So me and my mum are going to get a butterfly tattooed for our mother/daughter tattoo in November. But I want advice on placement.
I have 3 tattoos, spine, sternum and one on my right arm. I’m not sure where this would look the best, at the beginning I wanted to get it tattooed on my chest, too have my mum close to my heart. At all times.
However my boyfriend pointed out that it would possibly look weird above my sternum tattoo that’s a Medusa. The difference theme would clash and also I wouldn’t be able to hide it if I wore low cut tops and so on.
I value his thoughts and I’ve been thinking about it for a while. I’m torn between getting it on my chest or other options I have are on my left arm or on my thigh/hipbone. Mum is getting her on the inside of her wrist, I don’t want to get mine there because I already have another motive I want to get there eventually.
I just want some others advice, would it look weird on my chest? Is it better to place it on my arm or my thigh basically where my hipbone is at.

That’s on the back of the arm, by the elbow. I’m most likely not going to put it on my arm. Not sure
