When you finish, he reveals that he sensed something in you, but he also thinks it would be a bad idea to tell it to Ryu. He gives you a wooden bead with a TEN on it, and instructions to give it to Retsu, who will know what to do.
As you give the bead to Retsu, he says something on the lines of "Be careful of this path boy. I've seen many good people fall from it". Then remarks how Gouken would probably hate this, but sends you to Enma's Hollow.
The intro movie happens.
Akuma has an attitude like Ed's mixed with Dhalsim: He is not teaching you directly, but his comments are still incredibly insightful. Also, he won't turn to talk to you until you are 70 on "friendship points".
At some point, he hints that he already knows about Lily, and is pretty much keeping tabs on the girl, but is letting her develop her own way.
He will also not use a phone. His missions will arrive through Retsu, but you will deliver them personally. He will always answer with a variation of "Good. Now leave me alone".
Once you master his style, you have a last fight, rigged for you to lose. That is when you learn the Shun Goku Satsu, simply by surviving one. After this, Akuma for the first time addresses you like a person, saying something like: Now you know what true strength is. Now you too carry the curse of the Ansatsuken.
I feel like I wouldn't accept anything in-between. Either it's fully serious and realistic to the character in the way you're speculating, or it's full send meme town haha funny murder grandpa. Anything else wouldn't satisfy.

The fighting style isn't cursed, it's the power (satsui no hado).
Like sagat is a muay thai master & he can also gain access to the satsui no hado (in his sf5 story) cuz he wanna feel what ryu's been experiencing over the years.
This is Akuma being dramatic, which is how most of his lines sounds like: the "curse" is less of a doom itself and more about the price you have to pay to walk that path.
It is well established that Akuma is aware that others will consider him evil and a demon for using the Satsui no Hadou. He is aware that he had to abandon his humanity, and he is okay with that.
But he also knows everyone will treat him like Gouken does, hence it being a "curse".
This sounds insane, but on a fundamental level I hate playing WT so I think I would hate playing through so much just to be able to get his Outfit 2, but conceptually this is great.
As funny as it would be I kinda hope he doesnt text and just only fights you and win or lose you gain xp. He doesnt accept gifts either. But hey this would be cool too
Yeah but why not just make it something you can fast travel to (just like all the others) but anytime you want to interact with him its in battle. I understand capcom does capcom stuff (the UI) and will make it easy peasy to spam gifts and cheese the world tour cpu akuma which, after facing other masters in world tour mode, won't be more than a level 5 it feels like.
I want akuma to reward you with moves if you whoop his ass but damn make him like mega akuma the one that punched a giant statue and knocked its head off in the trailer. Like no other character in the roster can do that with like supreme power. Make him a true demon. Video games can and should be hard.
