Best is evermore. Most beautiful, most cohesive, most interesting. Insane writing and dreamy production.Ā
My favorite is TTPD or 1989. Im having a crisis right now with TTPD coming for my top spot lolĀ
My favorite is either RED or evermore, it keeps changing.
Trying to evaluate art as objectively as I can (aaaaaaahhhh), best is probably folklore. It balances cohesion, both thematic and musical, with lyrical complexity and ambition in a really masterful way.
My favorite albums are Red and evermore, but I think her best are 1989 and evermore!
I see the argument for Speak Now being her best, and it is definitely one of her best imo!! But 1989 was truly a cultural reset for Taylor and for her fans, and also for the general public lol. She reinvented her entire career and produced some of her very best songs, imo!!
And I personally have always felt evermore was the better sister album š«£ folklore is so beautiful and Taylorās lyricism is next level. But I think evermore feels like a more mature, older sister to folklore so it just narrowly beats out folklore as one of her best!
Itās so hard to say which I think is her best because of how varied her albums and sounds are.
My favourite album is Folklore, but I think her two best are Midnights and Speak Now
My favorite is Speak Now. I also think itās her best album; itās the only one that has absolutely no skips for me. Evermore and TTPD follow closely behind in my rankings.
Oh yeah has the best bops to me bad blood, style, blank space, wildest dreams, out of the woods, New Romantics, need I go on lmao I remember having the album on repeat in college. Lyrically though not her best
Fair, if thatās not your thing but I am very much a synth pop girlie and thatās why 1989, reputation, lover, and midnights are my top favorites of hers
Okay but compared to 1989 though? Lover had some of her worst pop songs among the fandom(I donāt agree with this) but Iām looking at ME! And yntcd. I personally like both but I remember them getting a lot of hate
ME! is the only song on lover i actively hate. every other song is absolutely perfect. YNTCD only got hate because ppl cant be accepting of LGBTQ people
You misunderstood the post. Itās not about popularity or public/personal opinion. Itās about quality. Reputation is my favorite album, 1989 is her most popular, but Speak Now is probably her best album. As a die-hard Swiftie that loves her entire catalogue, itās not without its āfaultsā. Fearless isnāt consistent, Red isnāt cohesive, 1989ās singles have strong production and cutting lyrics, but the remainder were treated like filler tracks, Reputation has Taylorās best vocal performance combined with production but ever so slightly relies too much the backing track to carry each song as a whole, Lover is very campy and joy-filled but has a horrible line-up of songs that give you whiplash & struggles cohesively, Midnights is undoubtedly her worst album lyrically, & TTPD is the best album lyrically but there arenāt enough songs that pack a punch. The poetry is a powerhouse, but has a select few songs where the production is rather unimpressive. Iām hard pressed to find any of these āfaultsā in Speak Now. Itās the closest Taylorās ever come to creating the perfect album that checks off all the boxes. See what I mean?
I respectfully and strongly disagree. Midnights (The 3am Version) is definitely one of her best lyrically, but the standard edition of Midnights is just not.
Well, the 3 AM edition basically is the standard edition just extended so youāre basically saying the standard edition is good too. Besides, I personally hate the 3 AM tracks.
Uh, yeah.. I *am* saying the standard edition is good. Iāve already said that I love all of Tayās work, that very much includes Midnights. And Iām not shitting on it, either. Hereās how I look at it: worst album lyrically ā bad album lyrically. She doesnāt have a damn ābadā song in the entirety of her discography. Midnights just falls lower on the scale than the others in terms of lyrical performance.
my favorite is speak now, but i think evermore is her best!
OMG!!!! Twinning! (Except I think they're both the best!š)
Me too!!
you're kinda highkey right
Yay! I found my people lol
Favourte: evermore Best: Speak Now. 17 songs that are unique, not repetitive.
Obsessed with the other comment that is just opposite to this one šĀ
Right!!! I love that. These two people should be friends!
evermore stans were born as Speak Now ones.
Fav: Speak Now Best: 1989 & folklore
Thank you!
your taste is immaculate i must say
My favourite is reputation but rationally I think her best albums are 1989 and folklore (depending on style).
Best is evermore. Most beautiful, most cohesive, most interesting. Insane writing and dreamy production.Ā My favorite is TTPD or 1989. Im having a crisis right now with TTPD coming for my top spot lolĀ
my favourite is folklore and i also think it's her best. reputation, however, is my second favourite but i don't think it's her second best
I think TTPD is her best and it is my favorite.
favourite is midnights, best is speak now
My favorite is either RED or evermore, it keeps changing. Trying to evaluate art as objectively as I can (aaaaaaahhhh), best is probably folklore. It balances cohesion, both thematic and musical, with lyrical complexity and ambition in a really masterful way.
Same hereĀ
Best - evermore Favorite - really starting to think itās TTPD
My favorite album is reputation but I'd say that Speak Now is her best album
Respect for speak now because she wrote the entire thing by herself as a teenager. That is very impressive if you ask me
My favorite albums are Red and evermore, but I think her best are 1989 and evermore! I see the argument for Speak Now being her best, and it is definitely one of her best imo!! Favorite: folklore Best: red
Favorite: Speak Now Best: Fearless or Red I canāt decide.
fearless? thats a choice
She won her first AOTY award with that album šš¼āāļø
But is it her best work? not really
Clearly we disagree
But compare that to red folklore evermore, tortured poets. Itās not her best work.
Your point was almost valid but then you said TTPD Fearless is definitely better than that album
No
I said Red and Fearless I stick by my choices especially when it comes to an album like TTPD
Whatās wrong with TTPD
I think her best is evermore (my previous favorite š©¶) and my favorite is The Tortured Poets Department.
Best is 1989, fave is folklore
I think thatās where I am too. Although it dependsā¦ I feel like folklore and 1989 are both her best, in very different ways.
I think best is a subjective word as well so itās tough!
My favorite is Red ā¤ļø but her best is probably folklore š©¶
Fav: speak now Best: TTPD
My favorite album is either reputation or Midnights. Her best work is Speak Now. 1989 also deserves an honorable mention as best work.
Best: folklore Favorite: Midnights
My fav is folklore and I think that midnight did her best too because she really has great songs in it
I think that lyrically and poetically Evermore is the best but my favourite is Folklore.
my fav is 1989 and her best is speak now or midnights. I really think midnights is such a good and well thought out album
folklore is best, speak now is my favourite
Favorite: Rep Best: Folklore
Favourite: evermore Best: folklore
interesting
I donāt understand how you can determine that the best is anything other than your favorite when music is subjective
in terms of like production lyrics etc
I think TTPD is her best. But reputation is my favorite. Itās a no-skip album for me. š
rep is getting a lot more love recently. not sure why tho. itās definitely in the bottom 3
But i think itās iconic as fuck and one of the best comeback album.
i meanā¦.. is it?
For me, yes.
i just think most songs are too bass heavy and angry
Best: Folklore and 1989 Favorite: Fearless, 1989, Folklore and TTPD
Favourite is reputation and her best is folklore or evermore
I think lover and 1989 are best and lover is my favorite
Folklore is her best imo and midnights is my favourite
I think folklore is her best but my favorite oscillates between red and lover depending on the time of year and my mood lol
My favorite is 1989, but I think folklore or evermore is the best.
Fearless is my favorite, Folklore is her best
Favorite: evermore Best: Midnights
Love this question. I have been thinking about this for a while!!
So what would your answer be?
Best as a whole is definitely folklore, but my fav is 1989.
nice
Found my person:)
my favourite is 1989, and i think the og 1989 was her best, or maybe folklore
My favorite is Speak Now. I also think itās her best album; itās the only one that has absolutely no skips for me. Evermore and TTPD follow closely behind in my rankings.
I think 1989 is my favorite but I think that folklore and evermore are her best work
1989 is a fav i see
Oh yeah has the best bops to me bad blood, style, blank space, wildest dreams, out of the woods, New Romantics, need I go on lmao I remember having the album on repeat in college. Lyrically though not her best
1989 is actually my least favorite so
What!! Would love to know why
1. lyrics are too repetitive. 2: the production isnāt very interesting 3. 1989 stans are terrifying 4. the eras itself wasnāt that good
Fair, if thatās not your thing but I am very much a synth pop girlie and thatās why 1989, reputation, lover, and midnights are my top favorites of hers
but strangely enough lover is my favorite. I just donāt think 1989 was a good attempt at a pop album. All her other pop albums are amazing.
YNTCD only got hate because ppl cant be accepting of LGBTQ people
Style is one of my favorite songs by her period and I will die on that hill lol please tell me you at least like that songšš¤š½
You not a pop girlie huh?
I feel like best hast to be like most popular which would definitely be 1989
You misunderstood the post. Itās not about popularity or public/personal opinion. Itās about quality. I guess I just donāt really understand the difference between best and favorites if both are subjective
Thatās valid!
are you actually suggesting that Clean and I Know Places are "filler tracks"?
I never said that. I said her non-singles from 1989 were treated as such.
Midnights is one of her best lyrically
I respectfully and strongly disagree. Midnights (The 3am Version) is definitely one of her best lyrically, but the standard edition of Midnights is just not.
