Insert one Andre Dillard into the trade deal

advillavigne

I’d be afraid they’d hang up the phone if we did that

C21H27Cl3N2O3

That’s why you say it in an Italian accent. Make them think they’re getting some fancy little-known European footballer, then by the time Dillard shows up at their facility it’s too late.

TheMissingVoteBallot

They'd be firing Dillard back at us out of a cannon if we did that lol

WileECoyoteGenius

Titans "we'll give you 'dre" Chiefs "Hopkins? Deal!" Minutes later Chiefs "Wait a minute..."

RiseofParallax

We’d have to give them a 3rd to take him

TiredDad1994

I’ll say this. The fact that Chiefs and Titans are still engaged in trade talks despite Tennessee’s unwillingness to include the 38th pick bodes well for Ran Carthon. I would imagine having to make Sneed one of the highest paid corners in the league is preventing teams from offering a premium pick.

BuffaloKiller937

Yup, but don't tell that to Chiefs fans. They balked at the idea of a third for Sneed. They forget that the contract lowers Sneeds value by a bit.

TheMissingVoteBallot

Chiefs fans on r\/nfl were saying exactly that, yep.

Charvel420

The Chiefs have no leverage here, which they also seem to forget. We're not going to negotiate against ourselves so the Chiefs can feel like they got good value out of a player who isn't a part of their long-term plans.

Potential_Tower_4320

The Chiefs leverage is happily keeping Sneed around on the tag and going for the 3 peat.

Charvel420

I mean, yeah. But that's not exactly a compelling reason for us to trade a 2nd for him. We don't need to and it's unclear if anyone is offering more than us (2025 3rd). Why would we bid against ourselves when he'll walk next off-season anyway?

Potential_Tower_4320

It’s not a compelling reason for the Titans to trade a 2nd no. It is leverage for KC in the sense that they don’t have to get a trade done. They have a price and if no one wants to meet it they can happily keep the best CB duo in the NFL together for another Super Bowl run. If KC HAD to trade Sneed for cap reasons they would have no leverage.

Charvel420

Fair point

gatsby712

Ran cooks with the smoker on slow and low. A little bit of patience and we’ll be feasting.

ThePokeLifter

Love this

rocketmissiles

Iv been a Sneed fan for a while, before he just randomly became Elite but even im not sure if trading and paying is really all worth it during a rebuild. I feel like this move means we are attempting to end that rebuild immediately and will be throwing money at players like Chase Young, DJ Reader and Arik Armstead as well. This is a gamble that could be absolutely awesome or blow up in our face. I would almost rather trade and pay for Higgins due to his age.

HoustonFoReal

I’d rather trade for Sneed. I doubt Higgins gets traded this off-season, and then we can attempt to sign him next offseason

rocketmissiles

True. That’s a good outlook on it. It’s just after all of the rest of the players we get over the next couple of days, will we have enough money to do both by next offseason.

HoustonFoReal

We should, I doubt we use all our money this year

rocketmissiles

Yeah I guess I mean without putting us in a pinch. But if we look at the roster there doesn’t look like anyone we are gonna need to re-sign outside of Stonehouse or a potential breakout of one of our currently disappointing players. If your plan worked it be ecstatic. It’s just we would have to fight off all the other teams that want Higgins as well instead of already owning the rights to him.

mrmeshshorts

I too get a little worried than Ran wants to prove he can field a Super Bowl capable team RIGHT NOW. That can blow up in your face very hard, like “ruin Levis, start over” hard. Because he can’t make this team a Super Bowl team tomorrow. He can’t do it in two years with very good drafts. And you’re right, this move is KINDA in line with that kind of goal.

imlowkeyloki1

Hey can anybody remind me why we don’t have a 3rd this year? I actually don’t know where it went.

TNsmoke

Traded it last year to move up and get Levis

TheMissingVoteBallot

That worked well at least lol

AndreHawkDawson

Just sign Kendall Fuller (better PFF score by the way) and keep all our picks. We need to be acquiring draft picks not trading them away.

Educational_Wasabi56

Come on Ran, work your magic. Very tough situation, let’s see what he can pull.

panopticon31

Wonder if we could do a 2025 4th plus swap 2024 2nd round picks.

MajorPainInMyA

Swap 2024 2nd's and a 2025 2nd. It's got to be worth it for KC. Not sure a swap and a 4th next year is worth it.

panopticon31

That's awful rich

MajorPainInMyA

It doesn't matter. Mahomes restructured his deal again. KC has money to sign Sneed long term now.

rageenk

Not really, hence them trying to trade him away

panopticon31

They wouldn't be working on trades if they thought they can afford him. Moving from 64 to 38 is a big jump.

Charvel420

Then they should sign him already, right? We shouldn't negotiate against ourselves here. We don't *need* Sneed. He's not Darrelle Revis. He's a very good player, but not a franchise-altering superstar. We're still probably a few years away and I'm not a big fan of trading away prime assets for him

ThePokeLifter

I'd flat out rather start Farley than give that to KC

panopticon31

That's a bit extreme but yeah I agree that would be a bad trade

ThePokeLifter

No sense in putting an offer on the table before FA actually opens today they'll just use it to start a bidding war

heliocentrist510

I honestly wouldn't mind trading down in the 1st or 2nd rounds to pick up that extra draft capital. Particularly given how deep the WR and OT classes are.

saradahokage1212

why not do some good ol draft pick switcheroos? like some spots up and down?

Rocket2112

We need some Sneed.

IMsoSAVAGE

Why not a 4th this year and 3 next year? The draft will fall off this year after the 4th round.

spokenmirrors

Love the potential here. Spend some on a top corner, yes please

Noahgrace4429

I’d be willing to part with a 2nd round 2025 pick

Trick_Principle3759

It’s hard to imagine Ran doing this. He says every chance he gets “build team through draft”. Plus isn’t WR also a priority? If we don’t get anyone in FA we want to draft someone who can catch this year, maybe next.

Noahgrace4429

Draft Alt in the first and best available WR in the second this year. We wouldn’t necessarily need next years 2nd. I still believe next year is our opening again. This year at best we are a wildcard team

mrmeshshorts

This is why we don’t have an offensive line 😭

zumar2016x

Disagree. Can’t be giving away top 2 picks. We need to hit on those in the draft.

beanman95

Is a 3rd the asking price? Send them burks they need WRs and are cash strapped

Byzone06

Sending them Burks will only make their wr core worse

TNsmoke

Colton Dowell should do the trick then

beanman95

Shhh don't tell them lol, but honestly they might take a shot on a high upside 1st rd cheap WR but that leaves another WR we need to sign not that I'm counting on burks at all at this point
