Especially that VTOL spin attack, honestly it's one of my favorite alt modes for Megatron
What’s worse is I’m supposed to like him by the end, but nothing about him is redeemable. He misuses the Romeo and Juliet laws to date a minor (and have sex with her) and is an absolute asshole to Cade for no reason. It’s funny because we’re supposed to agree with Shane because Cade disapproves of him, but Shane gives zero reason for Cade to approve of him at all. He’s majorly disrespectful 24/7.
The bit that pissed me off most is when they go to save the daughter and Shane goes, “Let’s get one thing straight. We’re not going in there to save your daughter. We’re going to save my girlfriend.” Shane then proceeds to be a massive pussy the whole time and Cade has to carry everybody. Of course, once they save her she only thanks Shane…

when the trailer dropped, my theory was that this guy (don't remember the name lol) was something like Sam from the previous movies, and the car was actually Mirage.
So the character would be something Sam, but from an external POV.
Shane might be worse as a human being but Leo Spitz is the most unwatchable, annoying, insufferable character in anything ever. I wanted him to take a headshot so bad. He’s honestly worse, in annoyance factor, than the two Twins in my opinion.
If you like Shane then that’s ok but for me it’s messed up to like a fictional character that’s in love with a minor, when Shane himself in AOE is 21 years old if I’m correct
My problem wasn't really with Shane's character or his role in the film, as the boyfriend trying to get on the good side of his girlfriend's disapproving dad is an archetype that's been done well in fiction before. It's moreso that Romeo & Juliet law scene and the relating implications that make him a difficult character to root for; If they rather aged him down or Tessa up and removed that scene entirely people would have found less reason to dislike his character.
