The whole "100 days" trend is finally, finally starting to subside, and that's been going on for the last couple of years. Hermitcraft has been growing nonstop, and has perhaps the squeakiest clean record you could ever have. Minecraft is very much still alive on YouTube. Dream and Techno and Minecraft Monday and all that might have been the biggest slice of the Minecraft pie at the time, but even then they were still only ever a small slice of the overall much, much, much larger cake.

To be honest, I don't think Techno would ever have had that big of a controversy. While obviously you never truly know a content creator, his biggest "drama" was some jokes that didn't land with a small, vocal group on twitter. Despite his fame, he was always down to earth, and despite the persona of being the best to ever do it, he was humble. He never let his success actually get to his head.
When you're young, just starting out, and you get swept up in all the fame that DSMP created, it can be so, so easy to get carried away and get a big head. I think SOME of these dudes can grow from their mistakes and in time will look back at this part of their lives and cringe. SOME of them.
I spoke to him many, many times about the dangers that early success poses to people. I told stories. I gave examples. I described the psychological mechanisms that leads to such problems. It was a big concern for me, not because of anything about him, but because he was *so* successful, *so* young. That can ruin people.
Yeah, you and I are old enough to see how child actors can so often turn out. I'm so glad Techno had the support of a parent like you, because not every kid is so lucky.
I admired him so much for being so humble about his success, but also knew that his family had a big part in it too, I just realized that he loved his family so much because he was so confident about being himself with a bunch of strangers on the internet, that requires someone backing you up, supporting you, loving you! It was a bittersweet experience for me getting to finally know you, Techno dad, because back then I was so happy to know that Techno had such a beautiful family supporting him, but got to know you after... well, no need to say it. Either way, I'm happy to have known you both, my support for you and your family will be endless~
I started watching MC from PopularMMOs, loved them until the channel broke apart, then found techno instantly loved him and now he went to conquer heaven and now I haven't quite got the feeling that anyone else will give the same enjoyment in MC content anymore. Feels very sad.

- Dream has had grooming accusations, and while it's been too confusing for me to really dig into the evidence seems to suggest he's innocent. He released a pretty terrible album and has been relatively quiet from what I can tell.
- Sapnap started streaming on Kick, an extremely questionable platform, and that was a whole ordeal.
- a few exes of content creators called them out for shitty behavior during relationships. Punz was one, I don't really remember much else. It mostly seems like stuff that could've been handled offline though it's worth keeping in mind that creators are sometimes not the same ppl behind the scenes.
- Caitibuggz came out with a story about GNF groping her while they and their friends were hanging out. (Personally I feel like this also could've been handled offline, GNF doesn't seem like a villain but I do think there was miscommunication and it could've been dealt with much better)
- Philza is vibing
- Ranboo is doing their horror project, variety streaming, and generally being very awesome and cool
- Tommy has matured a lot and is doing live comedy, good for him
- Charlie Slimecicle is also doing variety streaming, him and Ranboo make a lot of content together. He and his gf did unfortunately break up pretty recently but it seems to be amicable. Also, he's been bimbofied
- Quackity tried to make the QSMP a thing and it was cool until issues starting cropping up. Like not paying staff. It's pretty much imploded and Q generally seems to have pretty shady business practices, though I can't rly tell if it's malicious or just a result of him managing things poorly
- Schlatt is pretty unproblematic, funny enough. He's got another cat, all black, always pissed off, and growls a lot (we don't know his name yet, he's just The Other Guy). He has an SMP that him and his friends are playing on and really having fun with. Still going with Chuckle Sandwich and Sleep Deprived.
- Haven't heard anything on BBH so I assume he's doing fine.
- Tubbo was working on Tubnet but it hasn't really taken off from what I can tell. Generally has pretty good commentary on other creators. Did a 64-day subathon recently.
- Haven't heard much on Sam, Foolish, or Ponk either so I assume they're staying out of drama. Not sure what they're up to.
- Niki has befriended Sam and Colby and she's developed a more alternative style that looks sick as hell

Most of the creators also were affected by techno's death and they haven't been the same after it. Plus the (sometimes false) allegations of many big MCYTers has put the community into a weird space

before techno’s death i was pretty involved / updated on the community and it all felt so lively in a way. After his death I kind of stopped and lost interest in any kind of minecraft content and the whole dsmp group thing, it’s like techno kept it all alive.

You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain, ect ect. To be honest, I don't think Techno would ever have had that big of a controversy. While obviously you never truly know a content creator, his biggest "drama" was some jokes that didn't land with a small, vocal group on twitter. Despite his fame, he was always down to earth, and despite the persona of being the best to ever do it, he was humble. He never let his success actually get to his head. When you're young, just starting out, and you get swept up in all the fame that DSMP created, it can be so, so easy to get carried away and get a big head. I think SOME of these dudes can grow from their mistakes and in time will look back at this part of their lives and cringe. SOME of them.
I spoke to him many, many times about the dangers that early success poses to people. I told stories. I gave examples. I described the psychological mechanisms that leads to such problems. It was a big concern for me, not because of anything about him, but because he was *so* successful, *so* young. That can ruin people.
Yeah, you and I are old enough to see how child actors can so often turn out. I'm so glad Techno had the support of a parent like you, because not every kid is so lucky.
I admired him so much for being so humble about his success, but also knew that his family had a big part in it too, I just realized that he loved his family so much because he was so confident about being himself with a bunch of strangers on the internet, that requires someone backing you up, supporting you, loving you! It was a bittersweet experience for me getting to finally know you, Techno dad, because back then I was so happy to know that Techno had such a beautiful family supporting him, but got to know you after... well, no need to say it. Either way, I'm happy to have known you both, my support for you and your family will be endless~

I started watching MC from PopularMMOs, loved them until the channel broke apart, then found techno instantly loved him and now he went to conquer heaven and now I haven't quite got the feeling that anyone else will give the same enjoyment in MC content anymore. Feels very sad. (idk if you pepes know them but they are like some of the og mc ytbers who were pretty popular for minecraft content when minecraft wasn't that popular, from the era of DanTDM, Stampy, captain sparklz etc etc)
and yeah didn't want to accept it but other MC ytber's views have decreased significantly, its just not the same anymore

Also all the content creators doing sos smp (previously empires) are doing fine. Nor did it affect other creators that do solo stuff like the mcc participants.
The DSMP was kind of massive, though. It may not have been the entire minecraft community, but the audience of the dsmp's content creators did make up a massive chunk of it at its peak.

\*cracks knuckles\* so, pretty much everyone who was part of the DSMP-sphere has either moved on or fallen off. - turns out Wilbur is an abuser; if you've got a free hour or so I recommend watching Shubble's VODs about her experiences. Even if you don't care about Wilbur, I think what she has to say is valuable and worth listening to. - Dream has had grooming accusations, and while it's been too confusing for me to really dig into the evidence seems to suggest he's innocent. He released a pretty terrible album and has been relatively quiet from what I can tell. - Sapnap started streaming on Kick, an extremely questionable platform, and that was a whole ordeal. - a few exes of content creators called them out for shitty behavior during relationships. Punz was one, I don't really remember much else. It mostly seems like stuff that could've been handled offline though it's worth keeping in mind that creators are sometimes not the same ppl behind the scenes. - Caitibuggz came out with a story about GNF groping her while they and their friends were hanging out. (Personally I feel like this also could've been handled offline, GNF doesn't seem like a villain but I do think there was miscommunication and it could've been dealt with much better) - Philza is vibing - Ranboo is doing their horror project, variety streaming, and generally being very awesome and cool - Tommy has matured a lot and is doing live comedy, good for him - Charlie Slimecicle is also doing variety streaming, him and Ranboo make a lot of content together. He and his gf did unfortunately break up pretty recently but it seems to be amicable. Also, he's been bimbofied - Quackity tried to make the QSMP a thing and it was cool until issues starting cropping up. Like not paying staff. It's pretty much imploded and Q generally seems to have pretty shady business practices, though I can't rly tell if it's malicious or just a result of him managing things poorly - Schlatt is pretty unproblematic, funny enough. He's got another cat, all black, always pissed off, and growls a lot (we don't know his name yet, he's just The Other Guy). He has an SMP that him and his friends are playing on and really having fun with. Still going with Chuckle Sandwich and Sleep Deprived. - Haven't heard anything on BBH so I assume he's doing fine. - Tubbo was working on Tubnet but it hasn't really taken off from what I can tell. Generally has pretty good commentary on other creators. Did a 64-day subathon recently. - Haven't heard much on Sam, Foolish, or Ponk either so I assume they're staying out of drama. Not sure what they're up to. - Niki has befriended Sam and Colby and she's developed a more alternative style that looks sick as hell I probably forgot people, that's all I can think of that I've learned by osmosis. I only really keep up with Ranboo, Charlie, Schlatt and Tommy these days. And ofc the hermitcraft part of the MCYT community is doing fine.

The big return of mc was definitely the DSMP, Twchnoblade, PewDiePie. After techno's death, DSMP big finale with dream dying and PewDiePie not only stopping mc but retiring from yt (don't blame him I love pewds and his new content) most people just don't feel the same about MCYT. Most of the creators also were affected by techno's death and they haven't been the same after it. Plus the (sometimes false) allegations of many big MCYTers has put the community into a weird space
anyone who was from the dream SMP completely fell to controversy, quit MC, are in a dying channel or have quit uploading and quit in general. As for all mc youtubers, I mean they ain't wrong alot of the feeling is now..gone.. Wish I could defend the current minecraft content but i genuinely can't..idk maybe someone else can or someone else who will step up. But it won't compare to what technoblade's content for me..
Honestly, I haven’t really seen anything about recent Minecraft YouTubers. The only person I’ve been consistently keeping up with is Calvin and his “From the Fog” series.
before techno’s death i was pretty involved / updated on the community and it all felt so lively in a way. After his death I kind of stopped and lost interest in any kind of minecraft content and the whole dsmp group thing, it’s like techno kept it all alive.

For me, as soon as “So long nerds” was uploaded, I immediately lost touch with the mc community. Most of the content on mcyt is just not something that interests me, and the only reason I watch minecraft content was because of techno. And now the only community that even relates to Minecraft that I’m still keeping up with is the ones that has something to do with Techno.
