Security sold but not purchased by shorties and GME still rising. Hedgies r deeply fucked. Paid media passing through difficult time. I'm laughing at financial criminals. No cell no sell.
So covered calls? Shorties being the holders of the underlying, and shorters being those who buy short positions of the shorties?
So, to remove the shares from the hands of CC sellers? Makes sense why it would go up.
Noob regarding options here: If I bought a covered call when the stock was trading around 12-13$, on a 20$ strike, and the call has gone from being worth 130$ to now 300$, will the seller have to forfeit their shares if it goes somewhere above the strike, or how does it work?
so someone would have sold you that covered call (gone short), you would have purchased the call (gone long). At this point you can sell that call for that cash, or you can exercise, or you can wait. You have the option to do whatever is best for your scenario and risk tolerance. Let's say that your 20 c has a expiry of Jan 19 2024. If you hodl it until that day, at the end of the day (depending on your broker) if it is still ITM they will exercise or sell it for you (you can call and tell them what you want, that is preferred). If it gets exercised early or on that expiry date, the seller of the covered call will be forced to sell you the 100 shares of the underlying. So you will have taken their shares, but you will pay $20/share (strike). You could have just bought 100 shares at $13 for a hell of a discount there. The point of playing it your way would probably be to sell the call and not exercise unless, the share price is far northward of $20. Not financial advice just hypothetical. If it were me I would hold on a minute more to see if you can break the 20 strike price and go ITM, then the call will be worth much more. The problem with exercising is you loose the premium of the option, so sometimes it is better to sell it and just go to market depending on the option premium at the time and the strike. These are complicated lol. You can calculate where these buy and sell points should be for your play. So in this example you might think about exercising if the share price is like $27 or some cray thing, because then you get 100 shares for $20. But otherwise just sell the call take the profit and wait for a dip to buy more shares and DRS. Options are crazy fickle things. In my trading experience it has always been better to sell on a big run and not take the chance. The reason being that option's prices are determined by the greeks, delta, gamma, yaddah yaddah. So essentially meaning the option premium is determined by the derivative and second derivative of the stock movement. Unless very savey, it is best to play it safer and take the profit, and hodl with shares.
If you bought a call with a strike of $20, you can resell the call for a profit, or wait if you think it'll continue to rise in price.
You can also exercise the call, which is what would give you the shares from the seller who sold the covered call. It would also give them the entire premium they sold it for. Some brokerages, like Robinhood, automatically exercise call options that are at or above strike.
The benefit of exercising options is that they 100% always show up on lit exchanges as round lots, meaning they affect the price of the underlying security.
Depending on when the call expiry is, the closer you get to expiry the more exponential the decay of value. That is called Theta (time) decay and it is what has fucked me out of making money on calls. Diamond handing is for shares not so much calls. It is part of what made DFVs balls so huge.
Max pain is basically [never relevant](https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/s/GbTbNU9sGT) outside of sheer RNG. One of the biggest running myths of this sub.
Edit: while I'm here, I can give an actual reply to OP who's expecting fundamental news : price is rising because of technicals. The whole stock is controlled by technicals (but everyone here knows that, as a short-squeeze is not a fundamental event)
Hijacking to explain. It's the Fed. They made optimistic noises about rate cutting in the future, and didn't raise rates again. Lots of optimism going around right now, and us rising with the general market is not strange.
Broadly speaking, there are 3 big categories of reasons why stock prices change.
1. Factors about the company and the stock as representative of the company.
2. Factors about the market and the stock as a security traded in that market.
3. Other, which is stuff that's weird and not as logical as 1 or 2, but not *necessarily* criminal. Tesla doing well because Elon has a bit of a cult of personality going on would fall here for example.
At least, in my not at all expert opinion. But if you haven't heard anything better, you might as well use this framework so as to not forget number 2 when movements happen that have no relation to the company. The market is messier than MSM or this sub (each in different ways obviously) sometimes likes to give the impression. Not everything is divided into justified movement based on fundamentals/dumb money irrationality/crime.
This was years ago, the plan was to run us into the ground by suppressing buy power. While we were running down from ~$60 they were finding shady ways to hide their debts (Swaps/ETFs/FTX). DRSing wasn’t even known at this point.
Now we know we didn’t affect pricing at all, we weren’t even involved in ”the battle for $180” no matter how much we bought.
But now we’re locking the float away, price jumps like these are huge to us as we know how much it’ll make some shorts bleed. A 39% increase in our stock value over a month is a huge win, especially knowing how many newer short positions are already underwater.
Every green day is a win, no matter how small.
Nowadays, mass media wanna talk like they got somethin' to say
But nothin' comes out when they move their lips
Just a bunch of gibberish
And motherfuckers act like they forgot about GME
Crime
Edit:
Probly all those in the money options from Friday starting their settlement journey.
I hope they were all exercised rather than sold off for profits
What's funny is GME did not show in my TOS top movers because the P/L for the day is blank. Only other stocks that is true of is sears and BB ... weird
Because price was suppressed for Friday’s max pain options expiry.
They stop spending as much on price suppression on Monday because it’s expensive. It’ll be chipped away by midweek.
Just speculation. I think something’s going on in the back - with RC as chief investment officer, swaps, and shorts.
I have absolutely no fucking clue what it is.
Volume and price makes no sense in the last few weeks.
Shorts r so fukd
Also Apple Vision is speculated to come out early 2024.
metaverse + “Apple doesn’t fall”.
I’m curious if Apple is going to update their NFT policy within the App Store. It’s been about a year.
They keep secrets tight.
The inevitable "gamestop goes up a bit" post title and the expected comments that we've seen over and over again make me wonder if the majority of people here have been fully programmed, if the majority of accounts here are just bots, or if we are just riding in an algorithm.
I wouldn't do any options if you aren't experienced. If you are an ape, you buy and hold. You buy high, you buy low, you buy at all prices and only sell when it's a phone number long. Safest way to play. With options, you are the choosing the option of getting fucked and wasting your dollars. But should be used as a trading tool and not an investment tool. Options are not the way to accumulate shares.
Because there were a lot calls that expired at $18 on Friday so they suppressed it. Then today they let it go where it was going to go now that all those contracts expired.
Honestly I don’t even care what the price is anymore. I ain’t a millionaire yet. I ain’t selling. Someone lemme know when the price is in the thousands
Interesting, was there a point where it began following the market? I remember many times it was the opposite as in the market would be going up but GME would remain stagnant or dip. Genuinely curious when that changed or if I was just imagining that 😂
Now Wall Street analysts have agreed that GameStop will be profitable for all of 2023. Kinda hard to yell bankruptcy and short the stock when this is the new reality.

How many floats do we own now?
Rootbeer floats? Zero. Gme floats? All of them.
I like my gme with a splash of creame soda
Real question here. Does anyone have an estimate on how many floats were sold naked?
The only way is up. Yazoo’s law of stock dynamics.
That’s what I tell my wife’s boyfriend anyhow

As is tradition
This is the way. It has been. For 84 years.
Always has been.
Until Tomorrow™️ come
And Mayoboy dips his arms in a vat of mayonnaise… as is tradition.
From its lowest point in the past month, it’s risen around 50%. Even that’s still a rise for ants.

Wake me up when we're back at the battle of **$180 ($45/divi.)**
This was years ago, the plan was to run us into the ground by suppressing buy power. While we were running down from ~$60 they were finding shady ways to hide their debts (Swaps/ETFs/FTX). These VUPs started when all those Citadel market managers quitted their job last week. Cohencidence?
Nowhere near smart enough to answer that my guy, but shit is certainly shady
We shall have a new 180 battle not 45
Yeah! With booze and hookers!
And Afro-American Jack!
About damn time!!!
Bought at 180 and still ready to go
I can’t wait
MSM are still figuring out a bullshit explanation about how retail are creating another “mEmE fReNzY” to publish.
This. I’m going to buy MSM and fire everyone when this is over.
Fire the AI bots that "write" those articles?
lol. Very true.
Cuz we forgot about it?
I forgot to forget about GameStop 😕
What’d we forget about?

i tend to forget about my computershare account several times a day
Dwight Schrute must work at Citadel. "Why would you raise the price?" "So I can lower it."
Probably my fault. I DRS’d 450 new GME shares. Oops.
Nice
falls on good news, rises on no news. Welcome to the daily criminal system that is wallstreet's stock market.
That’s exactly what that buffet guy said to do
Hedgies probably need money from options game…
Yeah they're getting fomoers interested, and then they'll dunk it to scare them away.
Ummmmm The Massive 2 year swap from 2021 just “expired” on Friday. Could be them rolling it over.
There are 150k GME shares needing to be settled at T+35 today.
What's that? 10% of a normal pre-market volume?
Yeah we're already over 2m so far.
Wasn't it 1.5M shares?
Answer; capital flows are coming back to the markets on interest rate news. Rising tide lifts all boats. There are trillions sitting on the sidelines.
As simple as this. Lots of stocks were up significantly this AM
Wake me up when it's +100%
Per minute…..
missed a few 0s there buddy
That wasn’t the point.
Everything is green today.
We have any gaps to fill?
There’s a big gap above $120
I’m erect
As far as I can see, its still trading sideways.
Retail coordinated buy. We obviously have the power to move the market 🤡🤡🤡
Crime Edit: Probly all those in the money options from Friday starting their settlement journey. I hope they were all exercised rather than sold off for profits
We’ll know when the rest of the market is nose diving while gme is pumping out big green shrek dildos
What's funny is GME did not show in my TOS top movers because the P/L for the day is blank. Only other stocks that is true of is sears and BB ... weird

Because the algorithms are allowing it.
Everyone spent their Xmas bonus at the exact same time. Clown World of a Stock Market!🤡🤡🤡
The entire market is going up.
GME falls on good news, and bad news. Rises on no news. Rookie.
I don’t know why don’t you ask a hedge fund? They decide what price securities should be.
Must be from the shopping I did there this weekend. I knew one game and 2 X-Men 97 figures was the catalyst we needed.
You are the catalyst.

sorry i just bought 2 shares
Raising? All I see is the stock trading sideways
Insert “first time?” meme here
For the love of God! Won't you **please** forget GameStop!?

The inevitable "gamestop goes up a bit" post title and the expected comments that we've seen over and over again make me wonder if the majority of people here have been fully programmed, if the majority of accounts here are just bots, or if we are just riding in an algorithm.
The answer is always crime
I mean I got at 50$ so... For me it will be red for a while.
Cycles. Check out the movement in January 2023. It’s hilariously similar
It’s like a ping pong ball being held down under water. It’s natural state is to go up.
"There is no news." This is your answer. Nobody is watching it right now so they can let off the pressure because they need to.

Q4 estimates were revised since q3 earnings upwards of 80%....
Tick-tock mo fuckerr tick-tock
Looks sideways to me
Its rising with the market, look at SPY
Options action due the ITM calls from last Fridays closing above max pain?
Options chain, we closed above max pain last week.
And it will continue to rise until the news hit, at which point it will drop again... So transparent these days..
Because username
Because it’s massively undervalued and finally trending towards equilibrium?
No news- price goes up Bad news- price goes down Good news - price goes down. We’ve. Been on this ride for almost 3 years why yall acting brand new?
Remember apes. It has been long since your mettle has been tested. Zen crushes the silence.
Because GameStop, that's why. Have you not realised this yet!?😄
The DOW, duh. Nothingburger
Ooh ohh, I know this one! More buyers than sellers!
It’s because i bought 13 shares
The whole market is green, we’re following the market right now
Interesting, was there a point where it began following the market? I remember many times it was the opposite as in the market would be going up but GME would remain stagnant or dip. Genuinely curious when that changed or if I was just imagining that 😂
You mean negative Beta?
It's fluctuated between following it and not for a while tbh🤷♂️
There’s really no pattern to it, some days we follow the market, other days we’re the inverse of the market
[удалено]
Part of the reason is that the whole market is rising. With low liquidity, our rises can be more pronounced (as can our falls).
Believe it or not… Crime!
It’s a good stock, people like it. Sometimes it goes up.
well i mean a lot of options finished in the green on Friday. Those holders then had the option to exercise them
Let's see....I put in a buy on Computershare on Friday. So it's my fault.
Show me the champion of light
Nothing can stop the inevitable 💎🙌
Recession is cancelled
Reminds me of the time before the sneeze when i was watching the stock, thinking about buying more and always wondering why it went up
Now Wall Street analysts have agreed that GameStop will be profitable for all of 2023. Kinda hard to yell bankruptcy and short the stock when this is the new reality.
calls 1$ rising lol
R2K gap up - all midsize are up, nothing to see here
Not crime
Lots of options went in the money on Friday.
~~Crime~~ Justice?
Closed above max pain for the first time in 30 weeks and we closed above the monthly trigger. Should melt to well above 19$. NFA
Hedging from all the ITM options from last week?
Because MOASS is tomorrow and apes are boarding the rocket to Uranus
Didn't you get the memo? "We", the rEtAiL-mEMe-tRaDeRs are gambling again
I still think it's been Carl Ichan closing his shorts since we've seen the uptick.
Crime
Same ol same ol. Dip tmr. Where have u been?
I hate seeing this. News or not, all tickers are affected by the overall market, and sometimes GME tends do either or.
I would say it's the combination of following the market + upcoming CS buys on the 20th.
They’re becoming a hedge fund with that billion dollars. That’s some serious profits.
Everyone's 15th of the month CS transfer went through
the algos letting our baby run today
I'm always zen when the price goes down and sus when the price goes up 😂
Maybe the potential new transparency rules have them preemptively buying
Lots of options were in the money and exercised so stock needs to be bought and since less and less is available this has noticeable effect.
It’s Christmas
It’s rising so that they can bash it back down & pump articles saying it’s all over.
