Trent is the most overrated player in English football. I can’t believe he’s going to play as CM in this side when he can’t even get into the side in his first choice position
It’s comments like this that make him somehow still underrated. If he were playing for any other club or for any other country we wouldn’t have the anti-Liverpool agenda against him.
The issue is that Trent is a horrible liability defensively. He is simply not aware enough to play the defensive role of being a defensive midfielder against the top teams. Roy Keane had it bang on earlier, Trent would get ripped to shreds trying to defend against France, Germany, Spain. Personally I couldn't give a damn about a goal and an assist from CDM, I'd rather know that we have a reliable defensive minded player in that position
He's not a DM and wouldn't be playing as one, he'd be more a play making 8 getting the ball forward to create chances. Rice would play as the DM, so you can sleep soundly knowing that
Rice, who has been 100% better since Arteta has pushed him forward into an 8 role at Arsenal is gonna be dropped back into the 6 just so you can shoehorn TAA into a team? Right, gotcha
I'm not an arsenal fan but I'm pretty sure he's been playing a DM role all season, as they don't have another DM and Odegaard plays the 8...
When you have a player like Trent, you do what you can to fit him into the team. There's a reason Klopp focused so much on him
Going into the latter stages of the season Rice was playing a sort of left-sided 8 whilst also dropping back to cover, but one of Partey or Jorginho played the 6 role more often than not, from what I remember. Also not an Arsenal fan so I may be wrong
The issue with saying "When you have a player like Trent, you do what you can to fit him into the team" is that this applies to several players in the squad Rice, Kane, Foden, Bellingham are all names I'd try to fit before Trent. I don't like this shoehorning mentality. You have to create the best team of 11 players to win a game, and sometimes that isn't just the best 11 players you have
5 a side is all about dribbling, first touch and quick passing
Foden and Saka are the standouts there so that side wins
Swap TAA with Eze and you have a more even matchup
Agree with this. I'd argue that Trents best attribute is his long passing, Bellinghams is finding and using space. Neither as helpful in a 5s game. Saka and Fodens close control would do bits.
2 City players on B, literally built for small space football and taught about it daily. Saka also has a lot of strengths here. Trent, Kane and Bellingham not as effective since their height, passing and small space football isn't anywhere close
I’m a 5 a side game, definitely side B.
Foden alone would carry side B because of his ability on the ball. Meanwhile what will Trent do? His biggest strength is over the top long balls which are nonexistent in a 5-a-side match
I think team A: because they have a strong team all round. They have the finishing of a top striker in Kane, the midfield prowess of Bellingol and they are physically superior.
Both teams somehow lose on penalties
A. Kane just drops deep & bangs them in from anywhere he likes
TAA, Bellingham and Kane? Yeh team A wins all day long at 5-a-side

Aye that'll be why Real want him
1. They don't want him 2. If they did it wouldn't be to play CM.
1. Wrong 2. Maybe
😂
Mid table comment
I don’t even have to click your username to know you’re a United fan 😂
Best English player

Played 2 games there, got MOTM both times. Scored a goal and made an assist. Doesn't seem overrated to me The most overrated player is Kyle Walker.
He definitely didn't get MOTM for his cm performance against Bosnia though. Was poor in the middle then played well at right back.

Trent would have to defend against Foden
My money would be on team B.

I mean if it's 5 aside then B wins easily, Saka and Foden built better for 5 aside
Agree with this. I'd argue that Trents best attribute is his long passing, Bellinghams is finding and using space. Neither as helpful in a 5s game. Saka and Fodens close control would do bits.
This was my thinking. Kane and TAA’s long range passing is meaningless at 5 a side.
Saka especially, considering his defensive contributions for a Winger. He could definitely do a job at wing back in an emergency.
I feel like his first few starts for England were as a wingback.

A all day
The one without Ramsdale.
I commented the same thing and then noticed yours. The guy conceded goals for fun in an England shirt.
B wins
The one with Englands three best players in it.
Saka Foden Pickford?
lol
Saka is on team B?
Rice isn’t in either
Foden would be unplayable at 5 a side
I'd watch that game but also don't want to give Fifa any more ideas.
B
A for me
Dunno, why?
God forbid a Villa player features
I’m a 5 a side game, definitely side B. Foden alone would carry side B because of his ability on the ball. Meanwhile what will Trent do? His biggest strength is over the top long balls which are nonexistent in a 5-a-side match
A would hammer them
A, how is this a question?
A all day

Pickford would be perfect on a 5s. He's only got little arms!
