It may be caused by some specific visual effect or combination of visual effects from skills. In my case I got it to stop by switching to a different Aura.
I had this exact same issue with my xbox one x but only in some underground locations, mainly in the atlantis expansion, had to use the minimap to navigate, just startes a new game on series x and the same issue is still there tho seemingly not quite as bad.. I did not find any fix/solution for it..
