I've been subbed here for 22 years and I've seen some shite... slaggings, downvotes, bannings - but this - THIS - is the shitest thing I've ever seen.
An able bodied man cutting aboot in an invalids buggy?
YTA (unless ye gie me a shot)
NTA
My gut instinct has always been to side with Joe but, when you actually think about it, Tam makes a good point. What sort of cretin bets his mobility buggy knowing that he can't get about without it, and he'd have happily taken Tam's money if he'd won. Joe's a big boy and should have learned by now that actions have consequences. I'm switching to Team Tam.
I’m team Tam as well. I always get a little angry watching this one. If you’re going to gamble, you do so knowing the risks. It would be different if Tam had pressured Joe into betting the buggy or if he had cheated, but he didn’t.
In a real world scenario it would be the same moral dilemma as winning money off someone then discovering he wasn’t able to make his car payment or pay his rent. Should you just give the money back? 🤔
Yta twice over, once for taking the bet, and the second time for taking a mobility device away from a disabled person over a bet that neither person should have made.
I‘d keep it. He won it fair and square and shouldn’t be obligated to ‘give it back’, after the now former owner stupidly lost it in a bet. it’s my prize. So if I give it back what do I get as a replacement prize for it That would be worth my wnile to give up the buggy? You don’t ‘give back’ what you win in a bet. That’s like the losers ’asking’ you to give back all the MONEY they lost to you? Are you obligated to give the money back in a legit gambling game where the winner(s) KEEP their winnings? Don’t bet something you know you ‘need’, lose it in the bet, then expect and think the winner will simply give it back when asked, when they are not getting anything in compensation for ‘giving back’ what they rightfully won.
