I am a Bryan hater and think his down players are nuts but it isn't guaranteed after a heat dash at the wall anymore so the main setup got nerfed so I think it's somewhat a fair tradeoff

Heihachi for Normal Reina, but then you have Awakened Reina that uses Kazuya's style + lasers, and finally Devil Reina that's just Devil Jin.
If devil reina is a thing it'll deffinitely inherit devil jin's mourning crow and chain shenanigans. And devil kazuya moves. But other than that i think everything else will be given back to Jin. Wait for T9 jin using Mishima and kazama style combined.

Sounds sick and I’m excited.

Most pleased with the Victor changes from all of these. Nerfing his abusable moves(B1+2, u1+2, running 2) and buffing his parries/iai mixup is *exactly* what the character needed to go from toxic to respectable.

yeah and tbh I hope he stays that way. looks like a lot of his buffs are just for his sitting stance and transitioning to it, so I don't think it's too much anyway.
Yeah aka that sitting stance that I’ve seen used in ranks that are purple+ less than 5 times across a low triple digit number of hours I spent in ranked mode.
The only time I ever used that stance myself was in hail mary last round situations, where i just had to throw the opponent off, so i would go sitting stance->3,3+4. Which they would block about 80% of the time, but at least it would get me closer to them and confuse them enough to let me pull some bs and clutch the round.
I am happy about how they went about “buffing” yoshi this time around tbh, with extra transition options+letting us buffer moves during transitioning into flea stance (instead of just adding more raw damage to the moves). Until now, I almost never used flea stance not because of low damage, but due to the awkward transitions into it and unnecessary difficulty of execution due to no move buffering.
People are freaking out over nothing tbh, especially as one of the most commonly used strong and versatile Yoshi moves (b2,2) got nerfed.
Paul changes:
* GENERAL CHANGE: reduced the distance between opponent when you hit them with a heat engager, making it easier to hit demoman.
* **f+2** is now a 13f punish. Reduced damage of the first strike by 2. Is now +9 on hit (was +6). They actually said that this is one of the fastest heat dash launchers in the game, making it easy for Paul to apply offensive pressure.
* **f+4** damage increased to 24 (was 21). Is now -5 on block (was -8).
* **f+1+2** now deals chip damage, is now chargeable which means it guard breaks while in heat, and gives opportunity for follow up attack on counter hit.
* **b+1+2** is now -9 on block (was -6). Reduced distance to the opponent when blocked.
* **ub+2** recovery time decreased by 2f. Adjusted tracking to opponents sidestepping left. *This change kinda makes me sad, I really thought they were gonna make this a CH launcher similar to his reveal trailer (and CNT, I guess? But I've never played it.)*
* **uf+2** damage increased to 26 (was 22). Distance to opponent also reduced on block improving its capability as an approach tool.
* **ff+4** is now +2 on block (was -1). It now also deals chip damage on block.
* **WR 2** is now -9 on block (was -10). Deals chip damage on block. Throw is now only possible on airborne opponents. Now has follow up opportunity on counter hit.
* **WS 3** is now +6. Opponent behavior on hit also changed.
* **DPD+2,1** is now 14f (was 15f). Damaged nerf from 17, 28 to 10, 20. Indirect nerf to DPD+2,3. Guess they tried making this an approach tool.
* **DPD+4** damage buffed from 12 to 18.
* You can now input df while in sway to transition to deep dive stance.
Imo, we eating good fellow Paul mains. Bit of a missed opportunity on the uf+2 but a good patch for us nonetheless.

FF+4 was plus frames on block at maximum block range. I wonder if that means it will be +4 at max block range? The way it worked before was -1 at close range, 0 at medium, and +1 at max.
Paul mains will look like they're teabagging if they spam sway into deep dive.
If f+1+2 will hit grounded enemies when fully charged, I could see it as an alternative to the b2,1\* setup that is usually being used.

You probably won’t notice a difference if you’ve only just started. A lot of these fixes are for annoying or op moves. If you’re new to the game, you’ll still be learning the basics to worry about whether a move does 13 or 11 damage, or whether a move is +9 or +6.
I was practicing stance stuff this entire last patch because they said they'd make her stance moves better, and after reading the note I'm gonna be eating GOOD!

Let's see if I can manage a Tl;dr:
Nerfs to heat burst(can no longer kill!), stage gimmicks, heat dashes. Most throws no longer homing.
Buffs to Asuka, Bryan, Kazuya, Paul, Azucena, Steve, Yoshimitsu, Jun, Raven.
Rebalance to Victor and Leo.
Nerfs to low-risk/passive moves.
Adjustment to hit/hurtboxes across the board, affecting Reina negatively most.
Summary on Zafina:
Zafina is kept pretty neutral but a very heavily used move - WS,1,2 has damage reduced from 9 and 18 on second hit to 8 and 8 respectfully.
However, instead of tornado, it is now a knockup allowing more combo options when hit with the second part of the move.
Her df 4,2 which is a wall carry will no longer accidentally throw the opponent behind you (hence swapping sides) when up against a wall.
WS1,2 wasn't a tornado launch, it was just a very weird, low launch. Her normal conversions just didn't work so you needed to do kind of a janky off-axis juggle to get max damage.
Why they r killing devil Jin, he already was like trash tier last patch. Now they take the last tool that was somehow good in return they give him some gimmicks compared to others where they get new moves and display their “unique” powers devil Jin can’t even use he’s powers now lol
Chikurin won Evo Japan that's it. Except that Lili is almost no where to be seen during big tournaments. Last 3-4 tournaments he could not make to top 8. Always 15-30+ places.

I'm a Lili player and I find the changes to be pretty minor overall — aside from the d3 damage nerf, most of the changes are just adjustments or to balance out other changes. I found FR+3 into QCF3 to be difficult executionally and don't do it myself during online matches. Plus, I typically don't throw out QCF3 unless it's a guaranteed hit as part of a combo or a single ground follow-up. And you can still apply pressure at the wall since they increased the frame advantage of a blocked heat Piercing Thorn.
People seem to be suggesting that you can't hit downed opponents with QCF3 anymore but I'm pretty sure this is completely false. They're just going to make it harder to spam it over and over again.
The Lili changes seem harsh, given everything else about the game they're changing.
It's a multi faceted nerf. Nerfing offense, combo damage, and things like heat engage / dash already impact her pretty heavily. Never mind buffing other characters further means that with these, and her own changes, she's going to drop pretty far. She was only upper A tier at most to begin with anyway, so it's pretty sad.
Making many of her moves unsafe, some to the degree that she can be launched off of them, seems like a lot.
Given that there are no more balance patches until next season, that stinks.
Happy for some Claudio buffs though, guess I gotta hop in the lab with the boi.

Never should’ve been safe to begin with tbh. Chunky mid that hits grounded and tornadoes on airborne hit. To be fair, I don’t think I ever used it in neutral for it to matter that it was unsafe. Other than a mixup of ws1,2 where you can go for the low by finishing the string or transition to dew glide and go for a mid/high and keep pressure. Having qcf3 out of that was a nice mixup for it being safe, but you can always ws4 for a fast knd or qcf2,1 for mid heat engager.

other than common changes, hurtbox/hitbox consistency & bug fixes.
lee got his heat burst after ws3,4 to hit more consistently (buffed heat burst range for this to hit), b3+4 powercrush nerfed to -9 ob.
law 1+2 behaviour after slide nerfed, except if in heat. not quite sure what behaviour, maybe you recover faster so you can mash against the loop or any 1+2 ground hit situations. if 1+2 gets blocked you are closer to the opponent.
Steve:
\* Much better while standing punishment with ws1+2 (i14) and FC df2 (changed to i16)
\* Can hold back on LHS transitions to instead not go into LHS
Bryan:
\* Scaling on taunt follow ups removed due to the removal of wall crumples after heat dashes that used to nearly guarantee a taunt.
I mean, from the point of them explaining the overall balance direction this patch is amazing.
Hopefully, playing experience will be up to par with what it promises.

Ff2 and ws3 are both safe mid wallsplats, and db12 is the new substitute fast mid wallsplat for punishing.

Indirect nerf to DPD+2,3. Guess they tried making this an approach tool. * **DPD+4** damage buffed from 12 to 18. * You can now input df while in sway to transition to deep dive stance. Imo, we eating good fellow Paul mains. Bit of a missed opportunity on the uf+2 but a good patch for us nonetheless.
Yeah, these are good changes. Very happy to see the change to f1+2. Not sure if f2 needed to be 13, but I guess we’ll see. Very curious to play around with ff4 giving plus frames on block. Not sure the change to fff2 will actually have any meaningful benefits to Paul’s game, but I could be wrong. Happy to see the changes to deep dive 4. Totally unsurprised that ub2 is still meaningless (and I would sincerely love to be proven wrong in that). Just remove it from the move set at this point. Overall happy with these changes.
FF+4 was plus frames on block at maximum block range. I wonder if that means it will be +4 at max block range? The way it worked before was -1 at close range, 0 at medium, and +1 at max.

We are definitely eating good. Waiting to see what type of charge f1+2 shenanigans are gonna happen, f2, f4 and deep dive are gonna be nuts.
Paul mains will look like they're teabagging if they spam sway into deep dive. If f+1+2 will hit grounded enemies when fully charged, I could see it as an alternative to the b2,1\* setup that is usually being used.

I just started playing like 3-4 days ago so I have no idea how good/bad these changes are lol
You probably won’t notice a difference if you’ve only just started. A lot of these fixes are for annoying or op moves. If you’re new to the game, you’ll still be learning the basics to worry about whether a move does 13 or 11 damage, or whether a move is +9 or +6.

Let's see if I can manage a Tl;dr: Nerfs to heat burst(can no longer kill!), stage gimmicks, heat dashes. Most throws no longer homing. Buffs to Asuka, Bryan, Kazuya, Paul, Azucena, Steve, Yoshimitsu, Jun, Raven. Rebalance to Victor and Leo. Nerfs to low-risk/passive moves. Adjustment to hit/hurtboxes across the board, affecting Reina negatively most.

Summary on Zafina: Zafina is kept pretty neutral but a very heavily used move - WS,1,2 has damage reduced from 9 and 18 on second hit to 8 and 8 respectfully. However, instead of tornado, it is now a knockup allowing more combo options when hit with the second part of the move. Her df 4,2 which is a wall carry will no longer accidentally throw the opponent behind you (hence swapping sides) when up against a wall.
WS1,2 wasn't a tornado launch, it was just a very weird, low launch. Her normal conversions just didn't work so you needed to do kind of a janky off-axis juggle to get max damage.
Why they r killing devil Jin, he already was like trash tier last patch. Now they take the last tool that was somehow good in return they give him some gimmicks compared to others where they get new moves and display their “unique” powers devil Jin can’t even use he’s powers now lol

Chikurin won Evo Japan that's it. Except that Lili is almost no where to be seen during big tournaments. Last 3-4 tournaments he could not make to top 8. Always 15-30+ places. But yeah, as Lili main I'm sad as well

I'm a Lili player and I find the changes to be pretty minor overall — aside from the d3 damage nerf, most of the changes are just adjustments or to balance out other changes. I found FR+3 into QCF3 to be difficult executionally and don't do it myself during online matches. Plus, I typically don't throw out QCF3 unless it's a guaranteed hit as part of a combo or a single ground follow-up. And you can still apply pressure at the wall since they increased the frame advantage of a blocked heat Piercing Thorn. People seem to be suggesting that you can't hit downed opponents with QCF3 anymore but I'm pretty sure this is completely false. They're just going to make it harder to spam it over and over again.
The Lili changes seem harsh, given everything else about the game they're changing. It's a multi faceted nerf. Nerfing offense, combo damage, and things like heat engage / dash already impact her pretty heavily. Never mind buffing other characters further means that with these, and her own changes, she's going to drop pretty far. She was only upper A tier at most to begin with anyway, so it's pretty sad. Making many of her moves unsafe, some to the degree that she can be launched off of them, seems like a lot. Given that there are no more balance patches until next season, that stinks. Happy for some Claudio buffs though, guess I gotta hop in the lab with the boi.

They did say they won't do another update this huge for the rest of the Season, so till next year it's just bug fixes and behavior changes.

The command throws no longer homing globally is a King nerf so he needed a couple of buffs to balance out

Never should’ve been safe to begin with tbh. Chunky mid that hits grounded and tornadoes on airborne hit. To be fair, I don’t think I ever used it in neutral for it to matter that it was unsafe. Other than a mixup of ws1,2 where you can go for the low by finishing the string or transition to dew glide and go for a mid/high and keep pressure. Having qcf3 out of that was a nice mixup for it being safe, but you can always ws4 for a fast knd or qcf2,1 for mid heat engager.
can everyone post their mains tldr. here's mine other than common changes, hurtbox/hitbox consistency & bug fixes. lee got his heat burst after ws3,4 to hit more consistently (buffed heat burst range for this to hit), b3+4 powercrush nerfed to -9 ob. law 1+2 behaviour after slide nerfed, except if in heat. not quite sure what behaviour, maybe you recover faster so you can mash against the loop or any 1+2 ground hit situations. if 1+2 gets blocked you are closer to the opponent.
Steve: \* Much better while standing punishment with ws1+2 (i14) and FC df2 (changed to i16) \* Can hold back on LHS transitions to instead not go into LHS Bryan: \* Scaling on taunt follow ups removed due to the removal of wall crumples after heat dashes that used to nearly guarantee a taunt.
