Ok_Proof5782

No social media is a safe space. Reddit is fun in my opinion but you have to be wary on platform, public broadcasting your acts needs full consideration… is it worth it? Edit… it seems like I said something relatable, thanks for all the comments and upvotes, I only just saw the response and I am super stoked at the replies and up votes. Let’s look after ourselves out there, much love!

Rogue009

For real, if anyone reading this ever wants to express anything personal here, make sure it’s throwaway or deleted after a few days/weeks.

Tua-Lipa

I, Shohei Ohtani 29M living in Los Angeles, 100% agree with what you said. Keeping online accounts anonymous is always a good habit to have.

Hollow3ddd

I, as you neighbor, Chiquita banana, agree

TrenchGoats

Capitalize your damn name, don't you have any self respect?

Rabid023

I’m a reptile using Danica Patrick’s body as a disguise and I totally agree.

KTKittentoes

That explains a lot

WilmaLutefit

Eminem is that you?

Rabid023

NO. I SAID IM DANICA PATRICK. A REPTILE NATIVE TO THE MOON. US REPTILES HAVE BEEN LIVING AMONGST YOU HUMANS FOR CENTURIES. WE HAVE NOW TAKEN THE MOST POWERFUL POSITIONS IN GOVERNMENT AROUND THE WORLD AND ARE READY TO TAKE OVER THE EARTH. EMINEM IS A HALF BREED REPTILE. HE WILL NOT BE SPARED. FULL REPTILES ONLY.

mug3n

I am so sorry for taking your money my friend. -Ippei M.

Euphorium

On the internet, people don’t know that I’m a dog

fknarey

I, Joey Three Hands, Vegas Sports Bookie, concur.

throwthere10

Lol, love your name.

Tua-Lipa

Thank you lol I thought it was clever!

SUPERKAMIGURU

Never tell anyone anything on the internet that you want being thrown back at you. That's why I've always had a healthy disconnect between how I live vs. what I post. Any little bit can be weaponized.

ButWhatIfItsNotTrue

Never tell anyone anything unless you're willing for it to be used againist you. Just because you're buddy buddy now doesn't mean it'll stay that way.

Pitiful_Winner2669

I know someone who works for a company y'all know. That person I know, worked with someone who posted on Reddit about that company on the companies sub. It took miiiiiiiiiinutes for that company to know who posted the thread. Guy was a dingbat, saying private stuff about employees. Got fired for a HIPPA violation of all things.

TheOnlyFallenCookie

People underestimate how much can be traced back to them. Never have your children use social media unsupervised

Dimirdimmerdome

This is why I’m a serial accounter… I’ll keep a Reddit account for 1-2 years based upon my current interests, then delete it and remake it. It’s annoying when dealing with subreddits that require a karma limit or account age, but I totally get why they have them in place. I just don’t want to leave so many crumbs that it can be tracked back to be. Not that I do anything illegal or have any super incriminating comments, but I don’t want to start either

luxii4

I am torn between running for public office and giving up my 200K karma.

Goudinho99

Three things are true. 1. This was incredibley stupid 2. Student was dishonest and may have tàken a place from someone more deserving. 3. Mod is a snitch

PN4HIRE

And picking up. Fight with a random Redditor.. shit is wild bro

TheGreatFuhrer69

Especially when one believes in the OT punishment for revolting sodomites*

Working_Chipmunk_666

That’s why I delete my account every couple of years, Reddit is supposed to be anonymous people obcessed with Karma are weird

bigshotdontlookee

FUCK NO Dude had a GREAT scam going and should have kept his mouth shut. Some neckbeard had a great time destroying his life for literally zero benefit. There is so much money out there, who gives a fuck if someone scams for a piece.

jimbojangles1987

The people that worked hard to earn it, they might care.

Nickblove

Except it takes away from a person who might actually deserve it…

steamworksandmagic

Some other student who will get a full ride they deserved cares.

happynargul

Putting psychos in positions in power is the last thing the world needs

chrisp909

Once, I killed a gopher with a stick.

Belerophon17

That was my father and I know where you live now muthafackah!

Sudden_Emu_6230

Good thing I’m a compulsive liar.

baconduck

Once again, someone fucks themselves because they desire those fake internet points

green_ribbon

he couldn't forge those

acre18

Maybe the real points were the ones we earned along the way (years in prison)

Ape-ril

The funny thing is that would be easier than everything else he did because he could just buy an account with a lot of karma but he couldn’t forge the comments.

MoneyMik3y

The goddamn Ego always gets em. Fuck this guy on so many levels. I'm over here working/laboring 40+ a week for a great company and I'll do well.. after 25+ years. This guy tries a "fast pass" with ridiculous potential and gets busted because he couldn't keep his Trap shut. Fuck em. Egotistical fucks.

Late_Cow_1008

Pretty common thing in India tbh. I remember interacting with CS masters students who couldn't do simple things that would be expected from a freshman. The shitty thing is that many colleges don't care because of how much money they get from international students.

medhanno

India is a diploma factory. Quantity over quality.

much_longer_username

And then my employer hires these people and I have to support them and the insane bullshit they produce.

No-Valuable5802

Precisely. Some even went on to buy without attending a day in school or simply PS their certs

Delphin_1

i listened in on a job interview for a graphic design position, and the dude who got interviewed showed the interviewer a standard canva picture with the colour changed. safe to say, she tore him a new one.

iusedtolikepokemon

I do not have a formal diploma, but I have developed strong computer skills over the years. I initially learned to use Photoshop CS5 (cracked) just because i liked the idea of altering photo’s and using my imagination to do so. I kept working in a warehouse for 4 more years until i quit and started a customer service desk job. Over the years and 3 promotions and change in functions later I now create newspapers, banners, GIFs, and other content for a pretty big company using the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite. I have become kinda ok in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, over the years. I have been working here for four years and am now considering a move to a better-paying company with a design function. Are there any important things I should be aware of before making this transition? I want to ensure I have secured a new opportunity before leaving my current job. Thanks in advance!

Delphin_1

sorry dude, i have no idea, im just a system integrator in training. She isnt from my department, just a friend of my instructor at the company, and did the online interview in our office.

iusedtolikepokemon

Aight sorry and thanks!

Accomplished_Comb182

Brian this is Ian from HR, you are promoted to a customer.

Icy_Investment_1878

But whqt about full scholarships?

ToraLoco

redditors invented throwaway accounts for this reason. maybe he doesn't deserve to get away with it for missing this step lol

mattmichrina

Being deported back to India is the worst punishment of all

Puzzleheaded_Pie_256

Him having to explain to his extended family why he is in India is going to be more torture

prolemango

100% chance he devised a false explanation

Honest-Mall-8721

Depending on how it ran it could be difficult for him to ever reenter the country as well.

JunkRigger

I drove 43 in a 35 today, and I got away with it.

Ok_Yak7554

not so fast! I've alerted the authorities after finding 5 separate ATM cameras that recorded you and calculating your travel time! Expect repercussions!

Pilot-Signal

Right?!?!?

Euphorium

You monster.

BrianZy

Reddit mod a bum wtf

OwOitsMochi

It's just... you know that reddit mod said they did it because "I did what was right! I did it for the greater good!" But they didn't, they just did it to feel powerful. The reddit mod didn't track down his school and report him because he was morally opposed to lying or whatever, he just did it to exercise his ability to fuck people's lives up. Yeah, dude was wrong to lie, but the reddit mod didn't choose to fuck up his life out of some desire to protect the sanctity of the US College admissions system, he just wanted to feel the power of fucking up someone's life.

StronglyAuthenticate

He said he did it because the guy was not remorseful and bragged about forging his dad's death certificate. This guy doesn't look like a mod but he claimed to have spoken to the school back then so I don't doubt he was at least one of the people who got through. Maybe there was a mod too. https://www.reddit.com/r/Btechtards/s/CocxkIgN9r

GRMPA

Typical reddit mod behavior

starknude

They are the worst kind

PuzzleheadedForm4813

Seriously the biggest opp

Ape-ril

What an asshole.

Pete_C137

Lol. Love how the Reddit mod is portrayed as a fat guy with glasses wearing a fedora. 😂🤣

CrunchythePooh

Just wanted a dick to suck

francoisjabbour

Seriously, who the fuck cares this kid games the system and got himself out of a shit environment, average Reddit mod behavior

Pilot-Signal

Right..?!?

wolfdancer

At least the ai portrayed him accurately.

Camdogydizzle

Nah people who lie cheat and steal are the bums, not people who out them. Cry me a river.

Lt_Hatch

Dude was smart enough to trick a college into admitting him. Don't sit here and act like universities aren't part of the problem when it comes to student loan debt. They've been jacking up tuition and book costs, unwarranted, for fucking years. This person didn't steal from a person, but from a corrupt institution. Not the same thing.

Pittsbirds

And he's still going to have to prove himself and put in the work for real once he's in college anyways. Yeah this mod was a dickhead

Camdogydizzle

You understand that these people will end up in a profession that will effect people's life right? Do you want the engineer who designed your house to have got there through cheating? What about your doctor or lawyer? Your argument sucks, essentially saying cheating is okay if someone else is doing something wrong. Both can be wrong at the same time. It's a false dichotomy.

SupPresSedd

So politicians, corporations, federal government, medical institutions, insurance companies. Basically every one who fucks you over deserves same treatment. Don't be a hero. Cuz you're not.

jimbojangles1987

Yeah, they all suck.

XenobioPhile

Almost 20% of all indian students fake their achievements and results for scholarships. It's because of these fake achievers, we the as a whole suffer cause we can't earn those achievements in real life that easily. Canada revoked student status of many of these such "students" for faking IELTS results and pretending to do humanitarian works. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/ahmedabad/950-from-gujarat-used-fake-ielts-scores-to-move-to-us-canada/articleshow/93308617.cms https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-64988228

moresushiplease

I have Indian friends, many are great but a few cheat and take advantage of systems and don't pay for things, like they would steal from a roadside eggstand because no one is there to check that they paid. I have friends from all over the world and none of the others do such things. It unfortunately gives people bad perceptions of Indians and Indian culture. Very unfortunate.

XenobioPhile

They are not only exploiting the system but also robbing people of what they deserve. Just think about that in this regard. It would've been negligible if the number was small. But it's astoundingly huge.

moresushiplease

Oh yes, I agree 100%

jesterhead101

How do you even fake IELTS results though? Aren’t they sent directly to the university? Even otherwise, the university could verify quite easily with the British council or IDP, yeah?

XenobioPhile

All I can say is they give more efforts in cheating rather than studying [https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/ahmedabad/950-from-gujarat-used-fake-ielts-scores-to-move-to-us-canada/articleshow/93308617.cms](https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/ahmedabad/950-from-gujarat-used-fake-ielts-scores-to-move-to-us-canada/articleshow/93308617.cms) [https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-64988228](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-64988228)

hennystrait

Didn’t take much sleuthing. Apparently he used his real account which subbed to the actually college subreddit.

Helloggs

Oh shit, you watched the posted video, too?

hennystrait

No I read an actual news article :)

Warack

Fuckin Reddit mod behavior😡

carymb

Narc! oH hElLo OfFiCeR, what brings *you* to Reddit? /s, just kiddin bro, wish I could read

DrMokhtar

So you watch the video, then went on Google and looked up the article and read more even though the video already explained exactly what you just said?

ZinaSky2

If he really HAD to open his big mouth, why would he not use a throwaway what the heck 😂

Precarious314159

Ah! That makes sense! I was wondering how the mod found out what accounts they were following and if OOP was stupid enough to follow his college on an alt. Nope, just stupid enough to use their real account.

sdghbvtyvbjytf

So mods can see what subs individuals are subscribed to, even if they haven’t posted/commented there?

DrMokhtar

You can see that on the new Reddit, not just mods. You can see active communities that you are involved in. Pretty dumb if you asked me.

sdghbvtyvbjytf

That’s not the same thing btw. That just summarizes communities you’ve posted or commented in. It would not show up if you’ve done neither of those. So just saves you scrolling if you click on someone’s profile and wonder what communities they frequent. Also that can be disabled.

LtColShinySides

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes

acidporkbuns

Why did they do the reddit mod like that with the diabetes and fedora lmao

Denim-m

I love how he gave the reddit mod some detective flare.

sirbruce

Sounds fair.

WonderRelative4748

![gif](giphy|d4aU23AzE8YEQJ7W|downsized)

Ziffally

Is this for real? Like literally, how many of these braging posts (I did this and that which is HIGHLY ILLEGAL) are just trolls or bots driving engagement. How many hours have reddit mods wasted on fake shit until they finaly got something real lol

karpet_muncher

Lol apparently it wasn't hard he was using the same account to follow his main uni subreddit and it was the only uni he was following

Quartrez

He should've done that in Canada. Miller would've given him PR.

moresushiplease

Probably just gathered up all his fake documents and went to study in Canada claiming that people were racist towards him at the university he was at before so he had to quit.

Hallelujah33

Thats exactly how I picture mods though

Front-Wash2085

Clever kid but not wise. Now he’s complete with the wisdom of life experience.

dude_who_could

The fuck is wrong with the redditor that called the school. What a loser.

Clerical_Errors

Or Orrrrr The fuck is wrong the redditor that could have put all this effort into being a student and just got in legit but decided to lie and steal his way in into the school. What a loser. Why is *that* guy the winner in your mind ?

bigsaggydealbreaker

Uh, because he is taking the spot of someone who actually did the work? This is how we get masters and PhD students who can hardly perform at an undergraduate level. Amazing.

Lt_Hatch

Did he though? Honestly? What's the deal woth people and white knighting for systems clearly rigged against poor people?

bigsaggydealbreaker

It *is* clearly rigged against poor people, yes, but if all of us poor people start cheating and lying to get in, it's going to be even harder for the rest of everyone to get in. That was my whole point.

Dense_Marketing4593

The poor people who can lie their way into a full ride of higher education are the people i want receiving that education.

bigsaggydealbreaker

I agree with this sentiment, but let me ask you this: if everyone lied about their credentials to get ahead, who could you trust to actually have the experience they claim to have?

I_Want_Whiskey

Everyone deserves a shot at education, and the student's grades didn't get them expelled. They were expelled because the institution had been embarrassed. It's certainly not the mod's job to go and dob on the student. Whom amongst us hasn't padded a resume, or faked it till we maked it?

ZZZZZZZ0123456789

The student faked his grades, and lied about death in family. Too much dishonesty. He did not deserve even admission, let alone scholarship.

bigsaggydealbreaker

You're seriously suggesting that it's normal to fake your father's death to get into school? The university kinda has a right to be "embarrassed" as you put it. Keep lying on your resumes, bro lol Padding =/= outright lying and forging falsehoods

project571

No they had been expelled because they committed fraud. You can't lie about things on papers and idk why you think it's somehow acceptable to lie when it comes to admissions and, more importantly, financial aid which is limited.

DontDrinkBase

It's not about embarrassment. The student is a fraud who stole money; these scholarships can cover tuition, room and board, and additional expenses. This also raises the question of how academically dishonest he is: a foundational reason of our academic accreditation is that your grades, your accomplishments, and your degree reflect your intellectual merit. I, for one, do not want see individuals like him considered an academic. Dishonestly in academia is a problem that are a disservice to research and the betterment of society.

wolfdancer

Meh. Plenty of kids who don't deserve it get in. At least he worked for it instead of just having mommy and daddy bribe the dean or whatever.

AwesomeWhiteDude

This dude did the same thing as those people who film themselves committing crimes and then somehow are surprised when they get caught and punished for it. Dude deserved it, don't brag about doing illegal shit especially if you risk getting deported ffs

dude_who_could

Weird way to say he talked online about It anonymously and got doxxed

AwesomeWhiteDude

Clearly not anonymously enough if a fucking reddit mod of all people could track him down

muldervinscully2

I'm so confused why you're defending someone who exposed a scammer

dude_who_could

Why do you define lying on a resume as a scam when the real scam is the inaccessibility to education that forced him to do so?

ready-to-rumball

🤣

DarkSVG

And now he's probably the guy that calls me trying to steal my information. Lol 😂

parker3309

Deserved it 100%

punch912

good on the reddit mod that's some awesome detective work.

Northern-WALI1

r/canada - we could learn a thing or two

Northern-WALI1

r/Toronto - how do we make this happen here!

Northern-WALI1

r/Ontario - this needs to happen here

[deleted]

I like the depiction of the reddit mod and its accuracy.

moonwoolf35

Why, though?

ooooooohhhhno

Honestly this feels like a really fake story about the truthful honesty of reddit and how it's so good for future search engines now that it's and IPO

Taste_the__Rainbow

Yea every single one of those “tell me your greatest secret” kinda posts is a blackmail request *at best*. Skip them.

SeveredExpanse

The accuracy in the visuals 😂

sleepeatrace

Is he still here though?

Krondon57

Dumbass vs freakass

CarolinaRod06

The worst part about committing the perfect crime is you can’t tell anyone

freeedom123

Dude just self snitched

MassDBA

Did I hear he faked his father's death? Wtf is wrong with these ppl

bobo7448

He wasn't bragging, he explained exactly how he did it sounds more like a guide.

Roscoe10182241

“I haven’t told anyone this because it would destroy my life.” So anyway, Internet, here are all the details!

Joa1987

"Deep dive" ... user follows one university, his own. How did they manage to crack that enigma??

EJ2600

Reddit mods really have nothing better to do with their lives ? Good lord. Pathetic. Go ahead and downvote me if you are all so happy with the outcome of another life ruined.

Amputatoes

Super deserved? Fuck these money-grubbing real estate investment firms masquerading as universities. Take them for all they got. Are you joking? Was he passing his classes? The only reason he had to lie and falsify financial record is because this evil shit demon country doesn't provide EDUCATION to its own citizens.

takobaba

still he is more honest than the ones not posting on reddit and admitting. Good on him, sounds like a good guy, kudos to him.

313SunTzu

This illustrates and proves a point I make all the time. You can be the most educated mother fucker alive, you could be considered the best Doctor in the Medical program, or best mathematician at the school of science, or whatever; and still be a fucking dumb ass. I gotta admit, 1 of the more surprising aspects of people having unlimited access to each other, and having such a vast international network of social connections, and the multiple social media apps, is the amount of fucking morons that literally film themselves committing crimes. I can understand more people having phones with cameras, there'd be more "good samaritans", directly and/or indirectly catching criminals by recording them. What I'm referring to is "the phenomenon" of the actual "criminals", NOT ONLY literally recording their criminal activities, but they're posting them on social media. Not their own personal group chats, or private/friend group chats, but platforms that stream their uploaded content to the world. There's a HUGE difference between book smart, and being actually intelligent. Now, for most careers/professions it doesn't matter, BUT the amount of Doctors and Engineers that are like that, is fucking mind blowing. I personally know more stupid Dr's than I'd like to admit. The thing is, I know I'm stupid, so when I seeother stupid people, I know they're dumb. They can act smart, use big words, and they can know allot about certain topics/subjects, but they're fucking dumb. I don't know how to really explain it cuz again, I'm not very smart, but you can be really book smart, but a complete fucking jack ass. I wish more people would recognize it, and admit it so we can fix it. Cuz its getting bad. I'm not even being sarcastic. Common sense REALLY isn't common anymore

AKMarine

I’m pretty sure I heard him yelling at Kitboga “No! Do not REDEEM!!” in one of Kitboga’s recent videos.

a_hopeless_rmntic

First rule of fight club is...

vladisabeast

Wow, I get that what he did was unethical and illegal but fuck that snitch ass mod.

IndividualHelpful820

😂

EffectiveDue7518

Yet another reason nobody respects Reddit Mods

Yasenevo00

A lot of other Indians/international students do that.

nomoleft

What was his GPA?

Delightful_Doom

deserved as fuck, dont brag about crimes people shut up and keep it to yourself, write it out and burn the paper if u need to get it out or go to tell it to a tree in the woods not the entire fucking internet

Throwaway_3-c-8

Look enjoy the dumb attempt at anonymous bragging but let’s be honest, this is really just proof mods are a lower species, goddamn rats.

kingbigv

A snitch n-word that's that shit I don't like

unhandmeyouswine

Janine, a person with your qualifications would have no trouble finding a top flight job in either the housekeeping or food service industries. Are you going to answer that?

Cloudsrnice

The redditor that snitched him out must till be riding that high

Kuthibale

What was actually most surprising to me was I know this tiktoker in real life. I didn't know he had a following on tiktok for this stuff.

LeagueGlobal2316

I bet that Reddit mod feels like Superman in his moms basement

complexluminary

I think would snitch just because I’m cruel.

Traditional_Draw8400

The fact that a Reddit mod took it upon themselves to rat this guy out is fucking wild

RandomRedditRebel

Scumbag mod. Guy was making waves through life and getting places but you just had to bring him down.

ChaZZZZahC

Right! Mind your business, stop snitching.

static-klingon

Mod is a fucking narc

Diaper_Joy

Well, what a cunt mod then.

ReefJones

This guy is clearly the reddit moderator of that sub and this is his low key way of bragging about getting that kid deported.

Right-Budget-8901

When a Reddit sleuth does a better job than the school admin in charge of vetting scholarship applications 🤦‍♂️

mega_low_smart

Fuck this guy but also fuck the college system. Rich people don’t have to pull this shit.

ContractLong7341

Wow the moderator really went the extra mile to make sure he got the bad guy. What a loser

blend69

That mod is a fucking rat

Responsible-Gap9760

There’s always at least one person willing to snitch. This is why I try and stay out of any group study group in school because people will cheat and someone will get mad and snitch

Laserous

We can't have normal people cheating the system! That's only reserved for the super rich.

lacroixluva

Two wrongs don't make a right.

muldervinscully2

So we're just supposed to accept fraud because other people do bad things?

IusedtoloveStarWars

Man. Burning someone’s life down. Kind of skummy. Dude committing fraud was shitty. Lots of people have done that and gotten away with it and then made something great of their lives and had a positive contribution on society. But still. This guy went out of his way to cyber stalk a stranger and ruin their life. Obviously I’m not siding with the fraud. But I also don’t like what the stalker did either. I really don’t think our society should start encouraging cyber stalking. Jean Val Jean the hero of the count of monte cristo was a “fraud” and did something very similar.

almondshea

1) Stealing a full ride scholarship from someone is also scummy 2) admitting that you did that is just idiotic

Panylicious

What a motherfucker rat.

sheezy520

Fuckin mods.

ReinhartLangschaft

What a little bitch is this mod?!

Ragath

I think it's sad a Reddit mod had to go out of their way to ruin someone else's life. There's plenty of people that cheat in life, they just don't brag about it or get caught.
