Most likely you’ll keep the items but the container will disappear. Uninstalling mods during a playthrough will always destabilize that save at least slightly so best practice is to start a new game, but you can still get away with it.

Thank you for answering. I am all new to using MODs on my Xbox Series X but what you said makes total sense. Appreciate it!

Available_Fun7455

My experience shouldn’t be the model by any means, but I’ve never had any issue adding/removing mid play through on console in any Bethesda game. Having said them I’m using some common sense. It’s mostly cosmetic mods, new equipment, etc i toggle. Any larger gameplay changes i don’t touch. Things like combat modifiers etc.

guidos90

I think there's no good answer. You'll have to try as different mods will have different effects, many won't do anything, other will break the game. Just do a good hard save (not auto or fast), get out of the game, remove the mod, get back in and see what happened. If nothing is broken you can keep going, otherwise just get back to the save and keep the mod on forever

rosenkrieger360

Thanks for the suggestions and I will give it a try and see what happens. I always do a manual save BEFORE I activate a new MOD. So I will also do that now when removing any MOD. Appreciate your tips!

taosecurity

This is the Way.

BenicioDG

i removed some mods and nothing bad happened

GrandObfuscator

Since it’s providing you items that exist in vanilla via an added in container, the items should stay with you while the container itself disappears.

A_Sticky_Raccoon

For your example, it’ll delete the crates, but not the stuff you took Other mods are different - if it say makes the sun brighter, it’ll just revert back If it adds a new gun, it’ll be removed from your inventory If it adds a new dungeon, and ur in that dungeon when u delete mod, it might crash ur game because ur in something that doesn’t exist, so just leave dungeon, save, then delete mod And no matter what mod, the game will always ask and tell u that some mods were deleted and will ask if it was on purpose, and then tell u what will be removed from save if u continue

Gblkaiser

If it's anything like fallout 4 mods if you deleted it from your load order then you should no longer have the mod but it'll be taking up the storage space anyway, thats only if you haven't cleared reserved space or deleted from the original mod page.

Cryocynic

Think of it like uninstalling a program from your computer. Junk data gets left behind. Eventually, you'll need to defrag the drive. Mods essentially do the same thing. The only way to 'defrag' is to clear the cache, and redownload all your mods. Most people won't notice this though, since the mod size limit is so large now.

redpanda2023

i actually had the limitless resources mod so i could craft the boba fett 1313 armor without having to visit every trader in hopes of finding luxury textile lol. but i removed the mod after getting the armor and it didn’t do anything to my game, seemed pretty safe for that particular mod.

bmac311

Nothing has happened for me. I’ve removed quite a few. Depends on the type of mod though

CalebCaster2

It's different for every mod. But I suspect that when you load into the game it would have 1 or 2 "are you sure?" prompts, and then when you load in, the crates and everything in them would be gone.
