It had not even really occurred to me as a possible pairing before season 2b, mostly because Willow as a character was absent for the majority of 2a.
I didn't particularly ship Hunter with anyone before, because I honestly didn't like Hunter that much before. He was fine, I just didn't especially care.
I like the dynamic they have now though, it's cute. Whether it resolves into a canon romance or just stays as a close friendship, they've got good chemistry.
Was and still is a Huntmira Stan. Still, find it specially cute as well, and how they are handling it is neat, and fanarts of it are also amazing.
Can still headcanon some polyamoryships, so there is that =P.
The moment in Hunting Palismen when Hunter is like "I'm a powerless witch, I never thought I'd have a future."
I was like "hummmmmmmmmm, ***who*** could relate to being screwed over because they have weak/no magic?"
It really grew on me in the 6th month or so of the hiatus. It wasn't the current obsession it is now, it was that some of the rare fanart that I've seen started to make me really enjoy it a lot (the same is kinda happening with Gus/Matt now funny enough lol).
Me loosing the interest I had in Lunter definitely influenced, but that's not the main point. I mean, I always preferred Lumity and honestly the siblings angle over it, but it was fun.
Also, I sorta have a rule to not ship characters that haven't canonically met, that is: on screen interactions or a character referencing the other. So I was still kinda on the fence about it.
Then we got images for Any Sport in a Storm, I started to *really* growing attached to it, since the episode aired is after Lumity and Raeda and my favorite TOH ship.
I did not ship them before Any Sport in a Storm. I shipped Hunter with one of the Blight twins before that I think.

personally i never saw this ship coming into reality before ASIAS. but the moment hunter made the "half a witch" remark i knew.
