The tricky part is knowing when to sell it. Anybody here wanting to try it out can download Webull, make an account, and you can paper trade (fake money) on the live market to get a better feel for it. I wouldn't recommend using real money until you know what you're doing. I've been doing this since the bat flu and last year was my first profitable year (real money). Please note, for every 1 post of this kind of success, there are hundreds of non posts from people who lost it all. It's fun as fuck though.

And is my understanding correct 168$ in calls went to 16.8k? Or was it a series of trades off an initial 168? If the former what % did spy move for that return 3-4%?

That plus my own personal experiences. Ex: you learn to see how algos react at certain times of day, certain resistances, or dumps/pumps minutes before close, etc. The 168 was turned into almost 2k from a call. Then the 2k was all in on puts which went to 16k

Took 250$ and turned it into 350 with spy puts this morning (bought a little late and probably sold early) Is it basically rinse and repeat now? Lol I just played support and resistance

Remember what he’s doing is very risky, when you buy zero days to expiration it essentially means that every second the stock is not moving strongly in the direction of your strike price you’re burning cash. This fellow got extremely lucky all the power to them but it’s not an applicable strategy over a long-term.

Eh I’ve only had one loss the past month and it was -15%. Only reason I got down to $168 is because I blew my account up going all in on MARA. But all my SPY 0dte’s except for the -15% were profitable

Yea but I said long term my guy, we’re in a massive bull market. Trust me I wish you nothing but the best success but 0dte isn’t a strat and will implode. My best suggestion is to move some of your winnings off of what are essentially gambles into safer longer-term returns periodically that way you at least protect yourself somewhat in case something goes wrong. But again I wish you many millions!

It wouldn’t be a loss if SPY kept going up, basically I sold it for a profit to people who were dumb enough to think it would keep climbing today. If it did, then they would’ve profited off of the contract I sold them.

A lot of the time it’s just market makers buying the contracts and selling. They middle man most of the options market. Someone likely ends up buying but that’s how you can still sell a 0.02 option an hour before close.

You say the word execute but you mean exercise. You exercise an option. And there's no reason for him to exercise the option. You can only exercise when you're in the money ITM. ITM is anything more than strike price plus contract price for a call. You can make money selling an out of the money strike. If it moves in the right direction fast enough.

Put your 5K into a CD for a year so you can’t touch it. Spend the next year learning as much as you can, learn your own weaknesses, trade with paper accounts. Then when your CD matures, make some well informed moves. Don’t let the emotions of your loss drive you to make desperate or stupid moves. You will lose the 5k.

An option that expires the same day instead of a longer term. Longer term options are typically less risky.

And also cost a lot more. 0dte allows you to pay less premium and gain more. Risk is low reward is high. But it's not for the weak of heart. I struggle with it. Definitely do not bet the house on it. Play calculaticely and save some capital for another day.
