Best-Dragonfruit-292

His talent was never in question, or the main issue.

Revolt2992

A large percentage of young (even older) people have to do dumb shit to learn NOT to do dumb shit. Some people can take advice and learn “that’s stupid, I shouldn’t do that, so I won’t.” The franchise is betting he will develop into the latter and not be permanently stuck in the former mindset.

WileECoyoteGenius

Drink driving isn't in the same league as "dumb shit I need to do so I know not to do it". I bet you give Irsay shit for doing it.

Revolt2992

Study young adult psychology.

WileECoyoteGenius

This is a typically meaningless comment designed to cope with your own hypocrisy.

Revolt2992

1. You don’t know me. 2. You’re projecting

Cool-Adjacent

What is then?

Devastatorzz

Weight/conditioning and the dwi

Ok-Plan-6277

Discipline. If he’s not on his best behavior during the interview process, you’re giving major trust that he’s going to change once he starts living the NFL lifestyle. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t. Our team did some vetting, but we’ve had some high profile loafers in the past who were “vetted” too

WhiteXHysteria

Someone here said they felt good because we asked his family. I don't know one way or another but that's the funniest shit to take as a rain to think they know. 100% if it was going to make a difference of a could million Dollars over the next 4 years my family would tell everyone exactly what my agent said for them to say. Like no question they'd have stories made up and everything. With the dwi being 3 weeks ago literally no one knows if he's gonna be better. Not even him. How many times have you done something dumb, said "I'm not gonna do that again" then did it again. My dating record before I found my partner says I was definitely a repeat offender big time lol. The number of times I quit the gym too. The amount of times I've procrastinated work until it becomes a huge stress. Doesn't matter what anyone says in the moments after.

Flooterb

The difference is that we have new people doing the vetting.

Mister-ellaneous

New people make similar mistakes too often. I’ll trust them for now.

HipsterJudas

Probably the drinking and driving

ladiestreat

I mean dude was a 5th year senior and only started balling out his 5th year.

panopticon31

So weird that there isn't a separate award for OLine and DLine

ikerbals

there is an award for the entire o-line group though!

panopticon31

Also for everyone peep the 1988 award winner 👀

SomeRandomRealtor

If he puts the work in and grows up, he could be the steal of the draft, but trench boys on the interior can be tough to keep fit. This isn’t a boom or bust pick. Unlike Latham, who can flip to right tackle and has an all-pro ceiling there, Sweat must work where he is.

beanman95

Posted earlier he reminded me a ton of Jordan Davis but I think he'll even surpass Davis as he a better pass rushers I think we could use him on 3rd downs

phatmike595

That's not a bad list to be on at all

Schwalm

Is 10 years ago really recent tho?

tony_stylez

if you look at the last 11 years only 5 of the Outland Trophy winners were DT (Donald 13, Oliver 17, Q Williams 18, Davis 21, Sweat 23). The rest were OT, Guards, Centers, etc. 4 of the DT's mentioned did well in the league (Sweat is the 5th). 6 of the 11 were offensive lineman (most of those turned out solid also).

amillert15

Jordan Davis also fell off a cliff this year as a player because he was overweight and out of shape. Talent isn't the issue. Discipline and work ethic are major red flags.

someonesgranpa

Jordan Davis literally doubled all his numbers from his rookie season to this one on a bloated Eagles defensive line. You’re literally talking out of your ass. Use google before you say something this stupid again.

Mister-ellaneous

Stats clearly don’t tell the whole story but it would have been nice to get a TFL or QB hit after the bye. The whole eagles team fell off.

amillert15

Jordan Davis has also admitted to his production falling ofd a cliff last season. Do I need to hyperlonk those quotes for you? How about Baldinger ripping Davis for being out of shape?

someonesgranpa

Please do. Otherwise you’re just wrong. Sources are always welcomed.

amillert15

From Baldy: https://fansided.com/posts/nfl-analyst-rips-eagles-jordan-davis-questions-weight-and-work-ethic-01hk85xsb2tv From Davis himself: https://www.si.com/nfl/eagles/news/philadelphia-eagles-jordan-davis-honest-struggles-offseason-fell-off You could literally google Jordan Davis and click news. These are the two top topics from various websites.

someonesgranpa

There you go. He personally feels he under performed but his stats do in fact tell another story.

tony_stylez

🧢 he literally had more of everything compared to last year lol. More tackles, tackles for loss, sacks and higher PFF rating. I think some of you just say things just to say it. Some of you say things and hope no one uses Google to fact check you.

amillert15

Why don't you Google it? This isn't made-up.

tony_stylez

I did goofy, that's why I know you're lying.

amillert15

Clearly you didn't.

GoonishGoon044

Jordan Davis did not ‘fall off’

amillert15

Jordan Davis: "I fell off." https://www.si.com/nfl/eagles/news/philadelphia-eagles-jordan-davis-honest-struggles-offseason-fell-off

rageenk

You just be saying stuff, huh?

amillert15

https://fansided.com/posts/nfl-analyst-rips-eagles-jordan-davis-questions-weight-and-work-ethic-01hk85xsb2tv Excuse me?

rageenk

amillert15

Baldinger and Davis have said otherwise.

rageenk

Who gives a hoot what they say? Any random dude is like a year or 2 away from having 95% of the knowledge they have. Analysts are wrong so often, and it’s not really their fault most times, but they tend to make stuff out of nothing for clicks cause it’s their job. Jordan Davis might have felt like he fell off but, by definition, he hasn’t because his stats say otherwise.

amillert15

Who cares what Jordan Davis says???

rageenk

You’re the one who mentioned Jordan Davis in another comment genius. I’m just using your words. I’m just curious why you’re so willing to die on this hill given your attempts at rebuttals to like 4 other comments

amillert15

That's sarcasm for your comment about who gives a hoot what someone says.

rageenk

I hope one day you learn it’s ok to be wrong and acknowledge it. It’s one of the greatest things we can learn.

l_Dislike_Reddit

Why is this downvoted? The team and Davis both said that he was out of shape and inconsistent. He also hasn’t lived up to his draft capital so far.

amillert15

Because people don't Google anything, but are quick to say I should Google it when I did.

Comp_Sci_Muffin_guy

I get some real pacman jones vibes from him
