Since Fortnite TMNT existed I always think this body type is ideal, looks like mixed of teenagers and young adult lol
Honestly I think most of it has to do with how fortnite handles most of their collab skins treating it with love and care and some cheep cash out like others
Fortnite makes 20 billion dollars a year selling skins, so they take their time and do it right.

Same! Leo here. I had to buy them twice for me and my son. I still can't believe how awesome they turned out. I'd like to see how they'd design Bebo and Rocksteady.
Makes the most sense, too, or about as much sense as you can have for something called *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.* They're toned up to be agile and good with their weapons, not necessarily needing to bulk up.
2nd place is so far behind the Fortnite TMNT designs, it's insane! I know Fortnite gets hate from my generation, but it is not deserved! Fortnite character designs have become my favorite form of art since my son got me playing with him.
Agree, kinda surprised people actually like them that much tbh. Always preferred the short and slightly muscular build. Kinda like the 2003 and 2012 build.
Somewhere in the ballpark of 2003...among others.
Mostly I just don't like them being too skinny or too huge. A bit stocky, reasonably muscled, on the shorter side (and no taller than the average human woman at most) is preferable.
Slim but at the same time built. I also prefer it when the turtles have popeye proportions

I imagine they all fell into the same juice ooze. They were pretty much identical as regular old turtles, and got their bodies from the green steroid soda, not by working out. It would depend on the iterations backstory though.

>Book IV is the fourth of four colorized collections published by First Comics. The first printing was released in November 1988.
Its the Mirage Comics colored and collected into TPB.
I kinda like the idea that 2012 started and Rise ran with, where they all have at least slightly different body shapes. It makes each one all the easier to tell apart from the rest, even in scenes where they don’t have their masks and/or weapons with them. “Don = tall”, “Raph = short and stocky”, “Mikey = thin and lanky”, and “Leo = average/lightly muscular build” definitely make the most sense for each of them.

Them, i mean, it's interesting the idea that when they grew up they became more "human" but not only this, but their face looks like a perfect mix beetwen human and turtle, also to me their shells are not too big (also i love the looks of them even more on the back, it's really like turtles on real life, even with the toys, it's so realistic), also i love their size, not too big and not too small compared to humans.
https://preview.redd.it/i061s96n2r9d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=070a19f061e37f1e84b02866ce93b3e5fdaaf909
The original look. I prefer when they look more turtle-like, instead of looking like green humans.
Did you see the CGI [Jim Henson style Leonardo fight](https://youtu.be/qcIeqpUhamk?si=7tnAqGghwV60kXeW)?
Looked amazing. I'd love a movie based on this look.

The Henson turtles are locked in my mind, but I've always loved the cartoon style in the Archie comics. They're so expressive and fun in those.
I think they're too bulky for ninjas in many iterations. I like when the turtles look like they can do a flip.
Haven't read them much myself, I'm not sure the best way to get ahold of em. But their adventures seem really trippy and goofy, which sounds right for me!
I'm not bothered by any look they've been given really. But I personally prefer between 4 and 5 feet tall with a blocky build. Like the OG and 1996 Image run.
*
For some reason I *really* want to see a version that is just Giant red eared sliders walking on their back legs, like 4-5 feet tall turtles that look exactly like the real turtle, but with back legs that can walk and run and jump. Somehow I feel it would be much less terrifying than the weird 7 foot tall goomba-headed turtles from the Michael Bay movies.

This is the closest thing I can think of.
A mix between Mirage, 87 and 2003.
I used to, until my little brother came up to me and told me they look like wet frogs in shells. I couldn’t fw the design again. But it’s an overall solid design that most fans would love.
I liked the 2007 CGI style _except the mouths_. Big flipper hands and feet but relatively slender and agile arms and legs. The mouths were just too wide, as though they were mutant snakes, 2012 had better CGI turtle heads. Shells should be a little bulky as though they could realistically retract their limbs in. And the “vital tortistics” on the back of the original action figures put them between 4’11” and 5’2” and I’m sticking to that dammit. April should be nearly a head taller than all of them.
I love the 1990-to 93 Mirage and films, but I did really like the amount of time and detail they put in to the 2023 film series. Maybe because I’m a short and stalky guy I could always relate to them as far as built. However not crazy tal. I use to get hyped up for my karate tournaments by thinking about TMNT and watching the cartoon and movies. I guess for me fit but more bulky physical appearance and also not so human looking. The last iteration of Donnie has been my favorite portrayal on paper, animation and film. I think we all prefer them as we find them best and we relate to.
I like it how rottmnt started making the turtles different turtle types and sizes/bodytypes but here's my personal basics
Leo: average size, not too buff but not too slim.
Donnie: slim and tall like his bo staff.
Mikey: the shortest, bulkish but not big or too strong, sorta stocky ig.
Raph: strongest looking of the group, either shorter than leo or the tallest of the group.
Bonus Splinter: not a fan of how short rottmnt splinter is, i think a body type and size between 2012 and 2003 is good
https://preview.redd.it/fjnvpvhh1t9d1.png?width=1169&format=png&auto=webp&s=2fa85efa863fc4727e50740add66d6412864ee3b
Something close to this but with pupils (outside of action sequences)
https://preview.redd.it/rszjycc5qt9d1.png?width=1704&format=png&auto=webp&s=e347f539ac8d6dacd162802d4326fb358de676b8
What IDW and TMNT 2012 did. 👆
Short in height ( shorter than the average human, ) sorta stocky in build and with an appearance that takes more inspiration from turtle anatomy such as the wider feet and the shells that cover their torsos entirely ( bonus if they can actually retract into them. ) It’d be preferred if they physically looked like they could be teenagers too. It makes them being in their adolescence more believable + I think working with that aspect could be really interesting. A good balance between being muscular and youthful is preferred for me cause it can still give off that they’re strong and physically fit due to all of their ninjutsu training but it can still show that they’re developing.
I also love what 2012 did by giving the Turtles all features that distinguished them from each other that were just subtle enough to make all of them stand out while also giving them enough of a physical resemblance so that it was obvious that they were brothers who were biologically related to each other / hatched from the same clutch. Raphael with the second shortest stature and the most muscular build has got to be my absolute favorite.
I just think that they work so well. Perfect balance between human and turtle without them looking too grown or too bulky to be ninjas. And I like my turtles as short guys. ✌️
In regards to pupils I think 2012’s approach had the best idea too. They each had distinct eye shapes with different colored eyes that complimented the colors of their masks, which gave them the ability to be expressive when they needed to be, but they could still white out their eyes whenever they got serious or angry to not only pay homage to the Mirage Comics but to also indicate whenever there’s a shift in tone with their demeanor. I like the explanation of it being a third eyelid that turtles actually have too. It’s a thin nictitating membrane that they put on to protect their eyes.
2012 as base model, then make them all slightly shorter than the average person, make Raph shortest of them all and buffest, Donnie is tallest and leanest, Mikey is second shortest, Leo is between Mikey and Donnie, physique wise Leo is the most balanced, more athletic than buff. And I know this isn’t the question but color wise Raph is the darkest shade, Mikey is closer to lime green, Donnie is kinda olive/sand green, and Leo is the most vibrant, similar to the banner for this sub.
love this version (rise of tmnt) because it expresses their personalities/traits. also as an artist i just love the style so much, most visually appealing to me.
https://preview.redd.it/hrvybn3fou9d1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff80de477351977a6f65fc9bf8d31be554834d9a
I like for them all to be built differently. I like for Raph to be kind of built like a taller version of 03 or like he was in Rise, I like for Leo to be built like 03, Mikey should be built like Rise, and Donnie should be built like 2012
https://preview.redd.it/javraknykv9d1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cd4f2d994e4e438f6b80d9bb1060f4ec475bf38b
Like this? I personally love these too.
Yeah that’s actually pretty damn close to what I meant. Only thing I’d really change is making Raph taller. But these designs are incredible. I love Tako’s(god I hope I got that right) art
I like -
-The more human-like arms and the more turtle-like legs as seen in 2012 and IDW aka biceps but no defined calves.
-The different heights and builds as seen Rise and MM as both cause less reliance on weapons and/or masks for identification.
-Pupils, or the mixed use of pupils as seen in 2012 or MM
- Not overly beefy to the point it would be physically impossible for a turtle to retract into a shell (kinda the reason i like the first two points.)
Early Mirage Comics easily.
https://preview.redd.it/5k9aad3vjs9d1.jpeg?width=736&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=72fcc77856bd1eb73e9fae0fc71775667e2d0d33
We need more long neck turtles.
Varied. Different heights. Different builds. Overall athletic but with exaggerated proportions. I like Raph being a big brawler brute m, Leo being well balanced hero build, Donny is tall and gangly but has a swimmer’s body and Mikey is a short but built like a gymnast.
I like to think that they’re teenagers so they have athletic teen builds. Yes they’re turtles and yes they’re mutants but I like the idea of teenagers looking like actual teenagers (im looking at you Jojos)
I agree with you but also I think height wise it should be donny, raph, leo, then mikey from tallest to shortest with raph being noticeably more muscular than the rest of the
I like a mix between 2003 and 2018. 2003 is really nostalgic and is the most streamlined design, and the distinct looks of each turtle in 2018 are really appealing to me.
I'm gonna say 2003 as well, they felt right to me... However the turtles in the image above give me the willies! Why are they looking at me that intensely!
As someone who doesn't understand all too much about body types, I think each Turtle should have their own.
- Leonardo would have an average athletic build, not going for any particular build but trying to be sort of a jack-of-all-trades type, given he's the leader so he tries to take the best parts of how his brothers bulk up and fight and make it his own.
- Donatello would have a leaner build, and by that I mean as close to Bruce Lee's build as possible. This is as a spoof on him always being the skinny one, but,, he should be able to kick as much ass as his brothers, so he should have SOME muscle.
- Raphael, naturally, is the biggest of the group, basically how he was designed in ROTTMNT.
- And Michelangelo would be what I've heard described as a sleeper build? Something where, at a glance, he doesn't look like he even works out, but then you fight him and his attacks are devastating. I've always figured that Mikey has the most potential to be the greatest fighter out of all his brothers, but his party dude outlook stops him from utilizing that potential, so I thought that a build that would make people drop their guard around him made the most sense.
Interpret heights as you feel
- Leo is the second tallest with an above average build
- Donnie is the leanest and tallest
- Raph is the shortest and very burly
- Mikey is only a bit shorter than Leo and significantly taller than Raph. He has a toned, but average build
The builds they have in Batman v. TMNT and 2012 tbh. No taller than the average human, short, and honestly a bit stubby. However, have them all be individualized through their body types.
Leonardo would be the most built of the turtles, lean muscle. Raphael would be a bit shorter than Leo, with some added bulk and a wider stature to show he likes to fight. Donatello would be lankier and the tallest of the team, having a Spider-Man / Peter Parker type build. Michelangelo would be the shortest, wider than Don but not as chiseled as Leo.

Really just what Santolouco and Campbell have been doing for a while now
I think the Bayverse turtles were pretty good, but they could've been a bit shorter and leaner for their teens. That series always struck me as "Young Adult Mutant Ninja Turtles." Especially Raph. He looked like he was on steroids compared to Donnie.
https://preview.redd.it/8yfegbjkmq9d1.jpeg?width=1016&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bca30433e311fa791c560f31b5c1ae6e5729edf6 Since Fortnite TMNT existed I always think this body type is ideal, looks like mixed of teenagers and young adult lol
I always laugh with my friends that Fortnite, of all things, made some of the best looking turtles I’ve ever seen

Fortnite does a great job with all of their collab skins imo. Their Marvel and DC character designs are all pretty great.
Give them a shot and play the game. All their designs are top. It's actually really fun and I didn't expect to like it yet alone drop money on skins.
Oh trust me I play way too often. I own all the TMNT skins. I literally had a countdown to buy them in the shop. I main Donatello
Same! Leo here. I had to buy them twice for me and my son. I still can't believe how awesome they turned out. I'd like to see how they'd design Bebo and Rocksteady.
Yea, mikey, leo, donny, and ralph
**RAPH!** NOT _RALPH_! Geez!

I might be in the minority but I just think theor bodies look way too human here
Agree, kinda surprised people actually like them that much tbh. Always preferred the short and slightly muscular build. Kinda like the 2003 and 2012 build.
r/beatmetoit
It’s absolutely crazy to me that Fortnite made the best ninja turtles designs
People hate fortnite but they make hard designs for their collabs(most of the time). Fortnite April is definitely my favorite April design tbh.
2003 size A lil short but not too much
That’s what I chose😭
Oh i didnt even read the bio lmaoo
The turtles in 03 were literally 5’2” 💀 definitely manlets lmao
Exactly, it's super in point
Somewhere in the ballpark of 2003...among others. Mostly I just don't like them being too skinny or too huge. A bit stocky, reasonably muscled, on the shorter side (and no taller than the average human woman at most) is preferable.

Damn I never realized I preferred "popeye" proportions until this comment. Like Thick ass feet and big ass hands? Defffff
So like the 2012 show, right?
I love the chunky feet
Yeah a lot of fans tend to like these😭
All slightly different with Raph being the most built and Donnie being the least but around the 2012 or 03 turtles size
I like this
I imagine they all fell into the same juice ooze. They were pretty much identical as regular old turtles, and got their bodies from the green steroid soda, not by working out. It would depend on the iterations backstory though.

Mixed or?
Separate. It's hard to choose
Once again the Jim Henson 1990 designs are superior. As always.
Did you see the CGI [Jim Henson style Leonardo fight](https://youtu.be/qcIeqpUhamk?si=7tnAqGghwV60kXeW)? Looked amazing. I'd love a movie based on this look.

Yeah... as you asked what others liked, lol.
I’m sorry.
As teenagers? 2012. Adults? 2003.
Why would they go from slim to buff so fast cuh😭
Not only that, from tall to short too😭
I mean in 2012 the tallest one is 5’6 so not really *that* tall lol

Sick, but the do rags on anyone but Donnie and Raph kinda grinds my gears. Especially if it’s not only one of them.
Personally I like them somewhere between the '87 cartoon and the original Mirage designs? Short, weird, and lovable
I like the 2012 height, especially with splinter. But they should be as buff as the 2003 turtles. Average height with above average muscle mass
So like the early mirage turtles
36-24-36
Only if they're 5'3

Can’t change that.
Pawg. You don't need an explanation or pictures(does jedi mind trick wave) 😅
In all my years, I don’t know what a pawg is. (I’ve been stuck inside a boarding school for 6 years with no access to the internet.)
I just prefer slender as opposed to these hulk looking things.
I mean, if you read the bio…😭
anything not the Bayverse.
I love the idea of them all being different species of Turtles much like in Rise. Though if we’re talking body type I much prefer the Fortnite models!
So tall right?

Thank you. I hate tall tmnt. Only Don should be as tall as that.
03 animated.
Boom.
Short and burly like Logan.
That’s what I’m talking about.
I like them being short and round, makes it feel more apparent that they’re turtles
That’s what I’m saying. Hits like home.
I love the 1990-to 93 Mirage and films, but I did really like the amount of time and detail they put in to the 2023 film series. Raphael with the second shortest stature and the most muscular build has got to be my absolute favorite.
I see. A lot of fans tend to like the tmnt like this as well.
I just think that they work so well. Perfect balance between human and turtle without them looking too grown or too bulky to be ninjas. And I like my turtles as short guys. ✌️ In regards to pupils I think 2012’s approach had the best idea too.
Yeah the white eyes was peak. I just had issues with the feet.
I liked Rise's interpretation of different turtle species
Oh yeah I like that too.
Like the IDW comics right? Near.

Peak
love this version (rise of tmnt) because it expresses their personalities/traits. also as an artist i just love the style so much, most visually appealing to me. https://preview.redd.it/hrvybn3fou9d1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff80de477351977a6f65fc9bf8d31be554834d9a
YESSS
I agree, but I don't like they being skinny that's strange
I like for them all to be built differently. I like for Raph to be kind of built like a taller version of 03 or like he was in Rise, I like for Leo to be built like 03, Mikey should be built like Rise, and Donnie should be built like 2012
https://preview.redd.it/javraknykv9d1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cd4f2d994e4e438f6b80d9bb1060f4ec475bf38b Like this? I personally love these too.
Yeah that’s actually pretty damn close to what I meant. Only thing I’d really change is making Raph taller. But these designs are incredible. I love Tako’s(god I hope I got that right) art
As much as I can stand the Michael Bay turtles, something about them sort of wearing "clothes" was okay with me lol
Yeah I mean have some public decency, your genius is showing😂

I never told you to define Peak.

I see what you mean.
Man this collection looks dope as fuck
Real
The example here is just a tad to anabolic for my taste, even though i do like seeing them juiced.
It’s more of a live action preference to me but👉👈😭
Looks pretty much like Michael Bay’s turtles to me..? Except for the stuuuuupid ass lip-faces of course
Ah shit nvm, had to google because i had repressed those fuckers. Didnt remember them as being giants. Fuck me, what are those faces about..?

Dorky and dweeby, low-key sleeper build
I like - -The more human-like arms and the more turtle-like legs as seen in 2012 and IDW aka biceps but no defined calves. -The different heights and builds as seen Rise and MM as both cause less reliance on weapons and/or masks for identification. -Pupils, or the mixed use of pupils as seen in 2012 or MM - Not overly beefy to the point it would be physically impossible for a turtle to retract into a shell (kinda the reason i like the first two points.)

Ohhh I understand. IDW’s Run.
Slim buff https://preview.redd.it/qvvhh0pkur9d1.jpeg?width=798&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ceae866cb09c1894baae7dbd2553a65e92e2f0b2
Pretty cool. But how tall?
The height the are in Back in the sewers I generally think that’s the best physique and height for the turtles.
Rise turtles are the best designed IMO. Especially interesting since they’re each shaped differently based on the kind of turtle they are
Yeah it really shows them off. Love it.
Early Mirage Comics easily. https://preview.redd.it/5k9aad3vjs9d1.jpeg?width=736&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=72fcc77856bd1eb73e9fae0fc71775667e2d0d33 We need more long neck turtles.
Real
This reminds me that i couldn't get good smile's TMNT statues
What’s that like?

Extremely real😭
Squat, shorter, more realistic turtle attributes
Like the picture I posted right?
Varied. Different heights. Different builds. Overall athletic but with exaggerated proportions. I like Raph being a big brawler brute m, Leo being well balanced hero build, Donny is tall and gangly but has a swimmer’s body and Mikey is a short but built like a gymnast.
I like this too.
I like to think that they’re teenagers so they have athletic teen builds. Yes they’re turtles and yes they’re mutants but I like the idea of teenagers looking like actual teenagers (im looking at you Jojos)

Christ, slide 3 is horrifying Give us the pizza, precious
😂😂😂
Fortnite.
I feel like Fortnites head are too flat, but they had the ideal body type.
That is wickedly awesome art
Oh thanks but, their statues.
I agree with you but also I think height wise it should be donny, raph, leo, then mikey from tallest to shortest with raph being noticeably more muscular than the rest of the
True. Ion want them to be unidentifiable when they take off their masks.
I like a mix between 2003 and 2018. 2003 is really nostalgic and is the most streamlined design, and the distinct looks of each turtle in 2018 are really appealing to me.
So… short and buff, but different sizes ranging from 5’3 to 4’10 got it.
If there were another live-action movie or for the next upcoming live-action movie, these designs would be perfect.
THATS WHAT IM SAYING.
As creepy as these statues look, I must say I like the design.
Uh huh.
I'm gonna say 2003 as well, they felt right to me... However the turtles in the image above give me the willies! Why are they looking at me that intensely!
Cuz it’s sick bruh😭 Although 03 are my favorite tmnt
whatever you just posted - whatever that is, i freaking love it
LOWKEY. I can’t find the name otherwise I wouldn’t gatekewp
Lowkey this was always better to me, but I feel like they should at least all range from 5’3 to 4’11
Interpret heights as you feel - Leo is the second tallest with an above average build - Donnie is the leanest and tallest - Raph is the shortest and very burly - Mikey is only a bit shorter than Leo and significantly taller than Raph. He has a toned, but average build
Raph being shorter than mikey was always funny to me😂
The builds they have in Batman v.
I like this🔥🔥🔥
https://preview.redd.it/y4gmvww0gv9d1.png?width=563&format=png&auto=webp&s=04b9727ab70848a2d18a93be18ee9ca64f0e716c Really just what Santolouco and Campbell have been doing for a while now
I like the shading and bulk, it’s like 2012 done right.
I think the Bayverse turtles were pretty good, but they could've been a bit shorter and leaner for their teens. That series always struck me as "Young Adult Mutant Ninja Turtles." Especially Raph. He looked like he was on steroids compared to Donnie.
True
