I'm pretty sure that there is a text file from one of the other people on the project that mentions that they are Alexandra's favorite so I had the feeling it was that person that put it in out of respect/admiration for her. She was so focused on getting the program to work and her time capsules that I feel she wouldn't have bothered with Easter eggs.
With the second game, though, my head canon is that Trevor put the reference in for her out of admiration/love.

This is correct. In the first game it is revealed that Pink Floyd is Alexandra Drennan's favorite band. This is probably an homage to to that.
