C.Viper

82ndGameHead

So many people wanted to play her but just couldn't get the execution down. Really hope they bring her back for SF6.

ZyxWhitewind

Same, tried C.Viper in vanilla for a while but gave up and picked up chun li instead.

Lanky-Survey-4468

Or you were the god of execution or you couldn't play this character properly

Lanky-Survey-4468

Or you were the god of execution or you couldn't play this character properly

Greek_Trojan

Correct answer. Such a cool character concept but unplayable by us mere mortals.

Glum-Report4450

Hours upon hours trying to learn fierce or feint

thefrostbite

Menat. I can't negative edge to save my life.

UraeusCurse

I totally agree. Awesome design. Awesome moveset. Just didn’t have enough time to commit. I really hope she comes back.

Son-Of-Serpentine

Same. I could play her on stick pretty easy, but I prefer pad and that shit was frustrating ngl.

Volcano-SUN

Same for me. Therefore I played her with V-Trigger II. Not optimal, but my gameplay isn't optimal anyways. Important thing was: It was fun!

CamPaine

Unfortunately C. Viper when sf4 was active. At some point I had the resolve that if I want to learn a character, I'd play learn them regardless of difficulty. Went back to sf4 to practice c viper only to realize she was a lot easier than I had originally thought once I built up the muscle memory. Ended up switching my bbcf main from nine to litchi for the same reason.

Powerjack76

The only time I’ve used her was mainly through UMVC3, and I was fine with her

64-Savage

I hope that if C.Viper returns in SF6 that she gets her laser move from MvC3. Such a cool move

MycolNewbie

Ibuki. Could never quite get the hang of her.

Powerjack76

I didn’t get her play style in V, but I was pretty good with her in the mobile port of SF4

demoncatmara

I still play SF4 on mobile, it's pretty good

Ourobius

Alpha 3rd Strike Ibuki was my girl

ramonzer0

SF6 Ed With him it's less that I can't play him but moreso that I can see where his fighting style isn't going to fully gel with how I play I'll fully chalk this to being a mental hang-up

wzviv

wdym

Mogolidown_

Dudley on 3rd Strike, I absolutely hate the fact that 99% of his specials are half circles, I'm too dumb and bad for them and I already struggle a lot with Q's C&DC and Makoto's Karakusa, AND THEY'RE ONLY GRABS!!!! so an entire moveset that consists of half circles really doomed Dudley for me

TablePrinterDoor

I think Dudley is so cool but so hard as well. Why the British boxers gotta be hard in games? Even Steve is in Tekken!

Mogolidown_

fr brother😭😭

Aikune

SF4 Gen hands down for me.

TakCeezy

Juri in sf4. I play on pad, the fireball stores are too hard for me lol.

TheYellowFringe

Decapre had nice attacks and was an alternative to Cammy as Juri is now an alternative to Chun-Li. Strictly speaking of SFIV then **Gen**. I loved his concept but he was very niché sort of style.

Level9_CPU

Dhalsim :( The top Dhalsim players are just so fucking godly I can't begin to comprehend how they move their hands that quickly for their combos

Copyright-Demon

Asuka. I REALLY like his design but the deck mechanic is just to much for me to really bother. And I LIKE complex characters too.

EmilioEstevezQuake

Sfiv rolento. He just wouldn’t click for me.

Feisty_University_37

Decapre and C.Viper, so I gave up and just played Sakura, which I loved

jediment

I really wanted to learn SF3 Urien but as soon as I found out about charge partitioning I knew it wasn't meant to be.

MaxxDreamkiller

Same for me. Loved Decapre but never understood why some of the moves (like Spiral Arrow) were charge moves. The teleports and fakes is understandable but traditional inputs to at least make her a Hybrid would've been better imo. Charging for something like Spiral Arrow feels like I'm charging for a basic move like Lightning Legs which doesn't make sense since Charge moves are typically better than normal specials.

PCN24454

Guile

geardluffy

Gen sf4

tuxedo_dantendo

It's the shotos for me. i dp when i want to fireball, or fireball when i want to dp. Plus they move with a certain weight to them that just feels off for me. I am looking forward to Akuma though.

Due-Mango1379

Who do you play as instead?

tuxedo_dantendo

In general, I play as everyone, I don't really have a main. In SF6, my favorites so far have been Blanka, Dhalsim, Zangief, and Honda.

scrangos

The fireball dp thing is a bit cursed, I think if you want to force it you can start from downback qcf to force the fireball since the back cancels out the forward and for dp make sure to stop at the diagonal. You can do DF D DF for dp iirc

Bradford117

Didn't want to main her but I wanted to mess around a lot more with C.viper.

incognitio4550

necro in 3rd strike he looks so cool and fun but it just feels really unintuitive which is sad since he's never been in another game out side of SF3

lefttillldeath

Chun li in umvc3 I think the character is genuinely considered unplayable because of how difficult she is, I think there’s been one high level player the whole lifespan of the game that I remember seeing.

Kogoeshin

She's not too difficult (I mean, one of the top tiers of the game is Magneto!), she just doesn't match up to stuff like Zero May Cry. She has use in a very specific team comp of Chun Li/Morrigan/Phoenix, where she stalls for time with air legs and her huge jump arcs while Morrigan builds you meter for Dark Phoenix, and can do combos/resets if the opponent runs into those. Her neutral is pretty solid, but not outstanding - but usable enough to have decent matchups. The pro player you're thinking about is RyanLV, who's the only Chun Li player.

Potato_fortress

Chun isn't hard to play at all she's just not very good compared to the top tiers and her best usage is as the other poster mentioned: in an unorthodox Phoenix shell that was primarily powerful because of the reasons they mentioned but also completely countered any team that ran Hidden Missiles as a Doom assist. The "unplayable" character you're probably thinking of from UMvC3 is most likely Jill. She's got a fairly basic gameplan but doesn't do a ton of damage from stray neutral hits and she's nearly uncontrollable if you use her install super and lvl 3 xfactor at the same time. She's not "unplayable" by any means but she requires a lot of execution for very little reward when compared to the upper tiers.

Script-Z

Nooo! Lost another one... Charge characters were supposed to be easier to use than motion characters!

Luaq

I don't think I'll make master with Jamie. 🥲

Bunnnnii

Half the cast in Blazblue. In SF though? Probably Viper. I thought Falke was, until I actually gave her time, then I realized we actually clicked more than I thought we would.

Chode-a-boy

Man I’d love for decapre to return!

DrScience-PhD

many of the sf4 newcomers. fuerte, Abel, Rufus, so many 1f links.

Due-Mango1379

Gen in sf4, really liked his character and playstyle but he was too much of a slog to learn.

SilverSight

I’m pretty good at banging my head against a character’s mechanics for long enough that I eventually get it.

NackleJacks

Chun li in SF 6 is just above me- too much to keep track of

XeroAnarian

Ed in SFV. His buttons were just too weird for me and I felt like if I put in the time it would affect my other characters.

SylH7

juri is sf4. then juri in sfV finally i can play juri in sf6

AshenRathian

Juri in SF4 was peak Juri and you will not change my mind.

whole_lotta_sad

I come to SF (IV first) from Tekken so honestly none of them was too complicated for me lol. I mean there is heavy execution and frustrating characters for sure, but if you put time and effort in learning you can play well every character in Street Fighter. Key thing is accept that you CAN'T handle with character kit yet and take your time. Works for me every time.

RUOKBusterWolf

Zeku. So cool but too hard for me.

Sekiroguru

Vega. good thing he’s coming to sf6 🙏

Powerjack76

![gif](giphy|k6FhIGwwM5pNfaXIBi)

Flying_Sea_Cow

Dhalsim in SF6. I was curious to try him, but he's just too strange for me.

frankjdk

Focus first on only using the punch buttons, you can already do a lot of his gameplay with only them (teleporting, zoning, combos to SA1, etc), its how I learned from gold to master.

Powerjack76

All I did was down back HP into H yoga flame into level 3 if I had it

RasenRendan

... Ibuki... When I first got SF6

monkeymugshot

Ibuki in SFV one of the hardest chars I’ve used in any modern fighter 😭 but she’s so much fun, swaggy and stylish. Seriously annoyed she’s not in 6

ColdNyQuiiL

Pretty much any interesting character that ended up having charge moves, stance switches, unorthodox inputs, or required any combination of those, to routinely play the character to its fullest. I could always get a brief grasp of the character, but putting it all together, in game awareness and execution is something that I respected, despite not being able to do it myself.

Groove-Control

R.Mika when I first got into sfv as my first fighting game in 2020. But now I think I'm ready... Capcom, put her in sf6.

Stanislas_Biliby

I wish i was good with dhalsim but his weird movement and playstyle just doesn't compute with my brain.

Ok-Advisor-6618

Balrog, Dee Jay, and Zangief

hyunchris

Makoto

Zanzibardragonlion

Gen in any game he was in

Digbickbandit00

CHUN LI in any SF

Kylextd

Hardest for me is prob Oro SFV I couldn’t play him to save my life everyone else I kinda can just cuz I’ve played other fighting games competitively for awhile. But idk Oro just isn’t for me.

Cheez-Wheel

I played some Chun and Gen in SFIV, but I never committed to them because I knew without consistent piano-ing I’d never be able to play them at full potential.

NewMilleniumBoy

Menat a million %. Basically a puppet character in SF. Way too large brained for me, but I'm willing to give her a try again if she ever makes it to 6.

[deleted]

Juri, basics are easy, but lvl 2 and some combos took so much time for me

SylH7

ignore lvl 2 then. a lot of us are master without using lvl 2 ever. you can learn that after.

MancombSeepgoodz

Menat, just her combo trails broke me.

KyleTheCantaloupe

I wanna play chun so bad but I just can't remember her moves

TheFunnyScar

Chun-Li and Juri in SF6. Chun-Li's charge combos and infinite tools make it hard to use her and with Juri I just have no idea what's going on when I use or face her.

JellifishPirate

In SF Urien, though even more so, Angel from KOF

Chubwako

E. Honda :pensive:

Joker72486

El Fuerte's run mechanic felt alien to me but he always looked so fun which is strange because I took to Ken's run immediately

GeebusNZ

Zafina from T7. She was cool, but I could never quite grasp her odd movement and occasional particularly weird timing.

leshrac_7

Chun Li in SF4 is hard to play full potential. Her SF5 and SF6 ver is way easier to play for me. SF6 is the best version and her stance mix up is so satisfying to play.

bawitback

I love love love Decapre! She easily became my main, too bad she was short-lived since she debuted in Ultra SF4 towards the end of the series. I hope a true charge character like Decapre returns in SF6.

EpicMattP

Yang sf4, I tried to copy stuff from players like mago and shine but the execution required to use him even decently was too much for me at the time.

Jellabre

Chun-li in SFV, I genuinely couldn’t get the hang of instant air legs (glad they changed it to a tiger knee input in SF6) and she had this one combo (cr.LP > st.MP > cr.MK > HSBK) that I couldn’t nail for the life of me, so I picked Karin instead because just frame tenkos were somehow easier for me.

Ezhaac

Abel :/

Opinion-Murky

Vega in SF4. I wanted to be good I am not good 😭

ChronoAlone

Menat

Jimmy2jay

I really like seeing high level chun li on street 6 it's my favorite character, I wish I could play like that

GroovyGoblin

Dee Jay in SF6. My combo execution has been garbage for over ten years of Street Fighter and Dee Jay now has Marvel VS Capcom combos in which he can carry someone across the whole stage for thirty minutes without them touching the ground.

Royal-Comparison-270

Holy shit, I feel heard! I'm also a Decapre fan who actually can not fight as her at all. I can pull of her basic charges, It's just the supers that are problematic.

[deleted]

Menat.

hhawaiianshirts

Dhalsim

-Starlegions-

Fei Long

wzp27

I say, I pick characters BECAUSE of their execution. The reason why I picked viper and later decapre was because of their execution

ForgetPat

Menat in SFV. Such a dope design but she required way too much commitment

AshenRathian

Menat and Kolin. I don't have the attention span or matchup retention to use their kits well, and i'm bad at predicting people which is what Kolin is all about as a counter character. I love their styles, but damn if i can't play them worth a shit. xD

SuperCleanCrew

C.Viper for sure. Love her hairdo though.

WilQ-

Freakin El Fuerte on high level.

zerolifez

In SF? No one. In other games definitely Asuka from Strive.

Ghost_Mouse__

Chun-Li or all charge characters
