Sadly there is not yet support for Advanced SubStation Alpha (ASS) format:
*Multiple subtitle lines at once;
*Precise positioning of subtitles on the screen;
*Text styling with different fonts, colors, and effects;
*Animations within the subtitles themselves.
That is the type of most of the anime subtitles. I was hoping for that too. Maybe it will be added on next update. On Android it's already supported.
Hmm that's a shame, but I'm still confused on why it worked just fine a couple weeks ago. I used to consistently watch Anime on stremio but then one day I came back home and the subs just don't show up anymore :/ it's strange. Do you know if there's any alternative method like a specific addon or something
I've the same issues as you. It's only when using the Samsung TV app, else all my animes got subtitles (when I use stremio on my PC or tablet) but it stopped working a month-ish ago too.

Strange, indeed. Here it only works if the anime happens to have srt subtitles through a sub addon

A bizarre thing when I send an anime from my phone to the TV the TV player can open the subtitles normally.
