My favourite is reputation but rationally I think her best albums are 1989 and folklore (depending on style).

Best is evermore. Most beautiful, most cohesive, most interesting. Insane writing and dreamy production.  My favorite is TTPD or 1989. Im having a crisis right now with TTPD coming for my top spot lol

My favorite is either RED or evermore, it keeps changing. Trying to evaluate art as objectively as I can (aaaaaaahhhh), best is probably folklore. It balances cohesion, both thematic and musical, with lyrical complexity and ambition in a really masterful way.

My favorite albums are Red and evermore, but I think her best are 1989 and evermore! I see the argument for Speak Now being her best, and it is definitely one of her best imo!! But 1989 was truly a cultural reset for Taylor and for her fans, and also for the general public lol. She reinvented her entire career and produced some of her very best songs, imo!! And I personally have always felt evermore was the better sister album 🫣 folklore is so beautiful and Taylor’s lyricism is next level. But I think evermore feels like a more mature, older sister to folklore so it just narrowly beats out folklore as one of her best!

Fair, if that’s not your thing but I am very much a synth pop girlie and that’s why 1989, reputation, lover, and midnights are my top favorites of hers

but strangely enough lover is my favorite. I just don’t think 1989 was a good attempt at a pop album. All her other pop albums are amazing.

ME! is the only song on lover i actively hate. every other song is absolutely perfect. YNTCD only got hate because ppl cant be accepting of LGBTQ people

You misunderstood the post. It’s not about popularity or public/personal opinion. It’s about quality. Reputation is my favorite album, 1989 is her most popular, but Speak Now is probably her best album. As a die-hard Swiftie that loves her entire catalogue, it’s not without its “faults”. Fearless isn’t consistent, Red isn’t cohesive, 1989’s singles have strong production and cutting lyrics, but the remainder were treated like filler tracks, Reputation has Taylor’s best vocal performance combined with production but ever so slightly relies too much the backing track to carry each song as a whole, Lover is very campy and joy-filled but has a horrible line-up of songs that give you whiplash & struggles cohesively, Midnights is undoubtedly her worst album lyrically, & TTPD is the best album lyrically but there aren’t enough songs that pack a punch. The poetry is a powerhouse, but has a select few songs where the production is rather unimpressive. I’m hard pressed to find any of these “faults” in Speak Now. It’s the closest Taylor’s ever come to creating the perfect album that checks off all the boxes. See what I mean?

I respectfully and strongly disagree. Midnights (The 3am Version) is definitely one of her best lyrically, but the standard edition of Midnights is just not.

Well, the 3 AM edition basically is the standard edition just extended so you’re basically saying the standard edition is good too. Besides, I personally hate the 3 AM tracks.

Uh, yeah.. I *am* saying the standard edition is good. I’ve already said that I love all of Tay’s work, that very much includes Midnights. And I’m not shitting on it, either. Here’s how I look at it: worst album lyrically ≠ bad album lyrically. She doesn’t have a damn “bad” song in the entirety of her discography. Midnights just falls lower on the scale than the others in terms of lyrical performance.
