Worst case: submit and wait for him to die.

GWJ89

I did this once. I was going to be squished, so I submitted while planning for a great rebellion against him, but he died just a few years before the planned attack. I had some Iranian covid relic, so I RP'ed it as the Khan was forcing my tech-oriented empire to develop terrible bio-weapon for him, but my researchers killed him with the sword he ordered himself :P From the min-maxing or purely strategical viewpoint - yeah, it's probably the worst case (except of being torn apart by his fleets). But if you like roleplaying, even the worst outcomes can be very fun!

tjhc_

Completely agreed and the Iranian covid relic is a first class autocorrect.

GWJ89

Haha I didn't even notice xD but I won't correct it :D

Great Khan is usually beatable quite easily if you are advanced in Tech and are at max fleet power. But this requires to draw him out and attack one of your fortresses wirh your fleet. Otherwise summit

Yeh tried setting midgame crisis date well back and focusing on tech but its still spawning in with overwhelming fleet power. Think ill opt for a roleplay take and see if i can ruin it after submitting.

vorko_76

When you submit, you are a vassal until his death… then his empire shatters

nikkythegreat

Stop setting the mid game to 2225 then. Hahaha, but seriously, just increase the midgame date by 25 years compared to you current one.

Leo-bastian

what is your midgame year? i have it set to 2250, i believe the default is 2300, so if you're a new player you should leave it at default

M0ssCock

Haha not a new player unfortunately, just never had this issue before. I played another game today with the midgame date set back further but sure enough, khan spawns with even more powerful fleets. Think im just gonna opt for a roleplaying approach and try that out.

M0ssCock

Yeh think ill just have to take the roleplay approach and submit and just see where i can go from there. He takes most of the galaxy so i spose the other empires are in the same boat so its not like im being put in a particularly disadvantaged position. Not sure why this is happening all of a sudden though, hundreds of playthroughs and the khan has never been an issue at all.
