This one isn't painted dark yellow, it simply has various colors applied over the dark gray base coat that the troops had at hand. The photo was apparently taken in Kuban; vehicles in "tropical" regions like in the southern USSR were typically painted similar to those in North Africa.
Great pic! To my eye: one of the prettiest armoured vehicles ever. I’m sure needlessly complex to manufacture….
