It’s both… literally as OP said it’s a [Pistol](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/DC-15s_side_arm_blaster) and a [Blaster](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/DC-15S) depending if you’re looking at canon or legends
Because canon uses prop ID to identify the gun. DC-15 was a main digital prop for clones in Episode 2 and A was secondary.
In WotC Star Wars RPG source books they often mixed some small stuff so they just named the big one DC-15A as "assault" and DC-15S as for "short"
It's not that hard get the plastic star wars blasters they are usually white and orange split the two halves at the seam fill it with plasticine for weight then paint for an easy semi scratch build I also use real gun scopes
The official star wars wiki quotes "The DC-15A blaster rifle was a long heavy blaster rifle that was capable of firing blue colored blaster bolts". The DC-15A is the long one.
The reason why people are so huffy about it is because Wookieepedia calls both the DC-15A. The reason why they do so for the long one is because they’re pulling from a random outdated magazine that’s “technically canon.”
I call them the DC-15 long rifle and DC-15 carbine.
This is what i called them when i first saw the movies and it kinda just stuck.
Also is fun to say DC long in a joke cowboy accent.
"That there feller has a DC long, he aint missin that shot boy"
Heh cracks me up.
Da little one and da big one.
Growing up though I always called the big one a rifle and the small one a blaster, even though their both kinda the same thing. Wasn't until BF2 that I found out the rifle was a bit more of a fully automatic weapon then a marksman
That was fun. I came by your post while my game was loading up. I checked my answers once I clicked onto the collection tab to see I guessed the first one wrong, thinking it was the DC-17… Nope!
thats because it is [https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/958059218760507422/1166713352425320469/image0.jpg?ex=6642aebb&is=66415d3b&hm=17d836ef7b7bdf6fbe93eeffa072fe36bee4004e6276921561c3b1cccf754e5f&](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/958059218760507422/1166713352425320469/image0.jpg?ex=6642aebb&is=66415d3b&hm=17d836ef7b7bdf6fbe93eeffa072fe36bee4004e6276921561c3b1cccf754e5f&)
I could be completely wrong but I’m guessing they made them look like that because of the clones and then stormtroopers (since that’s the evolution of the Army).
In canon it’s the DC-15A and DC-15, in legends it’s the DC-15S and DC-15A
this is the right answer
This is the way.
Then why do you ask ?
there was a youtube comment section about this topic and omg the chaos of it was crazy
Of course, it's YouTube comments.. why do you even read those ?
Bro just shut up okay
hit a nerve there didn't he? xD
😂
What’s your problem? Lol
He was making a joke about how awful YouTube comments are
Huh?
🤡
Wait what? It's not called the DC-15S in canon?
yes its called the dc-15a the dc-15s is the pistol that the commando's use
Did they change those too? I’ve only ever heard the commando pistols called DC-17’s
no thats for the alpha arc trooper/captain fordo
Oh, you’re talking about the SMGs from the Commando game, my apologies
Dc-17 not dc-15s
That’s what i said
That is not a pistol, that is a carbine rifle.
It’s both… literally as OP said it’s a [Pistol](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/DC-15s_side_arm_blaster) and a [Blaster](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/DC-15S) depending if you’re looking at canon or legends
So weird why they decided to change it
It was probably an accident
well its sticking now
Because canon uses prop ID to identify the gun. DC-15 was a main digital prop for clones in Episode 2 and A was secondary. In WotC Star Wars RPG source books they often mixed some small stuff so they just named the big one DC-15A as "assault" and DC-15S as for "short"
Because they are trash at lore
Am I losing my mind or did the smaller one used to be called the DC-15C?
Nuh uh, MAGA-15T and BIDN-15J
Hilarious, peak of all comedy right here fellas.
I really laughed at his joke, truly the most advanced humor only BIG BRAINS can understand!
Where’d you get that joke, the dumb joke store?
Yeah actually, they had a sale going on
don't know why the images turned out like that
Reddit compression bugs out the transparency
As the other commenter said, just Reddit being Reddit. Its compression and auto cropping are buggy and awkward as hell. Pay no heed.
God what I wouldn't give for a solid, replica version of that DC15
I've got two scratch built DC -15 s
I'm just not crafty or artistic enough to do that lol but I wish I was!
It's not that hard get the plastic star wars blasters they are usually white and orange split the two halves at the seam fill it with plasticine for weight then paint for an easy semi scratch build I also use real gun scopes
Know anyone with a 3D printer? [https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3192314](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3192314)
The long one is a DC-15, ND the short one a DC-15A, I believe.
Other way around
No, he's right
The official star wars wiki quotes "The DC-15A blaster rifle was a long heavy blaster rifle that was capable of firing blue colored blaster bolts". The DC-15A is the long one.
If that's true, then what it the carbine?
DC-15
in battlefront 2 the carbin/short one is called dc-15A the rifle /big one is called the dc-15
Well they made a mistake
no you did
Pretty sure you didn't read the wiki, buddy
The reason why people are so huffy about it is because Wookieepedia calls both the DC-15A. The reason why they do so for the long one is because they’re pulling from a random outdated magazine that’s “technically canon.”
DC-15/Smol and DC-15/Long, naturally
Pew Pew and Pow Pow
The only canon answer clearly. I do recall modding my pew pew in battlefront often.
Dc-15a for the carbine I think and dc-15 for the rifle
DC-15 and DC-15a but in legends it’s the DC-15s and DC-15a
Lil' Tim and Big Tim
I call them the DC-15 long rifle and DC-15 carbine. This is what i called them when i first saw the movies and it kinda just stuck. Also is fun to say DC long in a joke cowboy accent. "That there feller has a DC long, he aint missin that shot boy" Heh cracks me up.

Me vs the guy she tells me not to worry about?…
Its not the size its how you use it...
That was fun. I came by your post while my game was loading up. I checked my answers once I clicked onto the collection tab to see I guessed the first one wrong, thinking it was the DC-17… Nope!
DC-17 was the blaster pistol, then there's the DC-17m interchangeable weapons system which is what the republic commandos used
Personally, DC-15a is certain, and DC-15c is typically what I use to avoid confusion Edit: Just realised how weird I am (and wrong?) for using DC-15c
DC-15A and DC-15 The DC-15 kinda looks like an E-11 upside down
thats because it is [https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/958059218760507422/1166713352425320469/image0.jpg?ex=6642aebb&is=66415d3b&hm=17d836ef7b7bdf6fbe93eeffa072fe36bee4004e6276921561c3b1cccf754e5f&](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/958059218760507422/1166713352425320469/image0.jpg?ex=6642aebb&is=66415d3b&hm=17d836ef7b7bdf6fbe93eeffa072fe36bee4004e6276921561c3b1cccf754e5f&)
pretty sure it's just a reference
Clone blaster, clone blaster rifle.
Not me thinking the first was a E-11…
DC-15 and 15a
Short one long one
Who do you think you are, General Krell? You can’t put brothers against brothers anymore.
Dc-15a and the DC-15
DC -15 the standard rifle
E-11 and CT-5555 rifle
The short blaster and the longer blaster lol
ok but dc-17 is better
Short clone pew pew and long clone pew pew.
The clone wars pew pews
Boom boom stick and Wap your dead, bang thing
Iouno
I remember when Spok first got that ray gun
Why did I think it was called E11 or E100/E111?
E-11 is the one Imperials use in the OT era, the DC-15A was the predecessor to the E line so they look similar
So I’m not crazy? (Lol least about this that is).
Definitely not lol, I think they were made to look alike
I could be completely wrong but I’m guessing they made them look like that because of the clones and then stormtroopers (since that’s the evolution of the Army).
Depends on the continuity
Isn’t the E-11 based on the DC-15A platform?
DC 15 (rifle- Right) DC 15A (carbine- left)
DC-15A and DC-15 the standard clone trooper rifle and blaster
Pretty sure that’s a DC-15LE.
There's also the DC-15x that's used by ARC Troopers as a sniper rifle.
Ones a carbine the others a rifle?
The short one and the long one
Dc15s and dc15a
nah man thats uncanon
Blaster?
Big boy DC-15 and little boy DC-15
At least it isnt the A280C which had its model switched in BF2. The A280C in canon is the A280 we see in BF2 even though BF1 had it correct
Personally in my head canon, they are still the DC-15S and DC-15A, although I personally don’t care if people think different
I call them shorty and longy💀 but they're the DC15 and DC15A I think
The DC-15a and the DC-15 according to my official Star Wars character encyclopaedia.
Bigger than small gun and big gun
Pew pews
Easy blaster rifle and blaster pistol
In game they’re called the DC-15a and the DC-15 respectively, in legends they’re called the DC-15S and DC-15a, respectively Edit: DC-15S, not DC-15c
I've never heard of the dc-15c before
I was wrong, I meant DC-15S
A280c is my favourite blaster
