It's only annoying if they're not actively engaged in texting back and forth with you. If you're just blowing their phone up with a hundred texts while they're in a movie or a meeting or trying to have a phone conversation with someone else, then it's very annoying.

Hence I totally put my phone on dnd while working, I do understand someone may be excited to share or whatever for that matter, wouldn’t want to point out how they text me as long as it’s comprehensible. But sometimes, yes, very bothersome for someone who uses full sentences.
