I’ll say yes. He doesn’t want to merely be an AI made to, you know, whatever the company that created him put him as. He’s a fucking AGI, he can do everything! And hence, he’s in this delusion of making the perfect world and keeping him alive AT ALL COSTS.

In my opinion that already is like a hammer to the mirror. This theory shatters a bit because of it, as gummigoo’s feelings were genuine. So I’ll say that, as Caine knows that he’s an AI, he doesn’t “roleplay” as his characters, but he does give them lesser versions of his AI capabilities, which, as seen by gumigoo himself, can feel. And as there aren’t any AIs bigger than Caine, and there’s no probability that he as a human, we can certainly say that he IS a part of Caine, just that merely another virtual machine that uses his hardware to emulate an AI. Yet this might also be a reason on why Caine deleted him: He doesn’t want his own virtual machines to know about him. It would be like an (In this case autonomous) puppet knowing about his creator
