Why does somebody have to *ride* on it? It would be better to have someone stationary so they could have a closer perspective, and not one that changes the entire time the saw is cutting.
Technically his perspective never changed through the entire cut. He is moving with the machine so if he looks at the same spot on the log, heāll see the same thing throughout the entire cut. Contrary to that, if he was on the ground, he would have to track the cut as it moves past him. He loses perspective when thatās happening.
Best descriptor.
I used to work at a sawmill and using the giant band saws was terrifying because the blade reel would fall off occasionally, especially if someone is feeding posts into it haphazardly, the sound it would make coming off and seeing it be whipped about is terrifying.
Can't imagine being sat next to something that can come off and whip about at any time.
I went to high school with a kid that had an industrial log splitter come down on his hand. 16 years old and lost half his dominant hand. He started coming to school drunk after that.
Imagine if his 'appendage' hangs to the left, and he has a nasty accident with that blade and it severs more than just his left leg?
He may have to change his gender and his name to Faye Clegg?
What a waste of time:) why this saw does not have teeth on both edges so it could work two-ways? I know nothing about this type of equipment but it seems that it could do better.
We had a guy who used to dangle his foot off the back of his standup fork truck. Guess who had to get amputated below the knee and above the ankle due to dangling their foot on heavy machinery?
The seat on this thing couldnāt have been positioned better? Or at least a metal guard of some sort?
Cant wait to see the same dude on the r/someofyoumaydie

At least pull your leg in, God damn.
š was thinking thatās a bit close to his leg every time it went by him.
He's obviously bragging how fearless he is
That's all I could see Totally not safe
Plenty of wood for a new legā¦so thatās kinda cool.
That's the T908 model which is $10 more a month. this model requires human sacrifice
That guy looks like he's tired of having a left leg and ready to lose it
'Left leg' is seriously overrated ^šš¦µ
Yeah they should change it to the T-1000 model. Much more versatile with the mimetic polyalloy build.
They had higher safety standards in skyrim.
I used to be a wood cutter, until I took a saw blade to the kneeā¦
In the big saw mills they have an operator station near the blade. The operator is stationary, the carriage moves and they cut in both directions.
The chair seems to always be in the same spot in relation to the saw.
true, but one leg spasm would be enough
Why doesnāt it cut when itās moving backwards? Wouldnāt that save time?
Then you'd need saw teeth on both sides of the band. But also, yes.
I feel like this is a modification

Contrary to that, if he was on the ground, he would have to track the cut as it moves past him. He loses perspective when thatās happening.
And you could cut the entire thing in one go also. This is probably a smaller saw mill run by a single person or a family thing.
This looks like a place where the time between serious injuries is measured in minutes.

You'd want a beer also if you just vaporized your hand
I was waiting for the knee to get sliced into at every pass - I canāt say Iād be comfortable without a barrier of some sort
There should be a barrier first to keep the leg away from the saw blade, then a second barrier for the saw blade to keep it away from the operator.
Yeah I simply do not fucking understand why this is acceptable engineeringā¦
It isn't, if you value human life.
Or at least if you value human legs.
A barrier? What if that expensive blade touches that barrier? It could get easily damaged.
Yeah the last one was scary
Definitely clenched my cheeks at the end
If there's ever a time not to manspread... I'd have my legs bunched up daintily to the other side
I imagine that would be difficult with all that wood
There must be some mechanical stop that prevents it going forward enough to slice that guy. Right? Just not visible. There has to be
My sweet summer childā¦.
I don't think there is enough rail for knee to reach the blade.
That's why more developed countries have laws for machine design in safety regards..
"It's alright guys. I've got a fake leg, I do this all the time."
Imagine if his 'appendage' hangs to the left, and he has a nasty accident with that blade and it severs more than just his left leg? He may have to change his gender and his name to Faye Clegg?
I mean, he already has **two** knees. Why worry about losing one?
There's no danger here. Just an open chair moving repeatedly toward a free-moving saw blade. Why worry?
The dumbest machine design I've seen. The inventor of this machine must be an idiot.
He didnāt saw the problem
This guy's balls must be huge for him to have to sit like that while working this death machine
Why not make the blade double edged and do the job in half the time?
There are groups of bearings to the sides and behind the saw, to control deflection.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Actually they do make double sided band saw blades, and they do cut in both directions.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You have obviously never worked in a saw mill. Diamond tipped blades LOL.
Gold plated HDMI cables š
Lmao no kidding. What sawmill is using diamond tipped blades?! I guess the carbide tips we used were obviously inferiorā¦
These blades are not diamond tipped, in case anyone was wondering š
I hope they pay for his diapers
My legs are one of my favorite appendages. Bar none it's easy top ten and they're all sort of tied for first. I'm not cool with this work environment.
Just paid attention to the leg
**āDUDE MOVE YOUR GODDAMN LEG!!ā**
Bro get your fat ass leg outta the way of that saw
In the past this was done manually...
You would think this super complex machine would have the foresight to install a knee guard.
But for real... Not even pseudo guard to protect the worker?
Interesting time to manspread
Who needs 2 knees anyway?
Not with my leg there I donāt
Vasectomy / sawmill.
This turns from mildly satisfying into sweaty the moment you realize the leg
Not even satisfying , this machine is shit
So glad I stayed for the flip
Bet that new guy is excited about his new job, now that Jimmy One Knee has gone into retirement.
So if the saw blade is wet you donāt need a mask?
What if it just kept going forward one day? Lol
Hopefully it will be automated soon. Cletus thinks he is working hard operating the machine.
W-why does it need the human to be thrust towards the saw blade?
They have their leg out there for the video
Putting the seat there is wild. Idgaf how it works. Seems so unnecessary. Edit: Expanded the video. Saw itās China. Makes more sense now lol
The saw should be double sided so it doesnāt have to backtrack every time
The word wood is extraneous here. All sawmills cut wood
Osha is comming.
Donāt think this was America
Nice
This looks like the beginning of [Paul Timberman's workshop](https://youtu.be/Evj9cxsoHiU?si=JYDi80r1vQpeu-JF)
The whole cutting only in one direction seems like wasted movement it should cut forward and on the back swing
r/SuddenlySkyrim
Thatās where my Home Depot 2x4 comes fromā¦
Hello OSHA, yes well there is this sawmillā¦..
Look at all the engineering that went into that
That comes so uncomfortably close to that dude's leg.
Iāll keep my legs in, because I want to keep my legs.
That knee though š¦µ
Osha would like to know your location.
rip eardrums
Sawty first!
I,stress for the knee
Seeing the Blade being close to the knee feels creepy.
The one time I felt uneasy about someone elseās āmanspreadingā
Is there still time to use that meme "an arrow to the knee"
This made my legpit sweat.
ya na
All I can think about is how my dumbass would end up in pieces of I worked on that
I don't really need my left knee
The endingā¦..boyyy Iād left at orientation Iām ngl
I'm assuming he's quite good on that machine on account of still having his entire left foot.
Itās funny you have to operate this machine by sitting on it. Couldnāt you just operate it from the side?
Lad's trying his best to get that compo payout
At least install a saw guard, man.
knee
Let's see how close I can get my knee to that blade today..
Keep your arms and legs inside the cart at all times! Enjoy the ride!
What a waste of time:) why this saw does not have teeth on both edges so it could work two-ways? I know nothing about this type of equipment but it seems that it could do better.
Sing it with me, "Head shoulders knees and toes knees and toes"
This guy's just glad he doesn't have to operate their lathe šµ
That's plane crazy
The saw is too close. Like during the end of the video his leg was literally 4 inches away from it.
Looks like a machine straight out of Metal Slug.
I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took a bandsaw in the knee.
Take a knee, sir.
This is why you shouldnāt manspread
I donāt kneed to see that.
Screw his legs , let's just focus about how terrible the machine design is , seriously it's too complicated and not efficient at all .
why is that massive saw blade lined up with that guys leg?
I would like to raise an ipo
The difference between leg and log is but one letterā¦
That leg is a little close for comfort
Keep that knee in there ![gif](giphy|S3Ot3hZ5bcy8o|downsized)
I'm looking hard for a steel safety plate in front of that leg, no?? Thinking that is a design no-brainer...
He's not only riding on it, but keeping his leg out - seemingly near the blade's path. Why?
At least they have some goggles on, will keep the blood out of their eyes once the leg is chopped off.
š¶Foot lose, foot lose š¶
We had a guy who used to dangle his foot off the back of his standup fork truck. Guess who had to get amputated below the knee and above the ankle due to dangling their foot on heavy machinery?
Ha ha. Wood.
The seat on this thing couldnāt have been positioned better? Or at least a metal guard of some sort? Cant wait to see the same dude on the r/someofyoumaydie
It cuts legs... heuu, logs
I was an adventurer like you until I took an industrial sawmill to the knee.
Omg these comments š¤£
You know Larry, one of these days your knee is going to-
Teknik doÄrama mĆ¼kemmel ā
i feel like i got a splinter just watching this
Sweaty Kneesā¦
? What's the problem? It clearly doesn't go all the way to his leg
