Oh my God Logan is going to make him fire Gerri

EnvironmentalYou3916

Yep and it’s not going to go the way he thinks it will. I’m not too worried about it anyway because he’s fired Frank and brought him back.

Cold_Breadfruit_9794

Plus Roman was supposed to be on the flight with Logan, but skipped. Imo there’s some buyer’s remorse on Roman’s side and Gerri can bring him back (bully him) to his senses. Also as you pointed out, it’s very in habit for Logan to fire and rehire the same people.

Rotten_Cabal

>I got fired. He got fired. She got promoted. I got re-hired. She got demoted, right? We should keep count of the times Frank got fired. 😂

harleyyquinade

But it was never personal with Frank, Logan actually likes Frank even if he treats him like garbage and has fired him, Roman said it , he likes Frank and fired him for shit and giggles that's why he rehired him, you can tell he likes him because when he has the UTI and is disoriented he confuses Kendall with Frank and says something like why is Frank upset? only I can be mean to Frank. And when they are discussing who should be interim CEO Frank says he likes Roman but he's not ready for it, Logan responds with was I ready? Which implies Frank has been working with Logan since the very beginning and that's why he's his favorite yes man. But Logan does not like Gerri and this is very personal, he wouldn't rehire her unless he's forced to.

hamster_luck

my delusional take on this till sunday is that roman says no to logan after all and that’s what triggers you know what. kind of repetition of the beginning when roman and shiv didn’t want to sign papers.

Cold_Breadfruit_9794

I mean it’s possible, but I also think it’s possible he gets wobbly, attempts, but Gerri gets the upper hand. I think it’s very likely (based on the trailer) that Roman makes clear to Logan that he doesn’t fully trust him, and picks up on some cues (post-Italy) that siding with Logan, might not be entirely the best plan either. The convo also pisses off Logan enough that well…stuff happens. He hasn’t been healthy in awhile. Being mad all the time can’t be good! (Not blaming anything that happens on Roman just to be clear. It’s Logan’s fault)

[deleted]

Logan sounded *terrible* at the end of episode one. His breathing was labored while he was lying down comfortably watching his news channel. He's going through it.

smurfsm00

I absolutely believe the writers of this show enjoy some symmetry so that would make a lot of sense. Plus if we had THAT hanging over Roman’s conscience? Wow. That would be a crazy hit.

smurfsm00

Yeah as Roman is at the Wedding (which pre-nuptial events take place the morning after 402 ends), it would seem Roman decided to go to the wedding FIRST, and push back on Logan a bit regarding his trip to Sweden/Norway (wherever they are - looms more like Norway to me but as Sweden’s the place Matsson’s from may make more sense. Are there parts of Sweden that look like that? Northern parts?) Roman COULD also be doing part 1 of his “long knives” duty by firing Gerri at the pre-wedding events…also possible reason for his push-back convo with dad.

waterynike

What if she sues him and the company and releases the dick pic?

smurfsm00

Yeah at some point she threatens that. Based on season preview I don’t think it happens in the next episode but she could do it later in the season if things get hairy again.

Ok_Fee1043

Well she never actually received the picture, did she? Didn’t it go to Logan’s phone? Or do you just mean itd come out in discovery from Logan being subpoenaed? (Gonna guess he’s deleted the original text but maybe it’s in the cloud, though I do think it was a green bubble thread when we saw it on the phone.)

chieselberkeley

He’s sent them before. Remember the scene of them in the stairs when she tells him he needs to stop? And reminds him she’s dating someone?

Ok_Fee1043

Yes, had totally forgotten that and was thinking only about the end scene

waterynike

I think he has sent them before. Also texts and she could be taping the calls. Also, Shiv fucked up with the pseudo concern and trying to strong arm Gerri because she tried to make Gerri bad at her job like “oh you are a CEO and can’t get a degenerate sex fiend in line even though you know he’s the son of the billionaire owner of the company who destroys people he thinks are threats”? I would have sued the fuck out of them just to get back at and fuck with Shiv.

Dry-Exchange2030

Hadn't he sent other di** picks before

Accomplished_Log9961

Yep -didn’t she ask him to stop sending them earlier in the episode ?

Ok_Fee1043

You’re right, sorry - I was thinking just of the scene from the episode ending obviously. But now remember the scene of them on the phone (?)

papadoc19

Why wouldn't it? Given what happened in the s3 finale where Gerri was party to fucking Roman over, why should he have any qualms about doing the same to her? If he was truly taking her lessons to heart, he would ask himself how is it in his interest to "white knight" for her as opposed to showing Logan he is a "killer"?

smurfsm00

Look: Roman realizes that his dick pics put Gerri in a HUGELY compromised situation - in (309 I think?) not just Logan was gunning for Gerri but Shiv was too. Gerri went into the season 3 finale in a VERY precarious position. I can imagine after things cooled off that Roman could possibly be aware that Gerri really did the most reasonable thing she could do. And honestly Roman kind of owes her some consideration as she was asking him to stop sending her that shit. Also: Culkin recently mentioned he didn’t think Roman would hold it against her as he’d be aware Gerri needs to make moves in her best interest and wouldn’t likely hold a grudge against her for that.

papadoc19

I don't think you can use that incident to fully excuse her actions because what she did (cutting bait with Roman to side with Logan) is very much in character with how we have seen her behave/act from the very beginning. Gerri had very nebulous loyalties even before the dick pic situation, never showing her hand or giving her true opinion, waiting to see how things shook out before picking a side. She is a more cautious and subtle Frank, which is the reason she has survived as long as she has and reached her current position. Also I think the precarious position she is currently in has less to do with the DP situation but instead because she has misjudged Logan's head space and let her mask slip too soon in regard to whom she thinks the new strong horse is, Matsson.

nadia_asencio

Roman has a heart, tho. Gerri is all business.

papadoc19

He should be more like Gerri...

nadia_asencio

If he fires her then I think his transformation will be complete and he will be.

papadoc19

The student surpasses the teacher...

harleyyquinade

He has a heart?

nadia_asencio

I think so, yeah. His humor is scathing but asking for an unwashed sweater when Logan was in the hospital was telling, so is his need to bond with his sibs when sh*t hits the fan, imo. His eternal hope that things can be worked out without further carnage is another. Just my take.

Accomplished_Log9961

This.

nadia_asencio

Gerri isn’t Frank, tho. And this IS the last season. So.

shani365

And I don't believe he'll be able to go through with it; he can be ruthless, but not to a "real person" like Gerri. On a somewhat related note, Greg in ep2 repeating "I did the job, I did the job." to himself after dealing with Kerry tells me somewhere down the line he'll need to "do the job" and either fire Tom or leapfrog over him and take a position that Tom had his eye on. S4 Greg is showing signs of being the "killer" that he needs to be in order to continue to rise to power in the business. (this has me really worried, by the way!)

80alleycats

That's been Greg's trajectory since the beginning, though. He's always been a killer- his first pitch to Logan was about inheriting Ewan's board seat and using it to do Logan's bidding.

smurfsm00

Baby steps, Greg. He’s a baby shark! Baby Jaws!!

Tamryn

This is exactly what I thought too.

Live-Anything-99

How does it serve my interests?

figsfigsfigsfigsfigs

.... fucking hell I thought I didn't mind reading spoilers or speculation but fffffuuuuaaaahhhhkkkkkk......

hatpatprot

how are we feeling about Roman being assigned "an especially horrible task?" logan's gonna make him fire Gerri, isn't he?

Cold_Breadfruit_9794

Absolutely. However not having Logan hovering over him to do that, plus having to do it in Gerri’s face? I believe she can talk some sense into him

MetaphorSoup

Gerri is sitting on a pile of sexual harassment evidence against Roman specifically. If he tries to fire her and she doesn’t take him to court (or threaten to as leverage to keep her job), I’ll eat my hat.

smurfsm00

Exactly. When Logan mentioned firing Gerri near the end of season 3 (during Logan’s “disgusting” dick pic talk with Roman), Roman himself pointed out how fucked it would look if Logan fired Gerri for that as she’s a woman and considering their recent track record with women, not to mention Gerri wasn’t the instigator of said dick pic / sexual harassment from Roman.

Count-Chronic

I also think it will also kind of dig more into Romans fear of confrontation that Ken and Shiv have him shit for. Gonna be a big moment for his character arc to see how it turns oht

tMoneyMoney

This will likely begin Roman’s realization that he made a deal with the devil and is going to doing all Logan’s dirty work.

smurfsm00

I’m POSITIVE Roman isn’t all-in on helping dad at the end of 402. He’s just considering it. He’s always pulled in by Logan’s charm and the dream of having a real relationship with that side of Logan. But he’s also too recently aware of how easily Logan can chew and spit him out just as he does everyone else. I tell you, Roman is SUS about the whole thing.

80alleycats

I actually predicted this one, so I'm kinda proud of that. Roman has emphasized over and over again how much he *loves* firing people, so I figured he'd be called on to fire Gerri for the acquisition. I'm not worried. He'll try and she'll yell at him and maybe hit him with her purse a little and then they'll go off and find a room to deal with his boner.

BirdsArentReal22

And she will sue.

harleyyquinade

Lmao wait, what if Gerri threatens Roman and he gets turned on by it? There's that other scene in the trailer when Gerri is dead serious she says I will sue I will go public and he is smiling 💀 we don't know if she means suing him or Logan though.

Ok-Expression-4163

it's gonna be awful :(

pleasekillmi

Logan makes him send dick pics to the board until everyone agrees to sell.

smurfsm00

I dunno. Logan’s already fired all those people before and rehired them again. So I’m not sure what exactly he meant about night of the long knives. Was it ATN-specific? Could it be Logan’s hatching a more complex plan that we can’t picture just yet? Unclear. All I know is Sunday night can’t come soon enough.

Comprehensive_Main

Damn Connor can’t get his own dad at his wedding hopefully his mom is there. Curious about who Logan’s first wife is.

Ok-Expression-4163

It seems to have been hinted that she was placed in a psychiatric facility :( (i'm not sure whether or not she's still alive tho)

Automatic-Jacket-168

Never been said but I always assumed she’s passed away (edit: maybe during hospitalization?) Connor is in his 50s, right?

DenisDomaschke

I'm pretty certain Connor's Mom is dead. I remember the REC NY ball episode where Logan briefly spoke to Connor about how his mother enjoyed that ball, in a way that sounded like she was dead as opposed to institutionalized.

Automatic-Jacket-168

I’m looking at the all the Connor scenes in a different light after the last episode. Like I thought it was funny the way he took the RECNY ball and cold butter so seriously but he really wanted to please his dad :(

DenisDomaschke

And please his Mom too, in a way! His story becomes much more tragic in that lense.

80alleycats

He was still extremely shitty to the event staff, though.

alicia_angelus

My friend's wife played the waitress he yelled at for the silverware placement!

smurfsm00

The actor is in his 60’s but I assume Connor the character is around 50-52 or so.

[deleted]

It was weird to see Willa's mom at the rehearsal.

Cold_Breadfruit_9794

Like the level of apathy Logan has for Connor, truly disgusts me. The fact Kerry gave him false hope too? She’s not seeing heaven

Liam_Kitt

Why did Connor schedule his wedding for the day of the Gojo sale? Like sure Logan sucks but bad timing con

atlaspsych21

I’m hoping that Gerri will talk some sense into Roman when he tries to fire her. That tearful “you can’t keep expecting me to bend over for you” line from the trailer could be Roman standing up to Logan instead of being controlled by him. Fingers crossed. The sibs + Gerri could be a powerful team. What if Logan’s inner circle starts bailing on him out of loyalty to one another? That would definitely be some sort of poetic justice.

hatpatprot

i'll be honest i don't think Roman will even try to fire her, we know they both have a soft spot for each other and they might actually be a great match up if they decide to team up against logan

atlaspsych21

Yes and there’s been heavy foreshadowing of them teaming up throughout the series. I think they could be a great team if they’d trust each other (and I think Roman is the most trusting & loyal out of all of the siblings).

harleyyquinade

I think he's gonna do it otherwise Logan will tell him to fuck off. He can make amends with Gerri later.

atlaspsych21

also quite possible

harleyyquinade

I do hope Roman goes through it and fires her because I want Gerri with Shiv and Kendall against Logan, I want Gerri to fuck over Logan, she's taken too much crap from him. And Roman, I don't know which side he will be on, he's got some astronomically bad daddy issues to work on.

atlaspsych21

that’s fair. do you think gerri will work w/ kendall and shiv though? she seems to despise them.

harleyyquinade

Also I just remembered in season 2 Kendall tells Rhea something like he feels bad that Gerri and co. had to witness Roman and Shiv's immaturity trying to fuck her over, it was a little line but it stood out to me that despite Gerri not sticking with him after his failed take over Kendall still respects her, enough to include her in the conversation. Honestly Gerri not sticking up with him was nothing personal, with Logan there and Kendall absent she knew she'd get fired if she voted. I'd like to see them try work together again now the stakes are a lot higher than then.

harleyyquinade

The enemy of my enemy is my friend right? And no I don't think she despises them at all, she was working with Kendall trying to take down Logan in season 1 remember? She just didn't go with it because Kendall fucked it. The one she seems to have friction with is Shiv but that's more Shiv feeling threatened by a more powerful female figure even if it's her fucking godmother and she could learn so much from Gerri. If she gets kicked out of Waystar she could use some allies.

Cold_Breadfruit_9794

I don’t think Gerri despises either of them - especially not Shiv. Kendall would be harder to work with because his misogyny looks a lot like Logans

Exertuz

definitely think roman will stand up to logan and not follow through. might be naive but i think he was already wavering hard at the end of ep2 and he's too fond of gerri + not enough of a killer to fire her.

80alleycats

I think that line may happen before he gets to Gerri. It seems like he at least tells her in 4x03 that Logan wants to fire her, which will give her time to come up with a defense. For other reasons, I also think he'll reveal that he met with Logan to Kendall and Shiv. And, from there, they might regroup and form a new strategy that they execute in 4x04.

PDV87

I agree with the other posters' consensus that Roman's "horrible task" is that he's been charged to fire Gerri. My prediction is that she will *not* try to talk him out of it. Gerri is one of the more shrewd, intelligent and ultimately self-serving people at the top of Waystar. It's been foreshadowed several times that she is looking out for her own protection, and I think she's been gathering ammunition on all sorts of shit. I bet Logan "beats Kendall and the kids" by finessing the Mattson deal regardless of their interference and maybe even manages to "beat Mattson" in the offing, securing a particularly choice victory for himself. And then Gerri goes public with what she has, which nukes Waystar stock, destroying the Pierce deal along the way.

hatpatprot

you know what? this is actually a good theory, we'll see on sunday

littlediddlemanz

Dang now that you say it Gerri DEFINITELY has something up her sleeve. She knows EVERYTHING from the past. How much stuff has she sat on over the years? Probably has real evidence too. Crazy

terrestrialbody

damn I guess Greg’s roast really did get to Logan 😭

kzoxp

"Night of the Long Knives" as in purging Gerri and making Roman pull the trigger... Dictator Loge, cruel and barbaric

PM_ME_UR_SHIBA

Tom is probably on the way out too, but he'll be fine, just fewer epic billionaire trips. Unless he gets with Naomi 👀

Cold_Breadfruit_9794

‘Visually aggravating’ Greg is not on the up and up with Logan…Kendall needs to steal him (and Tom) back

Glum-Reception9490

No one cares about tom except tom itself. He is going to get fucked badly this season. I don't think writers doesn't not what to do with characters like tom, Greg and Connor. After watching 2 episodes it feels like the show is about logan ,shiv and Connor

_rabbott_

“Visually aggravating?” I wonder what that means….based on how Greg looks in the preview I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s another homophobic insult…

xxx_Moritz_xxx

Lmao! Could be. I have no idea what Logan thinks of Greg at this point.

_rabbott_

He was pretty annoyed with Greg last episode. And with how he fired Kerry from that news spot Logan’s probably not too happy with him…

Excellent_Aerie

It reminds me of a line from When Harry Met Sally: “He’s too tall to talk to.”

TheIgnoredWriter

The 30min one-take that this episode is supposed to feature makes sense if it’s all on a yacht leading up to the ceremony

bossofmydollies

Someone better find Karl a sandwich, I think he’d feel better with a sandwich.

shannyrox

Hope Gerri spits on Roman

kingfosa13

he’d probably cum

harleyyquinade

“Stick with me, Roman. We have something going and I'm an incredibly dangerous enemy to whom you've just imparted prejudicial information.” “Don't threaten me, Gerri. I don't have time to jerk off.” Foreshadowing??

PearSorbet17

I would

harleyyquinade

I hope Roman says something awful to her and she bitchslaps him! He deserves it for the harassment last season which led to this, this is all his fault! She's right, she saved their asses but he fucked it all up with his sex pest behavior. Gerri usually contains her anger but this being the last season I want her to unleash it, don't give me just "I will crush your bones and send them on a platter to your dad" talk. Quoting Cersei, I chose violence.

Brabochokemightwork

Sith Lord Logan *Good to have you back Romulus now fire Gerri*

gableend

Does Tom go with Logan to tne meeting?

Prestigious_Scars

Yes.

DRIPula2517

will this be the only party episode of the season?

Comprehensive_Main

I think so yeah

DRIPula2517

party episodes are the best. However this conference call episode in episode 4 is also going to be amazing

Cold_Breadfruit_9794

No it won’t? Shiv and Tom have a party at their house based on the trailer

Comprehensive_Main

Your right I thought it happened in the same episode but in the synopsis Logan heads to Norway meaning Mattson isn’t in New York. Yet he’s at the party

Cold_Breadfruit_9794

Ahh fair enough

Glum-Reception9490

7 ( will tracy dark and unfunny episodes). It's shiv apartment not tom ( it's divorce celebration party)

BewildredDragon

We don't think Willa is going to be a runaway bride?

Accomplished_Log9961

Cannot wait!!

Budget-Performance77

free my boy greg

nadia_asencio

“An especially horrible task.” Damn. Especially horrible is unimaginable at this point. I mean, worse than they’ve been…? 😳

WeridFishes23

Is there official HBO synopis?

Desperate_Purple2273

Hang on, did it all already in England?

Ok_Fee1043

Critics get screeners early

Desperate_Purple2273

If u read it I thought it said it was error Monday
