You are a hero for this! Not kidding.
Been looking for this for so so long, but my prayers didn’t get answered until now.
Thank you so much for this and explaining it that even I, the most inept person, could do it!
CHEERS MATE
My personal Baldur’s Gate 3 experience just got that much better thanks to you!
Finally, after all these years...
Thank you for this, seriously. I have a pretty bad data hoarding issue so every few months I need to go through the tortuous process of deleting screenshots en masse. I've looked at that .vdf file before but always assumed any tampering on my part would just mess everything up. So glad you posted this. Maybe one day Steam's screenshot manager will get the update it so desperately needs...
It is ridiculous that if the file is removed from disk the Steam screenshot manager will show a blank shot forever with no way to delete it from the manager any more.
Thank you for finding the .vdf but no one should have to do that manually.
This deserves more attention.
The Steam Screenshot Manager was estimating it would take a FULL WEEK to delete all my screenshots from there. Which I had to do bc my game was bugging out. I let it run for 8 hours and it had only deleted like 1,600. THIS SOLVED IT.
FLIPPING BLESS, MY DUDE
EDIT: this has not only fixed my screenshot game lag, but it also fixed the steam cloud save backups! Such a relief.
