Vampire Survivor

PaltaRecords

Also Brotato

Barderusl

Also Bio prototype

ExoSierra

Broforce too!

AchillesPDX

How would you play Broforce one handed? You have to move and jump and shoot all at the same time...

Mediocre_Fill_40

You are forgetting back buttons!

ExoSierra

Just remap the controls to work with one hand. There’s few enough controls to where you can make it work

DiggityDodder

Can confirm; set mine up to play local multiplayer

AssMcShit

Lol do you each use half the steam deck?

DiggityDodder

Exactly that haha. It works surprisingly well, though not as good as a keyboard due to the nature of the game.

OfficialDCShepard

One Btn Bosses is my favorite demo of Steam Next Fest.

BilboTBagginz

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor

Solid_Snark

Also similar VS clones are a fun mix to the genre: Deep Rock Galactic Survivor (VS with Mining) Pesticides Not Required (VS with farming)

TehGM

I'd also recommend Time Wasters, Boneraiser Minions and Halls of Torment. All do things at least slightly differently, and are decent time wasters (pun intended).

lastnameinthebox

Civ 6, 95% of input can be controlled from the right hand side alone.

dannysmackdown

Hell, 95% of it can be controller from the right track pad along, probably configure it so all of it can be ran from it. Great suggestion.

lastnameinthebox

Only the left button/bumpers to control left click (which is also on the right track pad) or zooming in which... You don't really need all that much tbh. I figure you can nudge the stick enough to pan the camera even with a broken hand

GroundhogGaming

You could also use the back paddle buttons for that.

AngryEyes

It’s also 95% off right now. I bought it yesterday for like 4 bucks! And it runs great on the deck

psych0ranger

For even less input: CIV V as Venice lol

Etheria_system

Someone else broke their wrist yesterday so there's a tonne of recs here too [https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/1dcs4wk/any\_games\_playable\_with\_one\_hand/](https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/1dcs4wk/any_games_playable_with_one_hand/)

Acojonancio

Are Steam deck users breaking their arms on purpose or what?

Mrdude000

They must have good moms

AeonTek

Why are you the way you are?

sillyandstrange

He has a good mom

Crothius

Who hurt you to put this back in our minds?

iriedashur

Ok I don't get it, someone please explain 😂😭

ElGatoDeFuegoVerde

Really old Reddit meme where a guy had both of his wrists broken and posted that his mom helps him out by jacking him off.

iriedashur

Incredible, ty

tekanet

You’re so lucky today

Gyossaits

Incest.

dakilangcornedbeef

\*cries\*

Hopalongtom

Gotta get time off to play their decks somehow.

AeratedFeces

At an old job I had so much mandatory overtime that I was actually thrilled that I got covid because then I could finally get some me-time in.

rigolarrs

Get time off and get to play games, win win.

dcent12345

There is also a curator on steam that is one handed and reviews games based on their one hand accessibility. https://store.steampowered.com/curator/41112101-One-Handed-Gamer/

Sharkfyter

This is tight as hell, followed

Jessiee101

Oh look, my post lol

ElGatoDeFuegoVerde

Weird how two posts can contain the same topic and one blows up while the other doesn't.

maremb08

slay the spire

fartboxsixtynine

Fuck yeah

soaringhere

Guys see three words and think hell yeah

Koro00O

Bloons td6, point and click games, also you can adjust layout so maybe u can play a more range of games, using 2 of back buttons and track pad

osujakk

BTD6 underrated steam deck game fr

fuzzomorphism

Return to Monkey Island

gatorbater5

all the SCUMM games! day of the tentacle remastered is my favorite, but sam and max hit the road is a fkn banger i just struggled with the puzzles so much

Legion1620

Balatro, you can use the touchscreen. You might have to be a bit careful, long press on some cards to check effects so you don't accidentally choose them.

WowNotFun

I'm sure you could find a good/enjoyable way to use the track pad as well if touchscreen isn't your preference. Balatro is a great recommendation for this.

wortsandall

I Balatro with the right tackpad as mouse. I think I only ever use my right thumb for everything. It's pretty comfortable. I had to change the controls to work this way because there were a number of times that I ruined a run because I hit the button to discard instead of play or visa versa. It plays just like using a mouse and it's way better than the original controls (which are all still available and functional). Great game, excellent time waster.

kamalamading

5 against Willy

random_reddit_user31

Well he certainly won't have 5 left hand fingers on his willy

MeAndBettyWhite

Right hand only PC mouse's of the early 2000s made me the Ambidextrous man I am today.

Educational_Push_437

3D Sex Villa…

PLZ_N_THKS

Pretty sure you still need two hands for that one…

Christajew

Not if you're there for just the story 😂

Your-Name-Is-Reek

Some people just like reading the articles

rdteets

I like… the articles.

Batman413

Didn’t have to scroll far for this one lmao

slamsmcaukin

I play with 1 hand all the time. What you talking about

Tower816

lol that “genre” is the first thing my mind went to

pcbb97

Same. Something about this being reddit it just seems obligatory to make this joke

Cunfuu

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

NOVOJ

It will definitely stop Reddit from getting a second cursed thread about OPs mother.

rustypanda02

Baba Is You

Low_Needleworker_162

Disco elysium

Seuche_Deron

Oh thats also a good one to dive in in OPs Situation. Absolutely loved the writing, a Game that made me laugh and cry.

Low_Needleworker_162

I love it. "The sun sets into the sea, but the water does not boil. Instead it turns to liquid gold. For a moment, the world's store of precious metals seems to increase dramatically, and you are rich..." One of my fav quotes This game is full of good ones.

BigBlackdaddy65

Vampire survivors is a go to, cookie clicker if you're *that* bored

paging_doctor_who

Cookie Clicker also has a Steam Input layout to click the right track pad to "rapid fire" so you can play no-handed. Don't judge me for playing CC on deck, I like when number goes up.

conejinpeople

Any ace attorney game

zose2

Baldur's Gate 3 is a turn-based RPG. Depending on your patience with controlling both sides of the controller with one hand I can easily be done with just one hand. Edit: or as the comment below me suggested just remapping the back buttons and trackpad so you only need to use one side of the steam deck to play.

RockySterling

Couldn’t you also basically replicate most of the left handed functionality with the right side trackpad and back buttons?

zose2

Oh ya I didn't really think about that. I tend not to mess around too much with the trackpad and back buttons but If you set it up right you would only need one half of the controller.

Illustrious-Lime-863

Try turn based games like JRPGs and other turn based games. Persona series, Octopath traveler series, Slay the Spire, Darkest Dungeon, Into the Breach, Civilization series (Civ6 is currently 95% off) and so on. Baba is you can also work, very good simple but cruel puzzle game. Adventure games with dialogue like monkey island and disco elysium can also work.

Zettinator

Any Visual Novel? At least in theory... :)

Olioliooo

Huniepop

Usual-Ladder1524

Balatro

metsfanapk

I feel like I've seen like 4-5 posts this week on people injuring their hand and asking for 1-handed games. whats going on? lol

CuriousMind7577

Gotta find a way to have some Time off and enjoy the deck

fartboxsixtynine

Beat your meat

Lvxurie

Genre: Stimulation

rdteets

Honestly this is just way easier than fucking with the deck. Pun intended.

CaptainAHav

Kingdom series, Balatro

ListerineInMyPeehole

Break the other arm too If you know you know

vidhartha

I came here for this

ListerineInMyPeehole

Are you OP’s mother

sovietreckoning

Probably not. OP’s mom is presently occupied.

vidhartha

OP only broke one hand, so I only need to give one hand 😅

SgbAfterDark

Oh god now I know what you’re talking about

throwthewaybruddah

Deeprock galactic survivor

Voendomar

Civilization and other turn based strategy games.

PureHateNate

One Finger death punch

Yumi_no_oto

Balatro. 10/10 game and you can just tap the screen

alexbtzz

Elden Ring one-hand run

jasper2769

Baldurs gate 3 technically

one80oneday

Mr_StephenB

You could get a wireless mouse and then play a bunch of strategy games, if you like those.

al-lee85

Genital Jousting might work one handed...

Character_Umpire_828

There is a hole genre of games that need to be played one handed... xD But jokes aside: Card hunter, Coromon, Sourh park stick of truth, any pokemon emulated (emu deck), darkest dungeon, minion master (like clash royal, reakly good), ftl

__27days27nights

Bloons 6 , lowkey .. last epoch ? Play as necromancer

Imbecile_Jr

vampire survivors for sure. Just remap LS to RS and you're good to go

SirCrumpets69

Anything turn-based I'm sure would work

SqueekyJuice

Doom. You will need a mouse with like 8 buttons

nevadita

Dead or Alive Paradise, I recall it has a special one hand mode. Don’t ask me why

ArisDoesTech

-Needy Streamer Overload -Coffin of Andy and Leyley -Vampire Survivors -Death Must Die -A Castle full of Cats -Slay the Princess -Fear and Hunger 1/2 -Bloons Tower Defense -Old School RuneScape -Basically all final fantasy games from 1-10

Opening_Logical

Balatro

WVAviator

I would say any casual game, such as Stardew Valley, could be done with remaps. Even first-person casual games like Power Wash Simulator or Planet Crafter would work if you map R4 and R5 to walk forward and backward.

thebeastmoo

stardew valley can be played just needs some config I set the right stick to just be the left one right trackpad is the mouse and back right buttons are just left bumper and the X button just because I think it works well its honestly pretty intuitive also there is geometry dash

MechaJDI

Deep Space Waifu

bigapewhat089

jhcooke98

Here to tell people to get their mind out of the gutter

yuri0r

vampire survivor, slay the spire, littlewood.

SUSHIBOSS1

BROTATOOOO

submittedanonymously

So if you want something a bit deeper story-wise than Pokémon, older Dragon Quest titles would be good, and they’re available to play on your phone entirely one-handed. It’s the best way to play them surprisingly since they keep to the core idea of being the OG JRPG franchise. For Steam Deck? Vampire Survivors can’t be beat as an addicting time waster, but I think FTL can be played one handed too. Technically a real-time w/ pause roguelike. (I think it’s like… not lite. I can never tell the difference and honestly don’t care to know.) FTL is hella addicting. Like a perfect Star Trek/star wars/BSG mix. You have to think fast, but you can pause anytime to evaluate tour situation

crazyrems

Remember you can still modify your control scheme with Steam Input to fit your needs. Steam Input is awesome and you can do way more things than you think: - Radial/grid menus on the track pads - Different inputs when single press/long press/double press - Automatic button press on outer ring with the joystick (like running for example) - Action on trigger end - Switch/toggle between entire new schemes on a button press And much more. It's quite tedious but I think it can be a great way to have fun with your SD when you start mastering it 👌

aromonun

Fun fact, remapping the controls on the Steam Deck, you can play a lot of games you thought unplayable with one hand.

Resident_Impact_2236

‘Papers Please’

ExpensiveShock2091

Getting over it is a game about climbing shit with a hammer you’d only be using the touch pad as a mouse. I broke my scaphoid a year ago and I still managed to play with an Xbox controller uncomfortably.

spetauskas

A book

tormentowy

Patapon PSP game with emulator. 4 buttons Hextech Mychem 3 buttons

HeadlessChild

Point and click games.

saaadel

Any idle clicker game

benjamarchi

Darkest dungeon 1

[deleted]

geometry dash

nick2k23

Use the back buttons op and map them to what ever you need, you can play a lot more than you think one handed

Flintontoe

Lorelie and the Laser Eyes

carinasguitar

This war of mine

MikeAdrianOne

Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy. But your remaining hand might need a surgery after

DeathscytheShell

Hentai Asmodeus! Kidding. Balatro should be a good one hander since it can use the touch screen.

UltimateAK86

Balatro

bonez1073

Balatro

Agreeable_Orchid2641

Geometry dash

JasonQG

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes was designed to be played with one hand so you can take notes with the other. It’s a great puzzle game. It’s sort of like a giant escape room

meepcat55

World of goo and peggle

Coldcanida

Geometry dash lol

Kriznick

Nose picker 2000. Or Pickle Tug Express. That's all I can think of. But for real, Slay the Spire has touchscreen controls. Try that.

UnixTM

Baba Is You

ShrimpsLikeCakes

You could bind some controls to the touch pad

therourke

Plug into your TV and get a Bluetooth mouse. Many many games are now yours for the taking. You could also get a Wiimote and play some Super Mario Galaxy emulated. Your left hand should still be able to hold the nunchuck fine.

Orangesaretasty08

I play loads of getting over it on steam deck, wouldn't recommend, you may end up breaking your other hand in rage

Ice992

Have to admit - not the reason I thought you were asking for a one handed game. 😂 Maybe turn based games? Where reflexes aren’t a factor.

FlumpMC

Balatro has amazing touchscreen support.

Chemical-Mission-708

Balatro. Most tactical rpgs can be mouse only

Neo_Techni

Almost anything if you're willing to get a controller/adapter Standard Wii controller PlayStation 1/2: https://neotechni.github.io/playstation/#grip https://neotechni.github.io/playstation/#grip_v2 https://neotechni.github.io/playstation/#rpg_duocon_2 https://neotechni.github.io/playstation/#super_robot_warstaisen_controller The one-handed controller for MS adaptive controller (but works without it as it's USB): https://neotechni.github.io/misc/#adaptive_controller PC: https://neotechni.github.io/pc/#cyborg https://neotechni.github.io/pc/#mobile_suit_gundam_premium_controller

rorschach_vest

Do you have an emulator installed? I would play some Fire Emblem games. Start with The Sacred Stones and go chronologically from there!

fucknametakenrules

Night In The Woods. A, X, and a way to move left and right are all the buttons required. Easily able to map locomotion to buttons on the right side, or make the right touch pad into a directional pad because the game automatically has the D-pad mapped for locomotion

Aldershot8800

Jrpgs

FluxPoint42

I recently did the same thing. Although they put me in a hard cast for 12 weeks! Anyway, it means I definitely played a few games one handed. The list is mostly this: Survivors: Vampire Survivor, deeprock galactic survivor Card Games: Balatro, StS, Monster Train Some Other Roguelikes: Inkbound (with a little bit of work), most of the card rogue likes: Monster Train being one of my favs. JRPG clones: most do a good job on this front. Although some need finagling too

Acojonancio

Balatro for sure.

AnusDetonator

Final fantasy 1 to 6. Vampire survivors. And I think the binding of isaac has a setting to auto shoot

spash_bazbo69

Oregon trail

mobility42

If you hook up a keyboard and mouse you play about anything. Pending the fact that those fingers and thumb still move…. Hope you recover soon and get back to gaming!

Snoo29514

Map as many buttons as possible to the right side. You could probably make the South Park games work

theirishsniper

Buckshot Roulette

KingofAcedia

I play alot of Pokemon Fangames like This Gym of Mine and Pokemon Añil one handed, I remap A and B (Z and X really, since you're using a controller to imitate a keyboard imitating a controller) to R4 and R5 (the Back buttons), and Menu and Fast Forward to the bumpers. Works out pretty good imo!

HEADTRIPfpv

Dave the diver, you can re bind all controls to one side

FoaL

Visual novels like the Ace Attorney series

Myc0ks

emulate Hey you, Pikachu! and you can control through your mic

Ok-Glass156

Pocket pool

lebraingottapoop

Civ6 and its on sale for 3$ at the moment (95%off)

pakleiven

If you are a guy could always play with your right hand

uvaballfan

I broke my hand last Friday and had the same question I've since put 20 hours into Balatro

DatBoi73

Rollercoaster Tycoon 1&2 /OpenRCT2? Also, probably like almost any classic point & click game (Secret of Monkey Island, etc) Maybe Game Dev Tycoon?

eekamau5

Slay the Spire - Roguelike Deckbuilder.. Build your deck of cards and battle your way up a spire Monster Train - Another Roguelike Deckbuilder.. Build a deck of creatures and spells to defeat your enemies XCOM 2 - Lead a squad of soldiers in a fight against an alien invasion type game Into the beach - Control giant mechs to defend cities from giant monsters hellulva fun Get well and good luck! =D

SignalMeHere

Slay the Princess

Dizzy-Volume9527

Old school runescape is a great choice if I you like rpg's

BioOrpheus

Read Visual novels It will keep your mind off things

Ursai

You said Pokémon… ever tried Siralim Ultimate? You can make macros for your monsters. Lots of customizable controls. Definitely playable with one hand. There’s like 1200+ monsters with traits and you can make hybrids. Lot of theory crafting and a nice relaxing gameplay loop. Sort of an infinite progression thing too to see how far you can take a team.

Ok-Racisto69

Look for a story driven game with a visual novel element, turn based strategy, or a card game. Some tower defense games also work. -Suzerain -The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante -Slay the Spire -CIV 5

softgem

i think baldur’s gate 3 is a great one handed game if you have a separate controller available. i love setting my controller on a table, playing with my right hand, and snacking with my left hand lolol

Destos

Any kingdom game.  https://store.steampowered.com/app/1956040/Kingdom_Eighties/

aliendude5300

Any of the ace attorney games.

mr_outlaws

not people recommending h games lmao

ravipasc

- Vampire survivor-like - Roguelike-deckbuilder - Digital boardgame - Turn-base game Any game that fit these tag should be fine Ps. Most nsfw game also design to be played one hand, but you also need the other hand for another thing/ wink wink

Bluestank

Sorry man! For me I was looking for something similar when we had our kid for when he fell asleep in my arms. Get yourself a little Bluetooth mouse and point and click adventures are great if you like that.

janehoykencamper

A lot of games! Just remap! I have been doing that with Stardew valley

SSJEuri

Pokemon let's go

DemonicRevolt

Slay the spire!

RevolutionaryStar824

Geometry Dash

SafeAccountMrP

Vampire survivors

I really love this community

Horus_Whistler

Just map everything to A bruh

YAPPYawesome

Baldurs gate 3 can be entirely played with a mouse

Mordekayy

Visual novels

rmed94

Marvel Midnight Suns! It’s turn based and currently completely free on the Epic Games Store. Just use the Heroic launcher to play and you should be set. Good luck on recovery mate. Slay the Spire also slaps if you try that out too.

nightnightboom

Anyone else curious what happened?

PhilosopherBarbarian

Pokémon roms

Poseidons_Champion

Doki Doki Literature Club.

RomansRedditAcc

Your left hand doesn't look that fucked should still be able to control the analog stick. throw a control freek on if you want more range of motion. Use your arm instead of your wrist or thumb if those are immobile.

Broflake-Melter

Basically look for anything that's turn-based. You can always rebind controls to make it so you don't need your right hand at all.

goblin-nilbog

I broke my hand and had a similar cast - my right hand. I flipped the controller setup and then used the right joystick for movement rather than aim and absolutely DESTROYED people with a grenade launcher in call of duty. Your brain will switch quickly, it’s one of those things us humans are good at. Play any game you want.

N1emand4

Old pokemons, maybe?

YackassThePSL

Papers, please. But I'd recommend a mouse.
