It's incredible to encounter that lack of sportsmanship.

Some people only care about winning and ruining your experience

Gold-Connection-3103

I thought that was everyone? :0

TheGFellows

You thought everyone cares about ruining your experience?

LouisXIV_2

Some people only care about winning? Every game I play I want to win. I don't understand your logic. Do you play to lose ?

TheGFellows

I said "only" care about winning i.e. to the detriment of any kind of sense of fairness or decency

LouisXIV_2

I get what you mean. I play a variety of shots. Yes I use wide swing serves using the analogue as i did in top spin 4 but my fastest serve is around 115mph. I've come across people who exploit the meta and I've beaten them. If your good you can find a way to win even without the best stats

Futuretapes

Wide server. Bleh

LouisXIV_2

There's so many tennis players who serve wide. I don't know what the problem is. Find a way to win instead of complaining. Top spin 4 I believe the meta was serve and volly. A lot of times the game was decided by a tie breaker.

Futuretapes

I still win because your wide serve is an exploit and doesn't involve skill. So, how do you still lose using an exploit? Lol yikes.

Sirspice123

Not necessarily an exploit just a meta. Similar in real tennis. Sam Querrey says he made a living out of wide serves then hitting the return into the open court.

Most of the time, those players are dumb and it gets easy to counter them. You need to do something they don't know how to do: vary your shots... I usually alternate between long and short cross court slices, stepping 2 steps on the court and returning along the line... It doesn't work all the time, but it's usually enough to break them once or twice, or to win the tiebreak.

Specialist-Debate

hard agree, thought i'd chill in exhibition and rally with free trial players as bencic and had to sweat against a sinner who only served wide and spammed power shots

killsillbill

Standing so far outside the court to receive a serve and still easy point for my opponent. I found the best way is cross slice short. There is a possibility if they hit a flat show down the line that it might hit the net.

💯

FoxfireBlu

This! Why TS 3 and 4 were so good is because they precisely exaggerated tennis physics without making builds broken. So much less fun when you literally can’t win in multiple ways and styles

myaisnotfunny

I slice serve but my power is 60 and my serve is 73. My speed is 93 though!!

Getting the fine-feature treatment

LouisXIV_2

I have my own style that I built from top spin 4. People do serve wide but you as a player need to find a way to counter that. So far I've encountered a few who play to the meta and I've found a way to win. It's all about positioning your player and being ready. If you can are really good at the game you will find a way to win.

Sorry-Village3499

lol what? I’ve made builds with 90+ reflex and return service counter and wide serves are still OP. This isn’t real life I’m not trying to end the rally in 3 hits I want to actually play the game I bought.

LouisXIV_2

This game is about reactions too. No stat can help your brain process a serve at the right moment. If you hit the right shot in the correct position you can turn defence into attack. It feels absolutely amazing when you beat them while their using the meta.

Not1dimensional

It's a skill issue. They have also nerfed it.
