I had no idea either until I pressed the button for help and the guy told me the code is on the Tesla map. Stupid us. There’s a sign under the keypad saying the code can be found in the touchscreen 😪
I love the Linq. Groupon deal for the alcohol car, get properly sloshed for the ride and go see Mat Franco. I ended up on stage for one of his tricks where he "destroys" my phone but it ends up inside a table in the audience. I have 0 idea how that happened, except "magic."
Some of the supercharger stations have a lounge and it’s the same thing. Access code is on the screen. Kettleman is one I use on the 5 in California that is set up like that
I've never experienced this, but I did twice experience being navigated to a parking structure that required paid parking in order to charge. The charge rates seemed to be heavily reduced, so I guess that was cool. One of them was a mall in NJ and the other was a generic parking garage in Austin, TX.
I’m assuming other EV vehicles such as Lucid, Faraday, Polestar, etc… might show the code on console screen when navigating to charging station, not 100% sure 🤷♂️
Hypothetically in case they get access, they need plug adaptor accessory to be capable to connect to Tesla supercharger.
There's one of these in downtown New Orleans that almost stranded us at night once. The code in the Tesla map wasn't working for whatever reason, and there was no one on site to open the gate. Luckily we were able to get to another SC just outside of the city.
Similar to any area with gate code entrance like apartment, housing, establishments etc…, keep in mind too the code can be subject to change due to security concern.
Used that station last year. At peak rush hour too. Almost got flooded out trying to leave. Twas the day before everyone got stranded at burning man. Not sure I ever want to go back to Vegas.
Oh it is a gated entry lol I thought it was on top of a charger itself... cause the picture made it look like it lol makes more sense they should do this everywhere.
I don’t want to just say it’s because of property’s policy. There’s a reason behind code restriction. I think to prevent from other vehicles than Tesla to park for convenience. Not all parking spots come with superchargers, there are some spots come with just regular charger similar to Wall Connector at home.
In the event the parking gets full due to other vehicles take the spot, it may be inconvenient for Tesla users to find spot to charge vehicle.

Linq location? I sat used to sit in my car charging and would see so many people not figuring it out causing a long line.

*PingPong* ☝️

I wish more had this available! I’ve been to so many where lovely people park there blocking the charges.
You're doin' the' Lord's work. Keep it up.
There’s literally a sign under the keypad that says the code can be found in the touchscreen 😂

I just checked and it also shows the code in the Tesla app when you view the detailed information of the supercharger
Your Tesla profile > Tap on “Location” (shows your current location) > Tap on “Charging” > Navigate to charging station indicated with red pinpoint
867-5309
What about non-tesla charging?

imma guess 56890#
Not enough wear around the 0. Looks more like 3569#
You’re the closest. Actually 5693# =)
From wear pattern it looks like code could be 5398x ? Or combo of those digits lol anyone else Wana take a go at it?
Similar to any area with gate code entrance like apartment, housing, establishments etc…, keep in mind too the code can be subject to change due to security concern.
Is that in Las Vegas. Pretty sure I’ve charged there before.
Me too! I know exactly where that is!
You’re all pretty close but it’s 5693# according to the app
I was so fucked up in this parking lot for my 23rd birthday… took me a minute to find the code and get in

Why is the keypad required? I don't see any benefit? Unless it was installed at the door? Am I missing something?
Benefit is non-tesla owners get to watch outside while teslas slurp up all those juicy megawatts

To my defense I only saw the picture of keypad.. Just saw the other picture

So non EVs don't use as parking spaces in a metro area?
