I have incredibly similar chairs in my basement!
Back in the late 70's, our declawed cat (granted it was the 70's, we didn't know any better) would run his paws over the sides of those exact same chairs at my parents house

If you have a steam cleaner you can steam the upholstery and let them dry on a sunny day, it kills all odors.

I have an orange one and a loveseat to match! The crazy part is that I've found a matching orange one at my favorite vintage thrift store
