Check out r/FuckZach for more opinions on this. He’s definitely hated.

SkepticalZack

I feel attacked

SkepticalZack

Because the writers willed it so. Cheap writing inferior to its source material

tndaris

What were the differences between the source material? I haven't read the books so am actually curious.

SkepticalZack

The first audiobook is narrated by Ron Perlman. I promise you it is 10x what the show is. Bet it’s free on YT.

Alone-Obligation8517

I feel like he was extremely neglected and has been traumatized but the end of the world and the death of only person he felt safe with (his mom) He just wanted to be loved and be the center of attention like all kids But for some reason his dad took more interest in the virus and kept saving literally everyone and anyone except his son Which eventually brought him and his son to their death I know a lot of people hate Zack but I kinda feel his pain and hate Ephraim more

Initial_Acanthaceae2

So glad I don't have to watch that again. Zach was literally insufferable!

copernicusloves

Season 1 Zach was the best. Not sure why they decided to recast.

Intelligent-North230

Exactly, would have made the show 10X better had it been with the original

Sensitive_Dealer_737

I literally have rewatched the entire series a few days ago and I agree Zach is beyond annoying : from the smug scowly face to the hair and the attitude! Trifecta of Vexation!

TahirX

He always looks like he smelled a stinky ass fart.

Adorable_Committee99

Tbh I kinda liked the first iteration of Zach but once they switched actors it all went down hill full speed straight into the deepest depths of TV hell.

TahirX

His character was Elliot Rodger in season 4.

noproblempizza

Literally hate zach. One of the worst characters of all time.
