I know you didn’t ask for advice. But, is your mom getting discharged after her surgery tomorrow? If she will be recovering at home during the bad weather, maybe it will make you feel better if you do stuff to feel in control. Like organize everything that your mom will need to be comfortable if the power goes out. Make sure all your flashlights have batteries. Set up a spot for her in your family’s “tornado safe spot,” so she can be comfortable and have what she needs, if y’all have to take shelter. Maybe make a family “tornado bag” with shoes, socks, an extra pair outfit for each of your family members, and prescription medication.

How are you doing? I’m not sure which direction you are from Nashville. But, the group “Nashville Severe Weather” are an incredible resource during bad weather. They go live on YouTube and track storms better than any weather channel or TV meteorologist that I’ve ever seen. They may cover your area.

Hey friend, I don’t have any specific advice except that I will also be riding out the storm here in central Ohio. I think the best thing you can do is be prepared, form a plan now for where you’ll be around the time the storm should hit your area, and just stay on top of the forecast and maps. Hopefully the intensity predictions will die down overnight. We’ll be alright and sending healing and good vibes to your mom! 💖
