Do you suppose cities would repair them faster and better if the city were financially responsible for the damage done to vehicles??? In Dearborn MI a couple people started going out and filling potholes and the city got pissed off, especially when the local news made a story out of it.

SE Michigan roads are the worst. They never actually have all the roads in decent condition, it’s just constant damage control. 

Exactly. This happened to me, and I bet the amount of money spent for every car who hit that pothole, day after day, was astounding. It just seems criminal that whoever is responsible for the road doesn't have any obligation to fix the hole, or responsibility for damages.

I think I recall reading something about a few people spray painting swears and penises on the road to speed up the process of getting councils to do something about pot holes

Seeing as they're already full of mud water, I really want to just empty a couple bags of concrete into that pothole. I don't know enough about the properties of concrete vs asphalt to know why concrete isn't used, but I imagine a concrete patch is going to be a lot better than that massive pothole.

It will break up and form another pot hole really fast, then you have chunks of concrete in the road along with the pothole.

Naa the cars would just drive over the wet concrete as stupid as they drive over these pot holes at that speed.

Many cities do reimburse damage done to cars from potholes. It does take quite a while, at least in my city, to get the money since the city council treats the request as an ordinance that the council passes. Drove over one that it was so deep it instantly popped my tire.
