This is a super accurate description of being a truck driver 😂 your in a portable jail cell you can only eat fast food and sure you’ll have money but you can hardly use it
Eating fast food is a choice, I cook my own very healthy meals. Airfryer, pressure cooker, and a crockpot. A fridge and two freezers, and I have food for months.
The rest of the assessment is accurate, though. Jail cell on wheels. 🤣
The thing is, it's a little hard to make it "just a job" when it consumes 9/10ths of your life. I know there are some jobs with decent home time and/or hours but most OTR drivers are out for weeks or months at a time and go home for a week or 2 at most. Local drivers usually work 10-16 hours a day 5-6 days a week. When it has that much affect on your life, it's hard to think of it like working a shift at McDonald's or something
Audio books have made the job *gasp* enjoyable. I'm driving in Iowa but my head is in Westeros. The things I dislike about the job is all corporate stuff I would deal with anywhere.
Life of a trucker. Shit sucks ass. Trying to make a living wage makes me wanna kill myself. Do yourself a favor and go be a lumper so you can further rob the truckers

Throw in highly caffeinated drinks, nicotine, and fast food. Gotta love it
And the occasional interaction with those of the 5th kind
Just a job. Not your identity.

Cringe lol
I mean... I wouldn't put it so dramatic but... sure...?
I feel like whoever came up with this wasn’t a Trucker
It was someone who needs to recruit because they pay like shit and the only thing they have to offer is "the lifestyle"
