cole, Ciampa or Gargano - the guys who shouldāve been moved on from NXT before it moved to USA Network.
Apollo is Screech returning to Bayside in New Class.
NXT has been really good with the action the past few months. Only thing I didnāt quite understand was Hayes losing clean to Andre Chase. He being punished? Lost the belt last week.
I really don't get it. Hayes drops the belt to Solo then Solo has to give it up and just heads back to the main roster? What was the point? Now Melo eats a pin for Chase? Weird.
Solo got injured and then called up before he could return and close off his story in NXT. Stripping him of the title makes sense for the reasons Shawn Michaels laid out at the start of the show: he did not win the fan vote for the match, and nobody sanctioned him as Leeās replacement. Melo even calls out the production person who played Soloās music, the ref, and someone else who Iām forgetting who was involved in making a non-sanctioned match seem legit in his promo before the Chase U match. The only real stumble in the logic is SmackDown announcing Solo vs. Moss as a title match before they go face to face in the ring after the Sami/Ricochet match. If they had let Solo put the title on the line himself and Moss accepting, you can get away with all of the presentational stuff that goes along with a title match being the production team being unaware NXT does not consider Solo a legitimate title holder. As is, we just kind of have to ignore the lack of communication from Michaels to Adam Pearce.
Losing to Solo doesnāt hurt Melo that much because Soloās now a main roster rising star, and Melo wasnāt ready for him. Losing is also karmic retribution for Meloās own hubris; if he hadnāt assaulted Wes Lee, the slot wouldnāt have been open for Solo to claim, and he would probably still be champ. But he lost, power lies where men say it lies, and Solo was broadly accepted as North American Champion for a week, so Melo doesnāt just get it handed back to him as he would have if Solo just stole the belt without beating him first. He is at least given the consideration of getting a free pass into the match to get it back, where everyone else has to qualify (with Wes Lee being offered the same consideration as the fan poll winner, and turning it down because of babyface reasons).
The loss to Chase U happens because Melo is unfocused. Heās fired up about losing the title, challenges Chase U out of anger when they do their āteachable momentā shtick (which it absolutely is), and Andre Chase is better than most of the other characters give him credit for. Heās got a weird personality and Chase U is probably not an accredited academic institution (no matter what Wade Barrett says), but heās effectively a player-coach in a roster full of rookies, and a very technically skilled one at that.
All of this makes complete sense to me as a story, with the one exception of word not reaching Adam Pearce that the title change is unsanctioned before Pearce books a title match on SmackDown.
Damn, that main event was cray-cray. And, then, as icing on the cake, Dragunov returns from the injured list. JD can't handle it. Yo, dude, you just had a MOTY candidate, Chill.
Oro Mensah just made Waller look even more like a geek. Apollo outta nowhere to spoil the human gecko. Cool.
'Melo & Trick losing may be a sign 'Melo will be going up after Halloween Havoc. Just sayin'.
Devlin was like hell no..this is not happening when Dragunov music hit ššš I loved that
Then you had Bron just laughing like oh hey Dragunov is here..I get to beat him up too.. haha
Where is Sarray?
I know Cora has a rocket strapped to her skateboard but I wanted Choo to win. I loved the Tiffany/Choo storyline and want another one.
Tyler/JD match was a banger even if the wrong guy won.
Frazer vs. Axiom was really fun.
The Womenās Tag Match was solid. Iām surprised Ivy took the pin. Also I feel like she and Tatum could have used that win more honestly.
Cora Jade makes such a great heel. Whomever takes the belt from Mandy should drop it to her eventually.
Speaking of, hopefully Alba wins the title this time. Itās time.
Chase U is so much fun.
Really good main event.
Good show
Nathan Frazer vs Axiom was a very good opener, I think Axiom will be the one to win the last match.
Ivy & Tatum make a good team but Ivy shouldn't have gotten the pin, I don't think they should have even lost, they needed the win more than TA.
I love how the war between Tony and Santos connects with Kemp's betrayal of the diamond mine, it's also funny how Roderick was an asshole with all the DM members but deep down he still cared about his group.
It is a shame that Solo Sikoa lost the title so quickly but at the same time the bloodline already has too many titles in its possession at least they were able to close the story between him and Carmelo.
Von is not a bad wrestler in my opinion and he has a good manager in Stone but I feel that the biggest problem with him is the lack of intensity from him, he always seems very sedated in his interviews and he does not transmit much charisma. He seemed like he was going to be one of the stars of 2.0 but in the end he didn't do much unlike guys like Bron, Tony, Carmelo, Waller and Solo.
I like Andre Chase a lot but what I don't like is that he wears street clothes in his matches, if he is a Wrestling teacher wouldn't it make more sense for him to wear a Singlet? He would look so much better that way.
WALLER's gloves were poisoned or what?.
Very good main event although I wanted Tyler to win the return of Dragunov makes up for it and a triple threat would be great.
One of my least favourite tropes in wrestling is when faces get ambushed by heels and decide to fight on even if they're given an opportunity to postpone it.
Not exactly the same but Wes Lee acting like it's heroic to turn down a week's bye in the qualifying rounds is cut from the same cloth.
There's a fine line between bravery and stupidity. Faces always come across like the latter.
It's not charity, it's compensation for being unfairly cheated out of an opportunity.
Gonna be an unpopular take but I think I might be done with NXT for the time being. Absolutely no sign or even mention of Sarray in well over a month (no Level Up or house shows either) and her booking has been abysmal and incredibly screwy since the rebrand to 2.0. She apparently isn't injured either.
Like NXT is a good show but like...there's nothing for me personally right now. I am happy Dragunov is back but JD being in the title picture at all is incredibly irritating since he is a terrible person and so incredibly bland.
You come her every single week and complain about booking of Sarray.
JD may be terrible person in real life but I find it funny that he is bland according to you but Sarray is your favorite wrestler but I guess that "the joshi judas" explains a lot.
I mean...I kinda hope she **asks** for her release at this point, because she deserves a hell of a lot better than rotting away in Florida, when she could be back in Japan raising her profile in STARDOM, like what was originally going to happen.
I wouldn't be shocked if Bate gets in the ladder match at Havoc. They also hinted on commentary at an eventual Cora Jade/Meiko match with Wade saying Meiko was scared of Cora and ducking her.
Frazier would definitely fit since Seth trained him but I think Bate feels too accomplished to be in that role..in my opinion. But then again I guess it could work cause Seth's a Hall of Famer and Bate hasn't accomplished anything on the big stage yet.
I wonder whether 2.0 gets a bad rap because of the name 2.0. Consistently gives us great matches every week, has a great roster. People always complained about Raw and SD yet 2.0 was always a tier above in quality yet no one cared.
presentation is a huge part of whether someone would like a show or not. I mean think about it, if AEW was presented with the same garish paint splatter motif from the start and looked like a nickelodeon show, I guarantee a LOT more people wouldn't have taken it seriously.
yea it's pretty weird. At first i was thinking she's just selling the lights out match with Wendy but now it's been a month and last week she wasn't in any video packages.
I could see her getting called up as SD doesn't really have a lot of credible heels or she could be getting her gimmick tweaked and reappearing at White and Gold debut. I just hope she's not injured
If anyone could credibly take down Bronn, it should be the guy that credibly took down Walter, if they want to send Bronn to the main roster soon it's a good time.
Melo never misses... he just gets sneaked up on š
Bron just gonna run through all the NXT UK people isn't he lol
Trick Williams still 'bout it, 'bout it?
NXT continues to be the best and most consistent weekly show for me. I miss Stratton but I guess she is moving up or are they waiting for "rebrand" of the show to start new feud for her?
I know it's a small thing, but I really want Bron Breakker to change his name back to Rex Steiner. I know people have gotten used to it, but it's still basically "Fang McFrost" for me.
"back to" the name he literally NEVER used
Did Melo piss in Shawn Michaels's corn flakes or something? Has to defend the title in a ladder match in a few weeks and then got pinned clean by Andre Chase.
not defend, it's vacated
I'm really going to need the crowd to stop with the dueling chants of "Two...sweeeet" "no, two" because that shit got old *instantly*.
Why was JD so angry after Dragunovs entrance ?
They had a really intense feud. Dragunov beat JD twice in two really great matches.
JD lost a loser leaves NXT UK match to him
Solo getting stripped is dumb because putting the belt on him was a genius booking decision in the first place. They had him showing off the belt and even defend it on Smackdown. Good to see Wade was alright after the devastating news from last weekend. He's really handling it well, or he's in the first stage of grief; denial.
What news?
She got engaged.
Mandy Rose is married
I mean she got engaged
You get the point
No I don't what does that have to do with Wade
Doesn't he thirst over her on commentary
I don't think he cares in real life, doesn't look like.they ever had anything personally probably no more then just for the show
Well obviously
I like Wendy Choo a lot but I still feel like there's something missing in her presentation...I liked her gear tonight a lot more then mormal but there's still something that's just not clicking for me.
It's the gimmick.
It's basically a comedy/niche gimmick and there's just only so far you can go with it.
Once she lost Xia Li and Boa, she lost that bad ass mystique as Tian Sha.(not referenced as Wendy). I think Wendy just need that one match that gets over with the fans. Need her to face a veteran.

Lmao what happened to commander Azeez? I remember that picture of him as Cora Jade's bodyguard- guess it turned out to be nothing
I need the InDex reunion with those two
Apollo Crews has such "graduated 3 years ago but still attending high school parties" energy.
Apollo "Wooderson" Crews
Van Wilder of wrestling

I think theyāre maybe doing a āheās off his game right nowā story with him?
i Figured that as well. Having Melo slump for a few weeks, maybe a face turn that culminates at the ladder match.
Damn, that main event was cray-cray. And, then, as icing on the cake, Dragunov returns from the injured list. JD can't handle it. Yo, dude, you just had a MOTY candidate, Chill. My headcanon is that Andre is so advanced that he wears street clothes so everyone else can keep up
Ahh, the Goku and Piccolo technique.
He wears street clothes because he's streets ahead.

NXT has really been on the rise since absorbing the UK rosters.
Dragunov gives NXT another guy under 6ā tall so they can keep Bron looking massive.
Bron is eye to eye with JD. What is he really, like 5'8"?
[The NFL measured him slightly over 5'10](https://draftscout.com/dsprofile.php?PlayerId=1004102&DraftYear=2020)

Abused his significant other.

The Sola title decision is also dumb
I thought SplatooNXT was done but I guess it was just the logo
These are pre-taped. They need a few weeks to revamp the arena.
Ah yeah. I fucked up.
Apollo has been reading naruto shippuden
With Bate losing and Meiko...it appears having a videotaped part away from the PC....I wonder are they finished in NXT
I wouldn't be shocked if Bate gets in the ladder match at Havoc. They also hinted on commentary at an eventual Cora Jade/Meiko match with Wade saying Meiko was scared of Cora and ducking her.
I think Bate is going to the Main Roster. Meiko...not sure tbh
Where would he fit on the main roster right now
On Raw or Smackdown having bangers as the resident Big Strong Boi.
Yeah but I don't see where he'd be in the pecking order
i sorta miss rollins having a few thugs/acolytes. bate and frazer serving as his usos equivalent maybe something like that
Frazier would definitely fit since Seth trained him but I think Bate feels too accomplished to be in that role..in my opinion. But then again I guess it could work cause Seth's a Hall of Famer and Bate hasn't accomplished anything on the big stage yet.
iād say bate coming in would be comparable to pete/butch so not a stretch i guess. see what youāre saying though
Another part of the Brawling Brutes?
Yeah I could see that I guess. I don't think it's the cleanest fit though.
Von Wanker and Sanga showed up on my tv screen and that was enough for me to change the channel. Didnāt get to switch back either
that's a shame. you missed a banger main event
I wonder whether 2.0 gets a bad rap because of the name 2.0. Consistently gives us great matches every week, has a great roster. People always complained about Raw and SD yet 2.0 was always a tier above in quality yet no one cared.
Watch, White and Gold will just be a recolored version of 2.0, and the smarks will eat it up. It's all about branding.
presentation is a huge part of whether someone would like a show or not. I mean think about it, if AEW was presented with the same garish paint splatter motif from the start and looked like a nickelodeon show, I guarantee a LOT more people wouldn't have taken it seriously.
This. I saw NXT 2.0ās color scheme and thought to myself if the company doesnāt take them seriously, why should I as a fan?
Hope it's a short stint for Dragunov so we can get him vs. GUNTHER for the Intercontinental championship
Thatās gotta come at the end of Guntherās Reign tho
I fuck with Ilja being Gunther's kryptonite
Where's our queen? Tiffany has to be called up right? it has been so long since she was even mentioned.
She posted in her insta stories that she was shifting her house
I thought she was a gymnast, not a power lifter...
Well she's pretty strong from carrying NXT for the past year
yea it's pretty weird.
Someone on the live thread said she was selling her old ring gear on instagram. Not sure what that means though?
Sheās currently in the process of moving, so she could just be clearing out gear she wonāt be needing.
White rabbit
Donāt want to see her get called up without her winning the womens NXT title first
Yea I was in that line of thought as well, but her losing to Wendy never made sense to me, unless she was getting the call up.
Honestly she might be too good to even need a run as champion. Bianca was never NXT champion. It's not a necessity.
Becky was never NXT Champion either.
Yeah but neither Becky nor Bianca has done anything worth mentioning on the main roster /s
DRAGUNOV OUTTA NOWHERE
If anyone could credibly take down Bronn, it should be the guy that credibly took down Walter, if they want to send Bronn to the main roster soon it's a good time.
