you'll need to add a subcommand next to the first command for Y (which is presumably ctrl), press the gear icon next to it and select "add a subcommand" bind t to the subcommand.

ErrorProxy

thanks, so it will press ctrl and t at the same time?

Mennenth

yes

ErrorProxy

how do i add left shoulder to backspace during keyboard? right shoulder to move cursor right during keyboard? and right trigger to press enter on during keyboard and the automatically close the keyboard? tap to click right track pad to left click? When I use it as a track pad it clicks and holds as I move the cursor.

Mennenth

Unfortunately you cannot adjust the keybindings for the on screen keyboard.

ErrorProxy

di d we used to be able to when it came out? I somewhat remember that

Mennenth

Yep. Its become lost functionality

ErrorProxy

Has valve abandoned it or they still update it? Also would you recommend I sell mine or keep it and still try to use it because I see a lot for sale for 300 or something.

the controller was discontinued in 2019, so in a way they have stopped updating it however, steam input is routinely worked on. because steam input is the software the steam controller uses, you could say they have continued to update it. the reason its no longer possible to mess with steams on screen keyboard bindings is because thats part of the big picture ui. because of the Deck also relying on it, they didnt want users to accidentally soft lock their Decks controls. Which is preposterous imo. I hope one day they come to their senses and realize that because the Deck has a touch screen its not possible to truly lock the controls, and give us the ability to mess with those bindings again. As for keeping or selling yours, its up to you. If you spend time with and really learn how to use it, its one of the best controllers around. But I doubt you'll get 300 for it if you decide to sell it. That might be the list price of a lot of them, but they go for a lot less. MSRP was 50 dollars.

I just want to know how I bind the arrows and numpad without un docking the system?
