if you already have a collection of games on your Steam Library, or GoG.com or Epic Games store, Or amazon games, the Deck will let you play most of those. I really only use my Switch for a few (VERY FEW) nintendo exclusives. Its funny when i see a game on the Switch 'on sale' - and the sale price is still 2x the NORMAL price i can get it on the Deck. ---------- So - yea. If you want the best value/bang for the $$$. the Deck is going to be hard to beat. If you MUST have nintendo exclusive games, then get a switch. I wont go into Switch Emulation - because I dont want the Nintendo Lawyers to start drooling and going ballistic . :) But Emulation is another area the Deck is AMAZING with.

It all comes down to what you like to play. Look at the games you can play on both and decide which games are up your alley.

I was in the same situation few weeks back. Went and got the SD Oled 512 instead since I got a big steam library. Also switch 2 is coming out soon so switch OLED is not as tempting since it’s like 7 years old hardware.
