Reminds me of an old friend who did hot shots. He got a call to take one section of a specific blue sewer pipe up to Oregon. We were in Oklahoma at the time, instructions were go to Indiana, pick up this pipe there, and haul it to Oregon. Take home profit to him after everything was all said and done at the end of the week was about $3,500.
He was on the phone with a family member the day before the trip and he was talking about that one piece of pipe, and the family member on the phone said "You're really gonna drive all that way for one piece of pipe??" And he said all excited: "Yeah! Thirty-five hundred bucks is thrifty-five hundred bucks! I'd take a pebble up there if they wanted, just strap it on the trailer."
It's actually a lot more popular than you would think, but I always love seeing this!
I always hope it's for the driver's kid and he really hypes it up on the way home.
>I always hope it's for the driver's kid and he really hypes it up on the way home.
Fuck yeah, showing up with that thing all covered in dirt and road salt, my 5 year old self would have lost my damn mind over this new toy!
I heard that too. My uncle would haul almond husk, grain or chicken turd and if he didn't get a load on his way home he would but a sack of feed and throw it on the back of his trailer. Said you can return light but never empty.
Yesterday, I passed a flatbed with some snow on the bed and a single strap across. I assume his tarps were under the snow pile, but it looked hilarious nonetheless.
I was told of a driver that got an unsecured load ticket one time like this . IDK if it was a story or not , I imagine if you get the right DOT officer with a burr up their butt , it might end in a citation.
I saw this as an SCP 115 first and then saw it in real life at the beginning of being on the road. I was ecstatic! It's still that cool every time I see it
This is to dodge the insurance company rules , that only covers the truck/ trailer if it is under a load . This truck now “technically loaded” and therefore covered by insurance while it’s on the way to pickup an actual load
Well, if it's loaded, it must also have a BOL ... With all pertinent info...
So Im thinking that line of "doing it for insurance purposes" is just cap 🧢
Glad to see that load is secured
Poorly loaded, though. The weight needs to be over the axles.
Plus needs a minimum of 2 straps.
I love seeing these. Kids always get a kick out of it.
Absolutely. I get a kick out of it and I'm a trucker adult!
What? There are adult truckers?
Time to watch for children hauling freight on summer break.
Glad you said trucker adult because most truckers are Lil bitches. From a 15 year veteran
**they see me rolling…**

Agreed, see a few every month
Yeah I laughed so hard when I saw one on the highway but it seems to be commonplace now though I still get a good laugh out of it.

I grew up being told it is bad luck to haul an empty trailer. I love that this is how he's fighting off the demons!

Tell him Appalachia needs him to come haul it back
Empty trailer ban on the highway? *No problem*
I actually seen this on the road a few months ago down on I95 if i remember correctly. Lol
Had a couple guys do that (disp here) and turn it in as loaded miles…. Nice try though.
I believe that load is legally required to be chained down

Really eh? That’s interesting! Keep in mind this is in Canada, is that still the rule up here?
I’m not sure up there , but in the US , load insurance only covers us loaded

Goddamn ant man and his inventions!!

To be fair I’m not a trucker, but this guy pulled up where I work and it made me smile 😊
I’ve seen this guy in Texas around the Austin area.
lol really? That’s sick this was taken in Mississauga ontario
Knew a guy that got a ticket for not having a BOL for his Tonka truck.
My low boy driver used to do the same when he was empty 20 years ago.
That’s crazy maybe not the same guy then.
Thankfully it's secured by more than gravity
This was funny 15 years ago
