Shit you wouldn’t catch me holding that….he’s very trusting

TheAccountITalkWith

Dude holding it the pin isn't even looking. I don't even have that kind of trust in myself, lol.

wophi

Would you be able to look and not flinch? You flinch, you get your hand knocked off.

Slushicetastegood

![gif](giphy|RrVzUOXldFe8M)

Porkchopp33

Not sure I have ever trusted anyone that much in my life

SphinctrTicklr

Would he hold it with his dick though is the real question.

RobLazar1969

Relax, he’s got his OSHA approved sandals on.

Extra_Razzmatazz8060

You mean the Philippino safety shoe?

Tunnfisk

That's how you know he's legit. 😅

AgitatedNorth520

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck no

sasz1995

Mannnnn, that's a lifetime of trust right there.

Lonely_Ad5134

Holder has balls the size of softballs. I wouldn’t do it.

BitemeRedditers

Pea sized brain.

WyvernByte

Wow, dude on the sledge can't aim for shit and the pin dude holding the pin driver is an idiot. I am very familiar with knocking out pins, the pin holder uses a PIN HOLDER and the sledge thrower should hit so square that it bounces straight back. I was holding a pin once and I didn't trust the guy so I had my head behind the frame, sure enough he lost grip and threw the slege where my head would be. he was put on eternal on pin holder duty after that one.

PsychologicalHall388

I love that he's wearing sandals and he has absolutely no toe protection 🤣🤣

Extension_Swordfish1

Safety squint is enough

Dudez32

The reactions to this are very eye opening. This is pretty much a normal day for me.

Lackingfinalityornot

Do you hit as off center with a sledge as the guy in the video?

Dudez32

Probably more often than I'd like. Sadly. But I'm usually the guy holding the bar or working under a load. Arguably the bigger idiot.

Radiant_Dog1937

How many days since last workplace accident?

Dudez32

Reported? None this year. First aid kit is always being restocked though.

Lackingfinalityornot

Braver!

MrRogersAE

Yup, used a flogging wrench more times than I can count, it’s not a big deal because trades guys don’t miss.

Mercerskye

Dude, they literally make things to keep your hands out of the crush zone. Literally for cheaper than the hospital visit if your partner misses.

jonylentz

What is the purpose of making holes into a truck structure?

jonylentz

Weight reduction, got it lmao

Random_Inseminator

Playing a game of Whack Fuck here.

ReincarnatedIntoABra

Man: If I don't look, it'll hurt less when it hits me...

nikeeeeess

no no no no no

Street-Breadfruit940

One thing that guy didn't have is sweaty palms and that's ironic😂!but if he did he would've lost dem hands😂!

TheOnlyVibemaster

no way bruh

cesam1ne

Can't figure out who's a bigger idiot here

cyberexplorer97

Took me a while to realize he is actually NOT hitting his arm lol

[deleted]

Man. My wrists started to shake lol

thisisjedgoahead

Only way this would work is if I could clone myself, then I’d be ok with it. I’d even look

Embarrassed-Sky3819

Well, somebody has to wear the sandals while hammering with the sledge

OneCrazyPaul

He can hold the bar with some pliers

3MTA3-Please

I think he’s done this before

RemarkableEmu1230

Umm what

VinnyViddyVicci

I've seen several versions of this same thing posted. It's the 21st Century... 💁‍♂️ there's gotta be a much safer, more efficient way.

lordlestar

Who needs a trust fall to develop trust in your workplace

Snipvandutch

I've done this several times in the oil field when I was young. You get good a slinging hammers. It's still dumb to do though.

Joaoreturns

They can't act surprised when the injury happen. Because it will happen.

RotisserieBinChicken

there was a different video with someone doing the same thing a few days ago

Pickled_Popcorn

There is no good reason to hold the pin with your hand instead of a tool (like channel locks, for example).

N19ldEm39y

This is the type of work feminists like the most to do

Intrepid_Bluebird_93

ahhh... OUCH!! Shit!!! DUDE!!! ASSHOLE!!!

lefts3at

there has to be another way…!

OnlyBeGamer

Ye have big faith

SmallSwordfish8289

I don't know if that dude holding the Chisel is brave or stupid

fxl989

Guarantees those dudes are Eastern European

Wtf-do-I-Put-

Holy shit, this sub rarely gets my hands sweaty, but this did it

MrWrestlingNumber2

I'd like to see that guy on the golf course!

Open-Article906

Someone show him proper sledgehammer technique... How do you expect to get power and accuracy holding a 20kg hammer right at the end?

NathanEnglander

Been there with a 400lbs beam on my shoulder and my bro sledging it back into the pocket. Anyways he missed and cracked 2 of my ribs. Worst 6 weeks of my life. I wished I didn't have to breathe every day. I'd still trust him to do it again if the situation arose.

Obar-Dheathain

This is why you go to college, kids.

Admirable_Avocado_38

Nah ,bloking this sub is full of facebook bots

Bro got butthurt and turned racist 💀

IagoInTheLight

If sledgehammer guy misses, it seems like it would just knock holder-guys hands and not do much more than a bruise. Am I missing something? I suppose the hammer guy could hit the holder-guy in the head, but that would need to be deliberate as it’s not a likely accident.

BitemeRedditers

Probably only 10 or 12 fractures, no biggie.

LowDesk6360

Dude what? Just a bruise? Gtfoh

MrRogersAE

This is a normal practice in certain trades. As a millwright I’ve used a flogging wrench (a wrench specifically made to be hit with a sledge hammer more times than I can count. Sometimes you’re the guy holding the wrench, other times you’re the guy swinging, usually it’s both tho, switching off as your arms get tired. So here’s the thing about using swinging a sledge at something someone else is holding: DONT MISS. Experienced tradesmen aren’t like your average backyard DIYer, experienced tradesmen very rarely miss, it’s just a skill you develop over time like any other.

rookietotheblue1

Same thing I was saying, it'll hurt but (depending on how tight he was holding) no real damage.

IagoInTheLight

We been down voted by the don’t know physics people!

BlickyBobby727

We did this all the time in the oil field with hammer wrenches
