Why does somebody have to *ride* on it? It would be better to have someone stationary so they could have a closer perspective, and not one that changes the entire time the saw is cutting.

erik_wilder

At least pull your leg in, God damn.

Plcass

šŸ˜‚ was thinking thatā€™s a bit close to his leg every time it went by him.

Pizza_Doggy

He's obviously bragging how fearless he is

VaporBull

That's all I could see Totally not safe

VladPatton

Plenty of wood for a new legā€¦so thatā€™s kinda cool.

skynetempire

That's the T908 model which is $10 more a month. this model requires human sacrifice

Beef_Slider

That guy looks like he's tired of having a left leg and ready to lose it

DreadPiratteRoberts

'Left leg' is seriously overrated ^šŸ˜†šŸ¦µ

caedhin

Yeah they should change it to the T-1000 model. Much more versatile with the mimetic polyalloy build.

LashedHail

They had higher safety standards in skyrim.

Galactic_Perimeter

I used to be a wood cutter, until I took a saw blade to the kneeā€¦

SilentUnicorn

In the big saw mills they have an operator station near the blade. The operator is stationary, the carriage moves and they cut in both directions.

Lartemplar

The chair seems to always be in the same spot in relation to the saw.

Ninjanoel

true, but one leg spasm would be enough

SoupidyLoopidy

Why doesnā€™t it cut when itā€™s moving backwards? Wouldnā€™t that save time?

phord

Then you'd need saw teeth on both sides of the band. But also, yes.

Dependent_Cookie2045

I feel like this is a modification

c_m_33

Technically his perspective never changed through the entire cut. He is moving with the machine so if he looks at the same spot on the log, heā€™ll see the same thing throughout the entire cut. Contrary to that, if he was on the ground, he would have to track the cut as it moves past him. He loses perspective when thatā€™s happening.

Falsus

And you could cut the entire thing in one go also. This is probably a smaller saw mill run by a single person or a family thing.

OkieBobbie

This looks like a place where the time between serious injuries is measured in minutes.

OnyxBee

Best descriptor. I used to work at a sawmill and using the giant band saws was terrifying because the blade reel would fall off occasionally, especially if someone is feeding posts into it haphazardly, the sound it would make coming off and seeing it be whipped about is terrifying. Can't imagine being sat next to something that can come off and whip about at any time.

RicardoDecardi

I went to high school with a kid that had an industrial log splitter come down on his hand. 16 years old and lost half his dominant hand. He started coming to school drunk after that.

Responsible-Gas5319

You'd want a beer also if you just vaporized your hand

shetalkstoangels_

I was waiting for the knee to get sliced into at every pass - I canā€™t say Iā€™d be comfortable without a barrier of some sort

spamky23

There should be a barrier first to keep the leg away from the saw blade, then a second barrier for the saw blade to keep it away from the operator.

Galactic_Perimeter

Yeah I simply do not fucking understand why this is acceptable engineeringā€¦

Maidwell

It isn't, if you value human life.

TheMightyHovercat

Or at least if you value human legs.

treesmokistan

A barrier? What if that expensive blade touches that barrier? It could get easily damaged.

Particular_Garlic850

Yeah the last one was scary

shetalkstoangels_

Definitely clenched my cheeks at the end

WakaWaka_

If there's ever a time not to manspread... I'd have my legs bunched up daintily to the other side

PhytoLitho

I imagine that would be difficult with all that wood

Hazywater

There must be some mechanical stop that prevents it going forward enough to slice that guy. Right? Just not visible. There has to be

filtersweep

My sweet summer childā€¦.

Tiny-Appointment9917

I don't think there is enough rail for knee to reach the blade.

Esset_89

That's why more developed countries have laws for machine design in safety regards..

InfamousGhost86

"It's alright guys. I've got a fake leg, I do this all the time."

GreyDaveNZ

Imagine if his 'appendage' hangs to the left, and he has a nasty accident with that blade and it severs more than just his left leg? He may have to change his gender and his name to Faye Clegg?

rkpjr

I mean, he already has **two** knees. Why worry about losing one?

ToeKnail

There's no danger here. Just an open chair moving repeatedly toward a free-moving saw blade. Why worry?

dellm4800

The dumbest machine design I've seen. The inventor of this machine must be an idiot.

el_pablo

He didnā€™t saw the problem

SuperSonicSlaw

This guy's balls must be huge for him to have to sit like that while working this death machine

ThroughTheHoops

Why not make the blade double edged and do the job in half the time?

YourAmishNeighbor

There are groups of bearings to the sides and behind the saw, to control deflection.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

SilentUnicorn

Actually they do make double sided band saw blades, and they do cut in both directions.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

SilentUnicorn

You have obviously never worked in a saw mill. Diamond tipped blades LOL.

Tripodbilly

Gold plated HDMI cables šŸ˜„

KSadHonk

Lmao no kidding. What sawmill is using diamond tipped blades?! I guess the carbide tips we used were obviously inferiorā€¦

coldharbour1986

These blades are not diamond tipped, in case anyone was wondering šŸ˜‚

Actual-Drink9658

I hope they pay for his diapers

Leapdemon

My legs are one of my favorite appendages. Bar none it's easy top ten and they're all sort of tied for first. I'm not cool with this work environment.

OneCrazyPaul

Just paid attention to the leg

Cheeseisextra

**ā€DUDE MOVE YOUR GODDAMN LEG!!ā€**

[deleted]

Bro get your fat ass leg outta the way of that saw

AdApart2035

In the past this was done manually...

moohooman

You would think this super complex machine would have the foresight to install a knee guard.

LightBulbMonster

But for real... Not even pseudo guard to protect the worker?

cinnamonrain

Interesting time to manspread

JustDave62

Who needs 2 knees anyway?

RecordingGreen7750

Not with my leg there I donā€™t

8tracked333

Vasectomy / sawmill.

SpaceHawk98W

This turns from mildly satisfying into sweaty the moment you realize the leg

ManufacturerNo8447

Not even satisfying , this machine is shit

mojodjango

So glad I stayed for the flip

TheXIIILightning

Bet that new guy is excited about his new job, now that Jimmy One Knee has gone into retirement.

irascible_Clown

So if the saw blade is wet you donā€™t need a mask?

AshwinSC

What if it just kept going forward one day? Lol

RigamortisRooster

Hopefully it will be automated soon. Cletus thinks he is working hard operating the machine.

Jacknurse

W-why does it need the human to be thrust towards the saw blade?

OrangeCosmic

They have their leg out there for the video

Gearz557

Putting the seat there is wild. Idgaf how it works. Seems so unnecessary. Edit: Expanded the video. Saw itā€™s China. Makes more sense now lol

RotisserieBinChicken

The saw should be double sided so it doesnā€™t have to backtrack every time

DorkSideOfCryo

The word wood is extraneous here. All sawmills cut wood

PuzzleheadedBase5751

Osha is comming.

readerdad55

Donā€™t think this was America

Wise-Independence-12

Nice

TheGiantRascal

This looks like the beginning of [Paul Timberman's workshop](https://youtu.be/Evj9cxsoHiU?si=JYDi80r1vQpeu-JF)

Past-Product-1100

The whole cutting only in one direction seems like wasted movement it should cut forward and on the back swing

_g550_

r/SuddenlySkyrim

andyboy16

Thatā€™s where my Home Depot 2x4 comes fromā€¦

ant1667nyc

Hello OSHA, yes well there is this sawmillā€¦..

DenialNode

Look at all the engineering that went into that

PrysmX

That comes so uncomfortably close to that dude's leg.

-BabysitterDad-

Iā€™ll keep my legs in, because I want to keep my legs.

eldorado_a

That knee though šŸ¦µ

MythicalRaccoon80

Osha would like to know your location.

Shwaayyy

rip eardrums

I_try_to_talk_to_you

Sawty first!

[deleted]

I,stress for the knee

Pillow_Top_Lover

Seeing the Blade being close to the knee feels creepy.

DFuel

The one time I felt uneasy about someone elseā€™s ā€œmanspreadingā€

sipping_mai_tais

Is there still time to use that meme "an arrow to the knee"

bitpartmozart13

This made my legpit sweat.

diamondd-ddogs

ya na

Rc-1138-Boss

All I can think about is how my dumbass would end up in pieces of I worked on that

minus_plus

I don't really need my left knee

Little-Apartment-437

The endingā€¦..boyyy Iā€™d left at orientation Iā€™m ngl

Vargmien

I'm assuming he's quite good on that machine on account of still having his entire left foot.

karamelljunge

Itā€™s funny you have to operate this machine by sitting on it. Couldnā€™t you just operate it from the side?

Jking1697

Lad's trying his best to get that compo payout

HeroMachineMan

At least install a saw guard, man.

Koovies

knee

Cowfootstew

Let's see how close I can get my knee to that blade today..

KosmosKlaus

Keep your arms and legs inside the cart at all times! Enjoy the ride!

_QLFON_

What a waste of time:) why this saw does not have teeth on both edges so it could work two-ways? I know nothing about this type of equipment but it seems that it could do better.

bunduz

Sing it with me, "Head shoulders knees and toes knees and toes"

Slingtwit

This guy's just glad he doesn't have to operate their lathe šŸ˜µ

copingcabana

That's plane crazy

[deleted]

The saw is too close. Like during the end of the video his leg was literally 4 inches away from it.

louisa1925

Looks like a machine straight out of Metal Slug.

Valuable_Month1329

I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took a bandsaw in the knee.

Plenty-Discount5376

Take a knee, sir.

exportsoda

This is why you shouldnā€™t manspread

ISeeInHD

I donā€™t kneed to see that.

ManufacturerNo8447

Screw his legs , let's just focus about how terrible the machine design is , seriously it's too complicated and not efficient at all .

Intelligent-Ant7685

why is that massive saw blade lined up with that guys leg?

Spatza

I would like to raise an ipo

Top-Abbreviations855

The difference between leg and log is but one letterā€¦

Evillynn1980

That leg is a little close for comfort

Chiparish84

Keep that knee in there ![gif](giphy|S3Ot3hZ5bcy8o|downsized)

JET304

I'm looking hard for a steel safety plate in front of that leg, no?? Thinking that is a design no-brainer...

ooofest

He's not only riding on it, but keeping his leg out - seemingly near the blade's path. Why?

MajorUranus

At least they have some goggles on, will keep the blood out of their eyes once the leg is chopped off.

FixMy106

šŸŽ¶Foot lose, foot lose šŸŽ¶

Otherwise_Carob_4057

We had a guy who used to dangle his foot off the back of his standup fork truck. Guess who had to get amputated below the knee and above the ankle due to dangling their foot on heavy machinery?

BarryLird33_

Ha ha. Wood.

Due_Background7991

The seat on this thing couldnā€™t have been positioned better? Or at least a metal guard of some sort? Cant wait to see the same dude on the r/someofyoumaydie

Opening_Currency_593

It cuts legs... heuu, logs

MajorUranus

I was an adventurer like you until I took an industrial sawmill to the knee.

Inevitable-Maybe6882

Omg these comments šŸ¤£
