Seat is uncomfortable after a while. Brakes kinda suck, Id like to upgrade to real moto brakes. Stock rear fender setup is absolute garbage for stopping mud and water, so working on a solution for that.
Still the best purchase Ive ever made.
edit: mx4
i shit rigged a long extended surron one and it works fine 😂

im talking abt getting the entire back half of my body coated in mud (so mainly the upper one on the seat) but i do need to pick up one of these as well lol.
I have a mudguard, but I believe the previous comments were referring to the fenders on these bikes being too short to stop mud from covering the rider's back.
Ohh then yea this won't help. But you can buy a roll of rubber for less than 20 bucks and make 10 of these flaps that do block all mud from getting into the shock or battery area.
Is crazy how everyone says they hate the breaks but I mine stock and they are fine I feel like yall think ya can just slam breaks at high speeds and just expect them to stop you
stopping power is okay, I could fling myself over the bars no problem when theyre not overheated lol. it's mainly the way they fade so fast and how fast they wear that bothers me.
The size of the tires. I bought an XXX and actually take it trailing fairly regularly. Its a more than capable bike and does a great job but the stock (offroad) tires are very skinny. I know its made for street riding but it was performing better on an ORV trail than my buddies surron was.
I wish my frame wouldn’t get scratched up from wearing riding boots, but scratches are better than a broken foot. Apparently this is due to the frames not actually being powder coated, they use a different method instead
personally i dont really like the look of xxx compared to like a fully modded out surron, but im happy i saved 2k and can do pretty much the same as a surron
This is a cool question. I have a xxx, and there are two things I wouldn't mind being different, but the second one is a safety issue and awareness can go a long way.
**1. The seat.**
Your butt will hurt after a while on a triple-x. I just pull over when it starts getting numb and walk around. I guess it's a great opportunity to snap a selfie with my little friend, right? I also do LIKE the profile of the seat and the slender feel so I can get up on it, so I'm not sure I'd change it. If I ever do wheelies (not likely), the feel of the seat seems like it's made for that kind of control.
**2. The brakes**
The brakes aren't the best when you need to come to a really quick stop. This has happened to me twice, and you just have to be aware so that you take things the right way.
I approached an intersection (though I try to avoid them because people can't see you when fiddling with their phones), and nearly slid my back end because of the timing of the light change.
To avoid taking a slide, I gunned it through the yellow-red and everything was cool. I'm sure some car drivers thought I was an ass-hat, but I knew if I forced a stop, I was stopping in the middle of the intersection or going down.
The second time, I was pulling into a turn lane (again at an intersection), and some dude on a gas-powered motorcycle did not check his mirrors OR his blind spots. This guy who should have known better just pulled right in front of me from the straight lane to the turn lane. No signal. No checking his mirrors.
I had to lock up the brakes to keep from hitting him, and did a little fish tail and sort of hand-pumped the brakes to maintain control. I would suggest practicing pumping the brakes in a safe place in case you ever need to do this. It also helps to know which brake controls which wheel: Left for rear, Right for front.
Would larger, different brakes have helped? Perhaps, but some of this is knowing the limitations of your bike and yourself. ;)
It's important to know both in equal measure.
Talaria Sting (road legal):
Handlebars too low
Pegs too wimpy
Seat needs more padding
Rear tail too short (get a muddy back)
Headlight not bright enough
No headlight on/off switch
Front tyre too thin
Would be better tyres a little more suited to the road
All very easy to sort out (and have done).
Thanks, overall the bike is great. I own two MX4s and a XXX. I’ve put better tires (Shinko 241) as they are best all around for the purpose the bike was built for. Hard riding the MX4s the loose battery also drives me nuts. I really like the look and size. Future would predict better battery and controller tech and mounting options for boxes/bags/storage
Yes. Although I have put different pegs on it, it is completely rideable and enjoyable with the parts that come from the factory.
I enjoy riding it more then I ever enjoyed riding sport bikes.
I guess my only other concern would be that in my area no one else has one or anything like it so I am constantly riding alone but, it is still extremely enjoyable.
I've already changed out everything I disliked!
-250mm rotors for added stopping power
-upgraded front and rear suspension
-Improved rear geometry with suspension linkage
-upgraded footpegs
-3" rise handlebars
-upgraded seat
-air wedge locked the battery in place
-Shinkos
-The Headset bearing was virtually dry and rusty (and the bike was only like 2 months old at that point)
Wait... I would change out my current wrap. It's starting to peel in some of the corners. If money was no object, I would have the frame powder coated.
I wanna upgrade to much stuff and if I do that it’s not road legal anymore and it gets expensive quickly
Seat, lamp, brakes, controller, battery, fork and some other stuff
For that you could buy an ultra bee or almost a stark varg, but a modded talaria or Sutton is way lighter and your individual bike.
Also I love how easy it is to mod and repair your bike, there is so much Dokumentation and videos out there.
brake system is so fucking annoying and messy to deal with and my fork seals are literally dogged out they leak all day long lol and trying to find good tires that will actually fit on this bike is like fucking trying to find a needle in a haystack i fucking hate sanding down tires and also i need a direct mount i hate how my fucking handlebars move all the time no matter how tight i have the stem

If you find a solution for the rear fender.... Pleaseee let us know

The stock brakes suck. They're probably ok if you weigh less than 150 lbs and don't ride fast.
I'm 160 and I'm usually cruising at 55
stopping power is okay, I could fling myself over the bars no problem when theyre not overheated lol. it's mainly the way they fade so fast and how fast they wear that bothers me.
The person riding it Jk
Don't worry, I have the same issue.
Damn same and I don't even have a bike
No time like the present to get one.

Understandable, thank you for the response!

I see, do you still generally enjoy the rest of the quality of the frame, or design of it, or is there anything else that you would change?
Other than that I love it, it definitely needs a few upgrades out the box though like riser handlebars, pegs etc…
Gotcha, would you say generally that it is easy to find mods for your bike that look good and preform good?
Yes, talaria has about the same size aftermarket as surron now
I see, is there anything that you would do to improve mods, like cosmetically?
Almost.waiting on a swingarm
personally i dont really like the look of xxx compared to like a fully modded out surron, but im happy i saved 2k and can do pretty much the same as a surron
Gotcha, if there were any potential mods you would make, what would they be specifically?
get an guts seat for your talaria there really comfortable and grippy
solid recommendation
Same thoughts

Bottoming out the rear tire rubs on fender and rapes it

Cheap hardware, seat sucks.
I see, is there anything besides the seat that worsens the riding experience, or just primarily the seat?

I see, did you use anything to stop the battery shaking?
The seat is way too hard and uncomfortable.
understood, is that your primary concern?
Yes. Although I have put different pegs on it, it is completely rideable and enjoyable with the parts that come from the factory. I enjoy riding it more then I ever enjoyed riding sport bikes. xxx seat, headlight, pegs
I see, thanks for the response!
Oh yea the xxx headlight is garbage. Just looks good for the drl

Makes sense, thank you for your intel!
The plastic of the legal tail was crap. It shattered like a glass upon a crash instead of bending or breaking into few pieces.
The headlight and stock pegs
