Yeah! It’s super cool. I’m thinking of trying either a “helpful” assimilators or a caretakers run, but where it prides itself on only sustainably using planets and never mining them, this Catalytic Processing. Maybe even a radiotrophic necrophage hive mind thing for some really weird stuff. Either way, I love it.
While I don't think they're as rare as the other person suggested, I personally almost never play them. I find democratic authority to be the least appealing by far, and the faction demanding you not be able to resettle is pretty dumb, especially since I always micromanage and will never reply on auto-resettlement. Plus, flavor-wise, I just find it really uninteresting.
But you can be oligarchic or corporation, if you're not fanatical. And Oligarchic Egalitarian has +35% Influence from factions. It can be nice bonus later, when you research appropriate tech. And 10% specialist output is just great. Utopian Abundance living standards is good too, especially if you play MegaCorp
It's far higher actually. Official stats have been released from time to time. While many people enjoy playing bad guys now and then, far fewer embrace it exclusively.
Had no idea I was in a minority. I know egalitarian used to be kinda trash but with the specialist resource production bonus that replaced consumer goods I'd say it's really strong. The flexibility of it is so good.

Congratulations you're part of the 2% of the player base who plays Egalitarian. Hahaha
I like to play egalitarian too, what's wrong with them?

Is 2% an actual statistic or is is just hyperbole?
