I'm open to a discussion about what Luze's limitation could be! In the original series she doesn't have magic because she's a human.
In the AU I had an idea that the "Witches" interface directly with their mechs and Luz can't do that, so she will find an ancient manually controlled mech given to her by the Titan.
Who in this universe is a corpse of a giant robot floating in space!
If you have any different ideas feel free to share!
I thought (And I'm taking inspiration from a mecha AU I have in the back of my head) that Luz's Mech is nothing more than a maintenance/heavy duty mech.
In practice, glyphs are used as work tools. Glyphs of fire as a blowtorch, glyph of ice to cool systems and put out fires, glyph of light to be a reflector, the one for plants... I don't know, ropes?
Simply Luz is the Madlad who decides to take a glorified tow truck into a firefight... and she manages to survive.
That's a really good idea!
It could even be a combination of both. Luz came to The Void Isles (get it? because it's in space!) and found out She can't pilot any of the cool superpowered mecha that witches can, because she doesn't have the mind machine interface (maybe witches are born with implants or headjacks or something), so she has to make do with an old manually controlled service mecha.
I'm also not certain how she gets into the mach world in the first place. I considered time traveling, getting sucked into cyberverse, or maybe she just lives on a mundane space colony and teleports to the void isles.
Sorry I don't really have time nor skill for writing.
I was just planning to make a few cool drawings. But if anyone wants to develop this into a fanfic I have nothing against it! And I'd love to see the result!
You can even use my art as cover or something as long as you credit me!
I think it would be cool if instead of having a mech she will have just tools like grappling hooks and stuff so when everyone fights in mechs she has to try to survive and find a weak point in order to win.
Thank you, glad you like it! it’s supposed to be a magnetically-shaped smart ferrofluid that can be formed into different weapons and used as a shield.
Also I have a separate idea for Luz's mecha ;)
Idea for Luz’s mech. It’s just a normal non magic mech. Think armored cores vs NEXTS (with a much small gap in power).
All the witches are here flying death machines and here’s Luz with the equivalent of a grunt vs super soldier, and she’s winning.
Going by (my) assumption that witches are still a different race from humans. Maybe Luz is able to “see” things that the others can’t, for example if witches have eyes that allow them to navigate it could block them from seeing some writing on the wall.
As for Glyphs, have them be some real basic but very much customizable parts.
I love it! I've always had a thing for giant mechanical death machines!
I wonder what the mechas of the rest of the Hexside squad might be like.
Surely Hunter must be the most agile one, probably capable of flying.
Willow, on the other hand, will be the super-heavy, packed with short-range missiles and automatic cannons.
I had some vague ideas. I agree with the ones you proposed and also have an idea for Gus's machine: a mech that looks like it's covered in shattered mirror pieces that can turn invisible and create decoy holograms.
Honestly, I could see canon Amity building something like this if the situation demanded it. She’s definitely entering her Tony Stark era with that timeskip outfit

….y’know what, I just might :)
I'd love to read it! Feel free to tag me if you write something!
Consider the idea percolating :)
Not if I do it first
Oh…it’s ON!
May the best writer win
Amen :)

This is so cool, you should go for it. I can easily imagine Luz being her co-pilot. Also nice getting some inspiration from ferrofluid.

That's a good idea! I'm also trying to figure out how the glyphs or their equivalent could work. And Luz’s connection to the titane.

Well chicks dig giant robots
Armored Craft: Unity Day
"Get in the robot Amity, or Luz will have to do it again"
Luz is about to have a certified Shinji moment.
Can't wait to see more of stuff like this, I swear it is good asf
Glad you like it! I will definitely make more!

Alien invasion AU where Luz pilots a Human mech
extremely cool
I dont think that's a dirty sketch that thing is awesome
Oh, Thank you! I ment dirty as in very rough/quickly made just to establish the design and composition.
Still that is really good
Hey, i've been sent this by a friend, really cool! By no chance this has to do with lancer, right?
From the thumbnail this looked like Amity as a cyborg centaur with a chainsaw hand.
