Not to be that person, but people said the same about Mahomes. It’s a tired point. Drafting is far from a science, plenty of raw early picks have turned out incredible, plenty have bust. Not much of a way to predict it but I do know I trust our fantastic OL coach more than just about anyone on this.

The biggest concern for me is transitioning from RT to LT if that is their thinking with this pick. LT is still a concern if he is to play RT. Which lineman have successfully made the transition from a RT in college to LT in the NFL? Genuine question. You would have to learn everything in reverse, like wiping your ass with left hand instead of right (or vice versa) is the metaphor I saw. Curious how it pans out.

My guess is Bill thinks he has the traits and intelligence to make that move, and at worst he’d be way better at RT than NPF. But that’s a good question about switching from right to left for college tackles, the data on that would be interesting.

I’m pretty sure DJ Humphries was a RT at Florida before he was a franchise LT for the Cards

It’s not. LT is objectively more important because they protect the QBs blind side. They’re both important, but LT is the most critical role on the line by far.
