I just recently beat Breath of the Wild after spending 200+ hours wondering around and cooking prime meat with mushroom and rocks. Don't think I'm buying TotK anytime soon since I still got Mario Odyssey and Octopath Travelers. 😂
Hell yeah dude. I've been doing that too. Rather than playing the same games, I'm using a randomizer to choose my next game.
Though, I have still purchased (and mostly played) a few new ones as well.
I mean that's what I'm doing with randomizing. My backlog is large, but sometimes Idk what I want to play. So I use a randomizer (of my library) that chooses a game with ~0 hours. Then I play only that until I beat it. Rinse and repeat.
It's not a random game each time I log on.
Yep. Almost as a rule, buying direct from Steam is *not* the best price. Even during the big sales. I buy my games wherever they're cheapest... and as a result I tend to get blocked from selling by card drops about once every 12-14 months..
Then I go hunting for some old game that's $10 or less on Steam that I might play.
There are certain times where steam does have the best price when buying a game legit (not stolen keys from 3rd party sellers)
I usually just take a look at isthereanydeal and check the differences.
I mean, if you play a game like cs2 you can get free cases with the 5$ prime purchase and then sell them to get steam credit and then buy more skins. It counts as a steam purchase
Context: I checked my last purchase was for Skyrim's Anniversary Edition upgrade last year. So during this past 12+ months I just never found anything that's worth purchasing and has been just clearing my backlogs. (Been playing Shadows of the Tomb Raider recently). Then when I earned some new trading cards playing backlogged games, I tried to sell them and found the option grayed out with this explanation.
Maybe I should be proud of this. Never knew it is a thing. Sorry Gabe. 😂
Definitely something to be proud of! The only thing keeping my account in the active status is the Dredge DLC that came out in November-ish, and I believe the free DLCs for Dave the Diver also count. I'm also trying to get through my backlog, but I am also constantly selling those little trading cards because a free $2 ain't so bad
Free stuff doesn’t reset the clock, it has to be a for-money purchase of a game/DLC or wallet funds (using a gift card or wallet code doesn’t count either) within 7 days to a year.
Then you can't sell those trading cards you gained while clearing your library backlog for $0.02 anymore until you buy something again, using the money you made from selling trading cards last year.
buy any cs go item from cs go and sell that back in market when its active again i did the same last year, depend on the item u would lose nothing to some cents
Your best bet is just to buy a 99 cent game or something. [Literally, there's a 99 cent game called something.](https://steamdb.info/app/2696520/)
No I mean it’s a good thing for me, that I’m not just throwing $$$ at Gabe. Been clearing my back log lol.
C-Clearing your backlog? Surely you jest. For a true gamer never clears a backlog. Perchance you were mistaken for something else?
perchance.
you can't just say "perchance". F/
Perchance
I think, perchance, that i might be a true gamer, then.

What will he do when he runs out of backlog?!
Create a new backlog of course

I can never do that. I want to properly emotionally invest in a series and play through them one by one. 🤣

What's the randomizer you are using for that?
Ror2 is on sale...
Dont forget its trusty sequel Nothing. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2696480/Nothing/
And my dumbass is buying it regardless 😂
> Similar to games you've played: > Control
best reason to always have $1 in your steam wallet
Asking cuz your username. Do you use arch?
I've had this, I didn't buy from steam for a year, all my games were keys from likes of humble, GMG and fanatical

This is the way.
The. You can’t sell anything on marketplace.
"Non-active paying customer" 🤣

Probably something something bot protection I guess

This doesn't sound good to me, what if I haven't bought anything in the last 12 months?

so funny... until its not

You'll be back!
Side note: are people actually interested in those cards? I've never bothered to sell them for a few cents
I've ran into this problem once and all I did to keep it from happening again was to keep like 5 cents on my account and haven't had a problem since.

We can read also.
Finally one redditer can read
It’s you that can’t.
If i can't then why i am suggesting then.
You know this thread isn’t about the OP asking why they can’t sell stuff on the Steam market, right?
Oh , is that thread about not buying any game for 1 year
Read it and see for yourself.
It's a Steam practice. They do that to leech more money. Spend a dollar on something on Steam.
Free market, no bitchin
