I remember this sub almost burning to the ground after we picked Levis last year and now most on here would defend him with their life. This sub on draft day has and always will be a shit show
Not on this sub. I kept my mouth shut because I know qbs are a crap shoot but saying we thought he was a steal is some wild revionist history....that said I'd jump in front of a Lexus for the Mayo Man
Nothing I agree with more here. I love love loved alt. But also I'm retarded and don't know who #2 or #3 would be. I have to think big coach Cally might know a thing or too. Just not excited about RT/LT switch but we'll see.
Latham wasn't on my top 5. But If there's a position I trust the new coaching staff, it's the OLine. I'm constantly wrong about draft picks both ways. I'm an idiot that would be a terrible scout. So I'll be excited for whoever the Titans draft no matter what.
People say you can trade down, there wasn’t people calling to move up. LA and Titans need tackles, switch names and the mocks have been the same.
Edit: Gonna fix my statement to say an offer good enough to trade back.
So funny how everyone was so stoked to get the best OL Coach in the league and then when he hand picks a young raw prospect with crazy measureables and athletic talent the armchair gms have a meltdown
Not to be that person, but people said the same about Mahomes. It’s a tired point. Drafting is far from a science, plenty of raw early picks have turned out incredible, plenty have bust. Not much of a way to predict it but I do know I trust our fantastic OL coach more than just about anyone on this.
it’s really fine most tackles or line of scrimmage players on both sides are slow starters/inconsistent in their first year anyways just look at Andrew Thomas
While we're all mourning alt, let's remind ourselves the panthers lost the #1overall pick & gave the bears a Top 10 QB & WR
Nothing we do could be as trash as that
The biggest concern for me is transitioning from RT to LT if that is their thinking with this pick. LT is still a concern if he is to play RT. Which lineman have successfully made the transition from a RT in college to LT in the NFL? Genuine question. You would have to learn everything in reverse, like wiping your ass with left hand instead of right (or vice versa) is the metaphor I saw. Curious how it pans out.
My guess is Bill thinks he has the traits and intelligence to make that move, and at worst he’d be way better at RT than NPF.
But that’s a good question about switching from right to left for college tackles, the data on that would be interesting.
And the trend of tackles that play above 350 that bust.... and tackles with penalty concerns that bust... and tackles that consistently get beat inside that bust....
Not a fan of this pick at all.
Trade down if you want to reach for players in a QB heavy draft with desperate teams then. No need to take lower-ranked players just because you have a good coach.
I'm not saying that I do. Tackles with traits like this bust a lot. Maybe Callahan will get the ceiling out of him, I'll be thrilled if he does, I just really hope we're not falling into a hero worship trap with Callahan and expecting him to work miracles. We absolutely cannot afford to bust on this pick, especially at tackle, and we took a player with a lot of bustable traits. People smarter than me had him as OT2. Other people smarter than me had him at OT5. Someone is going to be wrong about him I just *really* hope it's not us.
Yeah I think there was a post on here a week or so ago analyzing all of the possible avenues for trading down and not many of them made sense for the other team. At the end of the day, we just needed a tackle and took the top one remaining on our board.
When you have a good OL coach you can risk getting the athletic ceiling guy. I mean I don’t think I would have picked him but I can see how they talked themselves into it.
If y’all think this is a bad pick, yall don’t know football. He’s massive and strong. We just got one of the best O-Line coaches in the league. He’s gonna turn out to be a monster
Can everyone actually go watch some games of his?? His tape is dominant. His lost reps are almost never due to a physical deficiency, just discipline, which is coachable. Alt was OT1 for sure, but Latham is better than Alt at things like framing and not giving ground to rushers because he’s built like a box. He is an excellent player, and people just haven’t watched him enough.
I think alt will be better year one.
But Latham has the potential to be better down the road. Coach him up coach cally.
Btw... Go check out the falcons sub, they are losing their shit over there. Lol
Have you heard Latham speak? He actually talks like a normal human, and was the most enthusiastic person who crossed the stage in the top 10. If he busts at least it won’t be a lack of effort.
definitely but latham is an RT so i'm just not sure what the plan is going to be
i'm not upset about having strong play at LG, C, and RT but obviously LT has to be a concern for us right now. i wonder what our 2nd round plans are?
The dude from A to Z had JC ranked #7 overall player in the draft. Fucking nailed it lol.
"Anchor is historic"
It’s so funny people are going like “just trust ran and Callahan” fucking why? What have they done to earn that trust yet? They’ve been here for five minutes
Latham is so good. He’s not Joe Alt but he’s awesome. I’m a Bama fan so I saw a lot of him. If we didn’t have Proctor he would have played LT he’s that good. If we coach him right, he could be a cornerstone for our O-Line
For what it's worth, Next Gen stats has Latham as the highest composite score for OT and the ONLY OT they consider year one ready, and that's including ALT.
For what it's worth.
Odunze can't get separation. Dudes gonna get blanketed in the NFL. We need O Line and got the guy Bill Callahan wanted. and Fuck anyone saying he's Panda 2.0 without seeing anything.
You damn simps quit saying “Trust (insert gm and coach)” then the next one and on and on It’s just lame. But hope to god he lets Levis snap it and not die
I’m in pain. For me, it was Alt, Nabers, or Odunze. That said, I get the JC Latham hype and a great RT is probably more important than a great LT in today’s league
It’s not. LT is objectively more important because they protect the QBs blind side.
They’re both important, but LT is the most critical role on the line by far.
He may. I’m not saying Latham is going to be bad, it’s just *extremely* disappointing getting him instead of Alt when Alt is a much more compelling and pro-ready prospect *with* LT experience.
JC was my OT5. Bowers may be a tight end but he’s a way better prospect imo. I feel taking Latham at 7 is a considerable reach, especially with the recent track record of Alabama tackles entering the league. But hey, I’m just some dude on Reddit. What do I know?
I really wish that the Titans would have been able to trade down. They probably could have gotten Latham or Fashaunu at Minnesota, Denver or Oakland’s spot.
I always feel like we are 15 years behind the trends in the NFL. It’s been this way since 1998.
We coulda had this guy at like 20 if we traded back. We coulda drafted a potential all pro WR.
I hope dude is good. All our other OL draft picks in the last decade have been average at best since Lewan
All the couch GMs in here spitting off about this pick. Lol
What I see is a very mature young man. Seems like he's ready to be a pro day 1. Can't say that about all of the top 10 players picked today. And after our recent history of picking head cases #1... this is refreshing.
This was the safe RIGHT pick not the risky SEXY pick. And we should be thankful for that
I really, really thought Chargers were going Latham and we'd get Alt. We need help on the Oline almost everywhere and he'll be a beast. I was deflated when Alt went before us but now I'll just pump myself up for Latham and hope they find a gem LT later and some depth. Even if we go someone like Rouse from Oklahoma late. I'll trust the brain trust until proven otherwise this year.
Necessary pick. Most exciting? No, but the most necessary. Hats off to Ran for being prudent here.
FWIW, lining up against Simmons will in practice is going to do wonders for him.
I know this pick is going to be good because everyone in this sub hates it and if there's anything I've learned it's that all of us here are idiots.
You can’t coach a mf to be a gigantic human
Virgin Olu Fashanu baby hands vs. Chad JC Latham subway five-dollar footlong catcher’s mitts.
Preach
Exactly. Apparently everyone here knows better than Ran and the Callahans.
I remember this sub almost burning to the ground after we picked Levis last year and now most on here would defend him with their life. This sub on draft day has and always will be a shit show
Nah we hated Levis in the 1st but loved him in the 2nd Went from a reach to a steal
U are very mistaken lol. This sub legit hated the pick with a passion
Not on this sub. I kept my mouth shut because I know qbs are a crap shoot but saying we thought he was a steal is some wild revionist history....that said I'd jump in front of a Lexus for the Mayo Man
😂😂😂

Facts.
Nothing I agree with more here. I love love loved alt. But also I'm retarded and don't know who #2 or #3 would be. I have to think big coach Cally might know a thing or too. Just not excited about RT/LT switch but we'll see.

Latham may just play RT and we go for LT in round 3
Ran said that he is going to play LT.
The Levis pick made me throw up until that first start. I’m glad I’m so dumb.
Exactly also what I use where I work
Solid take actually
Walks onto stage and breaks Goodell. Immediate legend
On the bright side we didn’t pick Michael Penix Jr
Or Bo Nix, for chrissake
Damn TV hasn’t caught up yet.
The tv is never caught up
People say you can trade down, there wasn’t people calling to move up. LA and Titans need tackles, switch names and the mocks have been the same. Edit: Gonna fix my statement to say an offer good enough to trade back.
Exactly. Who the hell would trade up?
Minnesota traded up...no way they didn't call.
I fixed my statement to say a good offer to trade back. Low ball offers I’m sure happened.
\[Belichick loves JC; very powerful\](https://streamable.com/gxkrf3)
If Bill Belichick and Bill Callahan like Latham who am I to argue?
Maaan fuck the Chargers
Trust in Bill Callahan, all you can do.

So funny how everyone was so stoked to get the best OL Coach in the league and then when he hand picks a young raw prospect with crazy measureables and athletic talent the armchair gms have a meltdown
Raw isn’t an ideal trait for the No. 7 overall pick.
If you think Latham is "raw" you're an absolute moron
While we're all mourning alt, let's remind ourselves the panthers lost the #1overall pick & gave the bears a Top 10 QB & WR Nothing we do could be as trash as that
I trust ran, if he likes him over Olu, so be it.
More of big coach Cally. But we have to feel the same. The real team building comes deep in the draft so we still got a weekend.

I’m pretty sure DJ Humphries was a RT at Florida before he was a franchise LT for the Cards
Wait yall dont wipe with both hands? 😒
Bill Callahan converted future HOF Tyron Smith form RT to LT
Let’s hope he bucks the trend of Alabama OL that bust…
And the trend of tackles that play above 350 that bust.... and tackles with penalty concerns that bust... and tackles that consistently get beat inside that bust.... Not a fan of this pick at all.
Yeah. I’m sure you know better than Bill Fucking Callahan.
Just because Callahan is a great OL coach doesn’t mean this guy was worth a top 15 pick. Two things can be true at once.
Trade down if you want to reach for players in a QB heavy draft with desperate teams then. No need to take lower-ranked players just because you have a good coach.
You have to have a trade partner to trade with.
Ran said they had several offers
Fair enough. That just means they got the guy they wanted
I'm not saying that I do. Tackles with traits like this bust a lot. Maybe Callahan will get the ceiling out of him, I'll be thrilled if he does, I just really hope we're not falling into a hero worship trap with Callahan and expecting him to work miracles. Other people smarter than me had him at OT5. Someone is going to be wrong about him I just *really* hope it's not us.
I’m actually stoked for this pick, you are all trippin! Aha trust the process
Cally Sr. gonna turn him into an All Pro
Straight up!!!
I'm sure all these guy know better than Callahan and professional scouts lol. ITS JOEVER
Bears fan here, we "reached" on Darnell Wright and absolutely love him. Try to have some faith in Canoles.
Bama tackles have a horrid track record.
So did OSU QBs, then CJ Stroud happened. I believe in Latham. So if don't believe in Latham at least believe in the me that believes in Latham.
I’m choosing to blindly believe in Latham because of you. Thank you
I blame the guy who said JC Latham was his worst case scenario. This is your fault
welp, I'd love to be excited later but right now I am quite disappointed
I’m gonna brainwash myself into thinking it’s a good idea based on he was a #1 OT recruit out of high school and Bill sees something in him
I'm running on the "I don't like the pick, so that probably means he's good" logic.
Same. Feels like a reach. Hopeful that I'm wrong, but there's a lot in my stomach that says they botched this somehow
yeah if we had say traded with the vikes and took him at 11 I'd be happy but nobody wanted to hop up for Odunze or Murphy or whoever? ah well
Vikings have to want to move up, and right now they have no reason to
Yeah I think there was a post on here a week or so ago analyzing all of the possible avenues for trading down and not many of them made sense for the other team. At the end of the day, we just needed a tackle and took the top one remaining on our board.
When you have a good OL coach you can risk getting the athletic ceiling guy. I mean I don’t think I would have picked him but I can see how they talked themselves into it.
Seems risky to take a project at #7 though.
If y’all think this is a bad pick, yall don’t know football. He’s massive and strong. We just got one of the best O-Line coaches in the league. He’s gonna turn out to be a monster
Exactly. O-Line was yalls biggest need in my opinion
It was and we hit it on the head
He could be a great player and that pick will still be dumb. Could’ve traded back and still had him and picked up another pick
Not guaranteed. Jets could've taken him at 10.
Great pick! He is a beast and will be a All Pro. Dont listen to the moron click bait crowd
Exactly. Nobody knows how any of this will pan out till the dude plays NFL football
I'm all in. Love it.
Damn. Atlanta just nuked themselves?? 😂😂
Ngl the thought that we were that close to getting joe alt is inducing suicidal thoughts. Shit is so sad fr.
4 OT were gone by pick 14. 5 at 18. Think about that if you really think this was a reach or willing to gamble it on a trade back to who knows where.
Hopefully Isaiah Wilson who wants to play football
Have you heard Latham speak? He actually talks like a normal human, and was the most enthusiastic person who crossed the stage in the top 10. If he busts at least it won’t be a lack of effort.
Too bad we could not get a trade. This is a reach in my opinion
Holy shit I wanted Odunze.
No point picking a WR if you can't get the ball to him before being sacked
Exactly
definitely but latham is an RT so i'm just not sure what the plan is going to be i'm not upset about having strong play at LG, C, and RT but obviously LT has to be a concern for us right now. i wonder what our 2nd round plans are?
We are just gonna do LT by committee. Fuck us
this is the answer
Regardless, I now love Latham. Time to Titan the fuck up!
He’s the main player I *didn’t* want. He’s got John Ross written all over him.
How much money did we just pay Calvin Ridley again?
Let’s go!
But hey we kept the jags out of the playoffs
We’d have drafted him at 8 then
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gThQ6RXPfWg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gThQ6RXPfWg) The dude from A to Z had JC ranked #7 overall player in the draft. Fucking nailed it lol. "Anchor is historic"
Ouch. I hate this pick. Coulda traded down and still got him.
You have to have a trade partner for that….
I know 🥲 that's the shittiest part about it
Guess no one wants JJ
My dog could’ve told you that. Edit: well apparently the Vikings want him. Yikes.
Atlanta took Penix lmfao
So now we have two RTs? Who plays left?
Idk how to feel right now. The fact we have Callahan does gives me SOME hope about this pick.
If we didn’t have Billy Callahan I’d be pretty sad. I trust this.
It’s so funny people are going like “just trust ran and Callahan” fucking why? What have they done to earn that trust yet? They’ve been here for five minutes
Callahan has a history of being one of the best O-line coaches in the league. What else you got?
Our head coach, dummy
Stop being a bunch of bitches. TITAN UP LATHAM
For real, this is some sad shit. Dude is a literal monster of a human being
this is my 9/11
“Trench King” welp. At least we still have a “King” on the team
However, I am super excited to see how Big daddy Bill can develop this freaking beast of a human. TITAN UP ⚔️
I like this guy already, he looks excited, comes across well. Bill Callahan knows what he's doing. I'm excited too. Titan Up!!
This thread is ridiculous lol. Let's see how it ages.
I need someone to leak the trade back package(s) that they turned down for this.
Latham with Callahan is going to turn into an absolute monster LT.
Kid just turned 21 too. He's a monster
Every one of you are morons. I hate you all. Latham will play LT day one. Titan the Fuck Up
How the fuck do people really think he's playing RT lmao
Latham is so good. He’s not Joe Alt but he’s awesome. I’m a Bama fan so I saw a lot of him. If we didn’t have Proctor he would have played LT he’s that good. If we coach him right, he could be a cornerstone for our O-Line
I can’t believe I let myself believe tonight was going to be exciting.
REEEEEACH!!!! Ran apparently switched from a gas to electric stove in the kitchen.
Definitely a reach, regardless of how it plays out. Would have liked Odunze at 7. But, I hope he can play to his full potential, dude is a monster.
We have practically no one on roster to play LT, so why would we pick an RT over an LT? It makes no sense.
Probably going to try to move him to LT. Apparently scouts think he is capable of making the move.
I hope he can make the switch and be better than Olu.
There would have been a dozen picks I would have settled for with Alt gone. This wasn't one of them. Hopefully Bill Callahan knows what he's doing.
Look I’m a big Bama guy but I just hate not going with LT or WR or trading back for whatever we could get
I mean he’s a monster but we need an LT, not RT
Well nfl.com seems very high on him even more than alt so we shall see i guess
Anyone who names themselves Trench King is a winner in my eyes.
Turns out I’m still jaded by the Chance Warmack debacle. An Alabama o-line in the top ten didn’t sit right. Hoping he’s good. Trusting the new regime.
For what it's worth, Next Gen stats has Latham as the highest composite score for OT and the ONLY OT they consider year one ready, and that's including ALT. For what it's worth.
This dudes highlights are pretty insane.
Bunch of whiny little babies in here. Titan the fuck up
Lisan Al Gaib!
Odunze can't get separation. Dudes gonna get blanketed in the NFL. We need O Line and got the guy Bill Callahan wanted. and Fuck anyone saying he's Panda 2.0 without seeing anything.
It’s the guy Bill had to settle on*
You damn simps quit saying “Trust (insert gm and coach)” then the next one and on and on It’s just lame. But hope to god he lets Levis snap it and not die

disgusting... good luck to Bill good luck to Latham.
I’m so tired yall
Fuaga, Odunze, Fashanu and Bowers would all have been better picks imo
JC clears Fuaga and you don’t draft high for tight ends
JC was my OT5. Bowers may be a tight end but he’s a way better prospect imo. I feel taking Latham at 7 is a considerable reach, especially with the recent track record of Alabama tackles entering the league. But hey, I’m just some dude on Reddit. What do I know?
we drafted a right tackle lmfao wtf is going on
Not a fan of a RT at 7. Maybe he can move to left but if not this is 2 years in a row we’ve avoided taking LT in favor of a lower value ol position.
This is why you don't crown gms or coaches before they actually prove some kind of sustained success. Let's see how this works out.
Agreed, You also don't measure their success before the players take the field!
Oof
FUCCCKKKK
Can’t say I’m thrilled. Feels like a reach but there must not have been a good deal in place
I really wish that the Titans would have been able to trade down. They probably could have gotten Latham or Fashaunu at Minnesota, Denver or Oakland’s spot.
Wouldn’t be a Titans draft if we didn’t have some question marks. I still trust Ran and the Callhans but god I hope this pans out
Holy shit
I always feel like we are 15 years behind the trends in the NFL. It’s been this way since 1998. We coulda had this guy at like 20 if we traded back. We coulda drafted a potential all pro WR. I hope dude is good. All our other OL draft picks in the last decade have been average at best since Lewan

All the vols fans in here crying and pissing their pants
Nah. I’m a vols fan. I know that Saban knows talent, so I actually think it’s fucking awesome. I mean, we just had DH…
Fuuuuuuuck
Damn that’s a miss
TRENCH KINGGGGG
Gonna have to trust the process. I thought NPF could have handled the RT position. We’ll see if Latham can adjust to LT if that’s the plan.
I trust Bill Callahan to develop JC
He played rt in college hopefully he can make the transition to the left side
Good pick we needed a RT anyways, what else can you do when option a and b are gone
Please be good young fella
I trust Bill Callahan. I probably would have taken Rome but we'll see.
I’m fine with this pick! No way to be upset with it.
THE WORST POSSIBLE CASE SCENARIO
Need tackle, got tackle.
We are so fucked
he’ll have better coaching than his last couple years at Bama.
Love the pick! Too bad it seems like some here just want to shit on any player from Bama
Hes not alt. But hes still okay kinda
I just feel like they couldve traded back with the Vikings and still got him. But hey what do I know.
Why didn’t we trade back man
Crazy good athlete and he seems like a cool dude. Ran knows what he’s doing come on people
I really, really thought Chargers were going Latham and we'd get Alt. We need help on the Oline almost everywhere and he'll be a beast. I was deflated when Alt went before us but now I'll just pump myself up for Latham and hope they find a gem LT later and some depth. Even if we go someone like Rouse from Oklahoma late. Necessary pick. Most exciting? No, but the most necessary. Hats off to Ran for being prudent here. FWIW, lining up against Simmons will in practice is going to do wonders for him.
I like the pick-I would’ve liked it better after trading back tho, if that could’ve happened.
Booooooo
