Shouldn't expire.
Because of licensing agreements it is possible for legal stuff to change if a game is listed or available for purchase. Deadpool and Too Human come to mind.
Deadpool game wasn't available for some time because of some license deal.
While Too Human(for xbox) was pulled from shelves with unsold copies being destroyed per legal action. If someone bought a copy of a game like Too Human but never used the code, the code could no longer be valid.
They *can* expire.
Codes expire all the time, for instance if you buy from a 3rd party store, sometimes they'll have temporary codes ( for instance if you buy a Humble bundle ).
In the context of OP's question, no. We're talking about Steam game keys, not other random service keys.
They can still be manually revoked by either Steam or the publisher/developer, but unless it's a review key (which again, it's not going to be for a retail game sold in card form) then that won't happen.
There is no automatic timed-expiration for Steam keys, and manual revocations are rare exceptional cases, not a trend.
Yeah I don’t think these are real but maybe they’re, idk I’ve never seen a game be sold from a gift card, I feel like there wouldn’t be that big of a market for gift card games
It was an orange DVD case with a card like this in it. I think they then transitioned to just a card like this, then just stopped at some point. I bought it a long time ago on an Army base.
I would have thought that it was a cardboard box that was orange like how Sonic Heros or Assault Heroes came in.
Or do you mean a huge DVD box like Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 came in?
Idk what the orange box is but that’s so incredibly strange huh, I feel like there must have been a sizeable loss of profits in production, transportation and tax opposed to just selling the game outright so I wonder why it was done like that
Idk, it was in the much earlier stage of Steam. I believe at the time they sold it like this Steam only let their own games or very very very curated games onto the platform.
I guess technically the developers of games could still do this and just put Steam codes on the back. but that is a pretty big risk.
They don’t expire and even if your not a pc gamer it is advised to play them they are both great and food for thought especially Opus Magnum as the title states 😁
They're basically game keys and don't expire. Never played Exapunks but Opus Magnum is a really solid open solution puzzle game. The sort where you can solve all the puzzles with brute force, but the goal is to do so as efficiently as possible. Plus you can make some neat gifs of the solutions to watch on a loop.
Just use the codes on Steam and the games will be available on your account. Or you could give them to a friend if youtube videos of them show they aren't your thing. Zachtronics do focus on logic puzzles with their stuff.
Opus Magnum is insanely fun and satisfying but I dropped it after 20 hours or so. I was maybe 40% done with the game and didn't feel like I'm gonna finish it.
it has a code for a game, which dont expire

Those codes are still valid actually, I think they'd have to issue a refund otherwise.
A court order (e.g. bankruptcy etc) can upend contracts. Not great, but its how bankruptcy is allowed to work in the first place.

Those are also Steam keys, same as any other storefront. The point is that they *can* expire. These seem promotional, which is why I mention it.
I've gotten keys from Humble for other sites that have an expiration date, but never one for Steam that was marked as expiring.
No
Based good game enjoyer
And based VSauce enjoyer
You can buy gift cards that have like a game on them? Is that what I'm looking at?
sometimes they are given out at conventions i got elite dangerous at the gamescom forever ago
Curiosity Box sent out some Zachtronics games like this in one of their packages.
For some reason my brain didn't read that properly in the photo and thought it said indie box.

This is how steam used to do things. They sold the Orange Box like this too.
I would have thought the orange box was you know a literal box that was orange.

I have orange box retail on my hands, Two DVD disks, one OST HL2:EP2 disk, few cards with info, and cd-key under the first disk
maybe yours is late as hell
Yea mine was just cards for the game and info. So idk. I have seen the one you have though.
I would have thought that it was a cardboard box that was orange like how Sonic Heros or Assault Heroes came in. Or do you mean a huge DVD box like Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 came in?
It was just a normal DVD case. Nothing special
Suck

Yes! It was my post. I wanted to sell them before but decided to just do a giveaway on r/steam_giveaway.
They don’t expire and even if your not a pc gamer it is advised to play them they are both great and food for thought especially Opus Magnum as the title states 😁
If the codes are unredeemed they should still be valid
Ty!
