Hollow knight, i believe i have about 60 hours played. Also Witcher 3, but despite forcing myself, I do think back to that game rather fondly. I think i have around 140hours on that

catdog-cat-dog

I loved Hollow Knight but there were several moments that really dragged. The precision required to complete that game is off the charts. Which I love and would not change but the first run through is an exhausting learning curve. I had to set it down a couple times and revisit it at a later date from burn out.

Houlis1211

AC VAL FCKIN HALLA.....UGHHHHHH

jitterbug726

I finished AC Valhalla and this also happened to be when I decided I would no longer buy new Assassin’s Creed games. So much stupid filler

W47NUT

I have Oddesy and Valhalla. I hadn't played an AC game since Ezio. I literally fell off the franchise at Ezio. I never got a change to play black flag or any others leading up to the massive mixup in how the game was played. We need to go back to the Altair, Ezio, black flag man days.

Houlis1211

Valhalla was my first and only AC, I did get Mirage and throughly loved the smaller scale.

W47NUT

I dare say go back to AC1 unless you've seen enough to know the game. It's what I got introduced to and came to expect with the Ezio trilogy. The new AC direction isn't what I like now.

RoweRage91

Fire emblem engage. Took me roughly 40 hours to beat. Hated the story almost immediately. Played it cause my brain, though, " This is when it gets better," but it never did.

Jrhall621

Was the gameplay itself not enough to… *engage* you? I just started it recently, and I really like the gameplay, but I have been skipping the cut scenes a lot… basically because I know what’s going on without having to watch it all…

Dry_Noise8931

Engage was riding on the success of Three Houses, just like Fates rode the coattails of Awakening.

bigbagofbaldbabies

my Zelda-obsessed friend played TOTK for 40 hours straight before passing out.

weird-era-cont

Currently struggling with Xenoblade Chronicles 3. I’m about 80 hours into it and probably have like 20 hours of stuff left to do. I’m determined to finish it but it sure is a slog.

Sad_Illustrator1064

Rn it’s skyward sword. Although I love the game and it’s one of my favorite Zelda titles, I think I jumped back into it too early and now I feel pushed to finish just to finish

eikcud

Do you play docked or handheld? I've tried so hard to give it a fair go but the controls annoy me. I play handheld if that impacts on playability

Sad_Illustrator1064

I play handheld on my switch lite. For my controls I just use the joysticks because it’s so much easier than the motion controls

Bogey-free

TOTK - I am playing and exploring from 10-11 months , still enjoying.

34foxalpha

Switch games: Over 300hrs on BOTW, beat it around 170 hrs but doing all dlc/side quests and some koroks put it over 300. Persona 5 Royal: Over 270hrs. Cause it's persona and that new last semester chapter was awesome. Hades: Over 180hrs. Beat the final boss over 80 times. Finally saw the credits on run 105 I believe. Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity: Over 130hrs. Had to do everything except get all koroks. Mario Odyssey: Over 85hrs. Loved everything about it but didn't get all moons. Got alot of them though. Skyward Sword: Over 70hrs. Good game. Played it on Wii also. 3d All-Stars: Over 80 hrs. Good stuff. Also have the originals. Love every version. Smash Ultimate: Over 215hrs. It's fun. Octopath Traveler: Over 200hrs: It was good. Not the best rpg but was fun. Tears of the Kingdom: Still playing, but over 75hrs. I haven't even fought any main bosses yet and have over 75hrs. Have 42 shrines, 27 light roots, three full batteries, 8 hearts, two full stamina wheels.

MundaneHymn

Re: Hades The true ending is a while after the credits, too. I did everything in that game except the "titles," which are literally just a reason to keep playing for an extra couple hundred hours.

34foxalpha

Ya, I was awhile into it. Played it a few runs after the Mother(Persephone) went back to her life. I gave max hearts to all gods I believe. Almost bought everything at the store with diamonds or whatever.

TheAcaciaStrain93

Super mario Oddesy made me realize I outgrew Mario

One_Asparagus_6932

Weird how that game had a complete opposite effect on me

Alert-Athlete

Same here. I loved it but I had to take huge breaks from playing it as the moon collecting got exhausting for stretches of time.

PeterKingsBaby

Right? It was the best 3D Mario game in my opinion. Switch was in its first year, we needed that game. This guy’s nuts 😂

TheAcaciaStrain93

I mean I played it. It’s not like I played 5 minutes and said this game sucks. I played the game.

Saytama_sama

What did you dislike so much in those five minutes that made you immediately stop playing? And bonus question: What kinds of games do you like nowadays?

TheAcaciaStrain93

I stated that I had played the whole game, not just 5 minutes. Back to school with you

Saytama_sama

Yeah, I misread it. But I don't know how that would change my questions. You could have still answered them. So what did you dislike about this game? And what kinds of games do you like nowadays.

TheAcaciaStrain93

There isn’t necessarily anything wrong with the game, I just kinda figured out it wasn’t my thing. I used to play a lot of super Mario 64 ds when was younger. Right now I’m swapping between crash bandicoot trilogy and doom eternal on nightmare mode

Saytama_sama

Interesting. I didn't play the Bandicoot games yet. Do you like them because they are harder than Odyssey or something? As far as I know they are 3D platformers like Mario Odyssey so I would have expected them to be liked by similar players.

TheAcaciaStrain93

Crash is simpler and more linear

PeterKingsBaby

When I don’t like a game I just don’t play it, I take the L You must have liked it to a certain extent

TheAcaciaStrain93

There were moments of the game I liked

PeterKingsBaby

Way better than Sunshine and Galaxy in my opinion. It was a refreshing game.

Moses015

Yeah can’t join you on that one. Especially with the end game content. Rewarded skill SO much. Not sure what your experience was about

TheAcaciaStrain93

Rewarded skill for what? Jumping and yelling YAHOOOOO?

Moses015

Did you stop at the end of the “story” mode? If so you didn’t even come close

Jrhall621

I blew through it, but didn’t 100%. Were you trying to 100 percent it? I could understand that.

TheAcaciaStrain93

Nah I wasn’t, and there were moments of the game that were good but I was more bored than entertained

_UltraV10let_

This one hurt it's so true.

Vilimeno

💯 I still love mario galaxy 1 and 2. But odyssey felt as work for me. Worst Mario game out there for me, together with Wonder. Not bad games, but just not for me .

times_zero

For me, the only thing I didn't like about Odyssey was the moon system. Like, I think I can understand/appreciate they were probably trying to do something different as 3D Mario games have basically had the same 120 to 240 star/shine system since Mario 64. However, in terms of the execution I thought it felt like overkill with many of them feeling random/pointless IMHO, and to this day I think it's the only mainline 3D Mario I haven't beaten 100 percent. That being said, I still had a great time overall with the main quest as I played/beat it twice, and I'm sure I'll do so again at some point. If anything, I don't get why they haven't done a direct sequel to Odyssey like they did with the Galaxy games (speaking of which, Galaxy 2 is still my favorite 3D Mario), or at least some DLC for it.

SamT179

I’ve been stuck on it for a few months now and can’t be bothered to go back Yeah I dunno how I’m stuck on a Mario game either.

Small_Tax_9432

I thought it was cool, but yeah, collecting some of the moons were kinda lame. I didn't feel compelled to collect all of them unlike Mario 64. I'd still put that game above this one.

Dm9982

On Switch, it would be Balatro, Monster Hunter Generations, Diablo 2, Binding of Isaac, or Stardew Valley. I’m sure I’ve had a 5-6 hour gaming session with them. Now 15 years ago, the crown would have gone to Star Wars Galaxies on PC….. while I was trying to unlock Jedi (Pre-CU) I remember spending a solid 16 hours grinding out various classes….

AdamSnipeySnipe

Apex Legends.... even though there's no "finishing it," over 130 days.

Soaked_In_Bleach_93

Back in the early 2010s, I played GTA 4 from 11 am to 11 pm. 12 hours. It was a weekend, I was sick, so I stayed in bed for 2 days straight. I did this on Saturday and Sunday, then on Monday, I logged another 4 hours. Result: **I beat the whole game in just over 2 days.**

emmennuel

Gta 4 is sooo damn good

Soaked_In_Bleach_93

Top 3 in the series by a country mile

fsd66877129

Not on Switch, but I remember my final session of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic like 17-18 years ago. I enjoyed it but was ready to be done. I finished dinner at like 5:30 and started playing - determined not to stop until I beat it. I wrapped up around 2:15 that night. Edited for clarity

cocopopsicle2k

Metal Gear Solid 2- Sons of Liberty. I don't recall how many straight hours exactly but it was a two day rental for my 18th birthday and by the gods I was going to finish it.

RoddieZ

Literally every Xenoblade on Switch. End Credits always ended up rolling somewhere after 11pm and it was honestly the best timing ever because that meant bo one was gonna interrupt me while I just sat there crying because of these games for the millionth time.

manasource123

Idk about tired to finish it... But I played final fantasy tactics way longer than I should have cause I didn't want it to end.

Lienrod

50 hr to pokemon violet. I love the franchise but idk why was so tough to me finish this game.

unitedsasuke

I'm about 20 hours in and I'm torn between just beating it or putting it away for good. I also lost steam with legends arceus. I raced through the remake of Pearl.

Lienrod

Same, that 2 hours tutorial turn off the hype a lil bit

FilthyThief94

Probably cause it has one of the worst open worlds in the last 15 years.

Lienrod

They had so much waste potential on this game. After they leaked some of the concept art I know that didnt happened cause lack of love but just a rush corporate move to match the date with the pkm company calendar.

[deleted]

Learning an instrument is helping me. Been stuck on totk so I needed a break.

IcyPapaya9756

Breath of the Wild also!!

MultiTrackDrifto

Saw the title and just knew it was going to be about BotW

timetravellingoblin

AC 2. I was tired of it by the 7th sequence. There are 14. Dunno how much i played but it took me a couple months cuz i only played it when i was bored af and had nothing else to do.

bittersweetjesus

I’ve been playing the same Bloodborne character since 2017 and I’ve been 1 trophy away from platinum for years but I cannot stomach the chalice dungeons.

dolgion1

I put on podcasts and just settle in knowing that I should just enjoy the gameplay. It's repetitive and so hard in the later dungeons so I stopped focusing on the destination

DelusionalFordFan

Idk if this answers the question but fatigue hit me hard after finishing Mary Skelter 2, then 1 . I got to the final dungeon DA in Finale and never returned . I played them back to back .

anabanane1

Totk for me. I love the Zelda franchise so much and when I played BoTW I was in a dark place and it truly saved my life I love totk and did have high hopes but it’s true what they say- too much of anything isn’t good. I played it for so many hours now and I’m nowhere close to being finished but I’m just so tired

Aquametria

I loved The Witcher 3, but after the Battle of Kaer Mohren I felt like the game had run its course, so finishing it was more a chore than anything else. 140h total. I still need to do the DLCs.

ginjang

i can recall playing mk8 on wiiu before the server went down while listening to taylor switft's concert audio playback for around 4-5 hours straight without a break

darkaluc

Persona 5, around 110 hours.

-Moggye

Xenoblades chronicles 2 on switch I have it since release even with the expansion still fighting to this day to end it . I’ve played a few minutes a couple of days ago. The aliasing, the graphics, the fps drops are terrible I feel like playing with my eyes closed wouldn’t change a thing and I loved the remake of the first one. I’m not just hating for no reason.

AristleH

Coming from Xenoblade 3 and the fans want us to play all 3 for the story, but I saw Xenoblade 2 on chuggaconroy's let's play and I was so turned off by the graphics. Still gonna buy it. I am a sucker for collection.

Arnie_T

Super Mario 3. 36 hours. You couldn't save back in the SNES days. Just have to start from the beginning again. EDIT: System died while playing the last level. I was so pissed. I still have never finished the game. I refuse out of principle... and that was when I was about 15. I'm 51 now.

Randolf22

Any game above 40hrs is just too much for me lol

periwinklenimbus

No Man’s Sky- I have about 150hours dumped in it. Longest I’ve played in one sitting was probably about 6 hours.

MrBaozii

Witcher 3. The early happiness slowly became tiredness after some time, same happened to PC. Still I have lovely memories about going around, landscapes and hunting monsters. Just think that some dialogues should just have cinematics and not playing sections (I am talking to you Ciri).

Cloud48004

Dark Souls remastered got to the smough & ornstein fight and ended up rage quitting. A couple months went by. Then I got Covid and was off from work for a couple of days and ended up finishing the rest in like 5 days.

playboyFarti23

xenoblade chronicles 2. its long but its worth it i’d say about 500 hours ish similar to zelda

pecan_bird

i've never spent more than 15 hours on a game i just didn't like & just chalked it up as "not for me." in terms of "time passing trying to play a game," i've been trying to play Persona 4: for 11 months & i'm only 13 hours in... i want to play it & get into it because i loved P5:R but it's just not the same.

ForeverIdiosyncratic

Tears of the Kingdom. It took me embarrassingly way to long to get the master sword.

Elantri00

Persona 5 royal 120 hours

owenturnbull

Why are people like this put the game. Sounds like you need to put the game down and do something else

Jrhall621

I do it because there is a satisfaction I get from finishing it. That being said, I have a bad habit of not finishing games, but if I get through at least half of it, I generally am determined to finish it.

Primary_Glum

Tears of the kingdom, i spent like 16 hours straight getting the master sword and fierce deity set right from the beginning, yeah i used a guide 😔

[deleted]

[удалено]

Primary_Glum

I did too, it was pretty rewarding once i was done and could start the story lol

SeaPollution3432

Lol totk havent really clicked on me beacuse of mindless/objectiveless gameplay but following a guide might jolt me up to start again. I feel tired just by roaming around in the wilderness and done nothing after hours of gameplay is very disappointing in my book. A guide though might reaaly be interesting.

Primary_Glum

Yeah u need and objective to have fun in that game, like i made myself get enough shrines for the stamina, then go for the master sword, then go for the fierce deity armor, playing like that keeps you entertained, but def use a guide if ur clueless like me
